Isn't this just typical? For years I never knew of this place then I play gran tursimo and have formed a very strong bond with this track through the game. We must save The Ring. The GErman governments best intentions clearly went astray with the new developments running hundreds of millions of Euro over budget. All we wanted was a new car park and some maintenance...not an indoor rollercoaster!!!

I do however have somethign to ask, how can the nurburring, IE a paved road with a per drive fee (IE low maintenance cost), run up a few hundred million in debt?

I think bad management is the problem not capitalization. If the ring is saved ownership should go to a COOP consortium, like a bunch of car companies and racing teams.

@privee1 It's not just a paved road at all. 2 clueless businessmen have tried to go all Ferrari-world on it, with hotels, shopping malls, rolercoasters etc... except it's fell through, leaving the Ring with 400 mill. of debt. There's more accurate info on the 20832 site.

Merry Christmas Sabine!!! I am pretty sure I followed you on a parkway and bridge by the ocean in NY doing 120mph a year or so ago. You were in a BMW 3 series wagon with ring taxi as the license plate which covered the Euro designated plates for that car....its ok to admit it! Thank you for spicing up my commute home....needless to say...I was home early for dinner that day! Ciao!
