You just never know with young animals. You can do everything right, and sometimes they die, and you can do everything wrong, and sometimes they live.
I raised a crow this age to adulthood. You should, however, pass them along to someone who has facilities for teaching them to live in the wild. Released birds most often die. They have to be taught, by other birds, how to forage, etc.
I had found a baby crow just a few days ago he had white feathers...sadly when i went to fed him early this morning he had sadly passed away in the night.
(i don't know why he passed away he was eating and drinking just fine and was vary happy. :( i can't even look at my room with out crying over him.)
i wanted to say think you for putting this vid up it helped me alot.
So cuuute! I'm sad to hear he has passed away...but u tried your best, you are such a good-hearted person! I will do the same if I see a baby crow, they're very sweet animals! :)
love crows they are so intelligent. I walked by the ocean and sat at the sand in Santa Monica Beach. Out of the blue a beautiful green blue shinny black coated dark feathered crow came righto me and asked for water pointing to a glass with its beak. It drank water luckily it was not soda. Then asked for food from an empty hamburger bag I was so sad not to have some cooked wheat or bread for it it was so lovely. went there but only seagulls fly no crows. My aunt had just died. wonder mystery
i belive crows always spend some time on the ground befor they lern how to fly.
befor you decide you want to take care of it you should look for its parents, they are probobly nearby and will start screaming when you approach their baby bird.
@EstiSimon , yes while it is true that baby crows are grounded first before the parents teach them to fly, "Oscar" had broke his leg as is stated by Tofufest in the summary, so his chances were doomed if left to natural causes as an animal will not survive in the wild with a broken leg. It's a shame he died that night, the trauma of his leg and having people around was probably too much, but at least his chances were massively improved by taking him in. Nice that there are people like this.
i hav a baby crow, called Bruce. I found him underneath a tree at the end of may. I hav had him 6 months now and he is very happy i cnt wait to release him into his natural environment. He is now eating dog food and cat food although i do buy live locusts and let them out in the garden he runs after them and eats them he enjoys the very much !! x
if you find a baby bird in its nest, its parents arent around, is it true that by touching it you can change its scent and the parents wont accept it anymore?
You need to feed baby birds with solid foods like sugar free cereal, or bread because if you feed them only with fruits they die because fruits are water. If you find a baby bird always ask a vet about the feeding.
aaaw.....poor thing. But at least you tried! I have a baby crow and its parents hanging around my house at the moment. This is the second time I've had a baby crow being raised nearby.
i found yesterday a baby crow, even do he looks much more littel, what you feed him, Feng Huan is the crow i found, is there something special they like?
I <3 crows 2! I saved dis egg and it hatched a few days later. His name is Remmy and he lives in my back yard in the trees! He's really pretty! Sorri bout Oscar

Not sure if you sould give baby birds water, they don't drink from the mother only the moisture from the food.

It's not very wise to release a hand raised crow. you may obtain a license to keep it i think.

Found baby crow today and now its my and my frends pet. Trying to crow it propely and then release it!
NallekarkkiStudio 7 months ago
@NallekarkkiStudio I don't think releasing it is a good Idea, as it might be too bonded to humans to be wild anymore.
