  • Earthbound had the best SNES soundtrack. It goes from being happy to being some of the creepiest music ever. Even creepier than in Metroid games! Final Fantasy 6 had a very good one too.

  • final fantasy 3/6 also had a great sound

  • at 8:30 there a missile extension behind the chozo wall just put a power bumb and u ll get it :)

  • kindom hearts metriod prime and mother 3 had a little better soundtracks

  • Secret of Mana!

  • Final fantasy 4 and 6 ftw!!!!!!~!

  • Earthbound

  • FF6 had a better soundtrack.

  • super mario rpg has a pretty cool soundtrack.

  • 8:39 power bomb the room with the statue where you get them. There is something back there(super missles maybe, cant remember)

  • in terms of ambient music I think super metroid really is the cream of the crop.

I think one of the best game sound tracks for SNES was FFVI's sound track.

  • Does the Grapple Beam feel/act at all like the controls in Bionic Commando?

  • one time i went to the water place without all the items, but i had the grab hook, and after i beat the game i went back to get the items. bwahahahahaha......oh that misheared words. if you know super smash bros. brawl, then you will know.

  • one time i went to the water place without all the items, but i had the grab hook, and after i beat the game i went back to get the items. bwahahahahaha......oh that misheared words.

  • this is a lot my interasent

  • as far as soundtracks for the super nintendo go, don't forget ffVI, Yoshi's Island, and Kirby Superstar

  • That's my biggest achievement in this game in terms of sequence breaking is getting through Wrecked Ship and most of Norfair with the Power Suit. I ended up getting the Gravity Suit before fighting Kraid. Also, Super Mario RPG, Final Fantasy IV, V, VI, Secret of Mana, Mystic Quest (Rockin' Tunes), DKC series, Earthbound, Yoshi's Island. Super Metroid is pretty low on my list. This is purely subjective though... Lower Norfair is what I consider the best track in this game.

  • the music from earthbound first, link to the past second

  • I've watched a few LP's of Super Metroid. And no one mentions how amazing the music is in this game!Kudos Lancun! =D

  • earthbound has a pretty good soundtrack. and of course the other mother games, 1 and 3 have cool songs as well. but theyr arent snes, although the gba is somewhat a portable snes.

  • Seiken Densetsu 3, Lufia 2 & Bahamut Lagoon are three games that come to mind who have a great soundtrack :)

  • I agree with JairaGeorge!!!! Link to the past is awsome.

  • i have a lot secret of mana link to the past final fantasy 2 and 3 (4 and 6) super mario world and more but super metroid is still top class

  • I shoud check out Overthegun's LP, that is assuming that assfuck didn't false flag him too.

  • you should do a Chrono Trigger Let's play. :D

  • It's been nearly two years since you asked for good SNES soundtracks, but I'll list a few that I know are awesome: The Megaman X series, Final Fantasy VI, Donkey Kong Country 1-3, Secret of Mana had a few decent songs, Secret of Evermore, Killer Instinct, etc...

  • "Fuck off putty!" xD I remember that and "Fuck you pancake head." And he went the wrong way? Never played Metroid when a kid =P

Also, you make him sound scottish xD

  • You can skip the Grapple Beam and go to Wrecked Ship without it by doing a Shinespark.

Run from the edge of the water in the Missile room to the edge of the water in the next room, that's enough distance to trigger the Speed Booster, and if you position yourself just right, you'll zoom all the way to the Super Missile door that leads into the ship.

I saw that a few days back, and thought it was awesome, and asked myself why I hadn't thought of that myself.

  • link to the past soundtrack!!!!!!!!!

  • Noobs or unskilled players can actually do unexpected things in this game. I actually ran through several superheated areas without the Varia suit, in fact by the time I found Kraid a fat lot of good he did me.

  • Earthbound's music is awsome too.

  • Dude this might be a little out of date but, Super Castlevania 4 has a great soundtrack

  • I loved Megaman X's soundtrack.. just me though.

  • @mifpazeh I like it too. A LOT.

  • FF3.

  • what game is this?

  • Final Fantasy 6 (or 3 in America) has an equal soundtrack.

  • wht about super castlevania IV sound track!?

  • overthegun's super metroid run was hilarious and whoever watches these videos should look him up

  • i would have to say Final Fantasy 4

  • Final Fantasy 6, Link to the Past, Castlevania also had great soundtracks.

  • i would vote for ff8 soundtrack in the SeeD

    test exam

  • I'd vote for Super Castlevania IV's soundtrack.

  • hmm..... for some reason i can't find over the gun's LP of this, i can't find overthegun at all

.....i hate to ask but.... a little help here?

  • just type otg or overthegun into the search bar

  • i did but youtube didn't bring it up for some reason

fortuantly after ALOT of wierd youtube randomness i got ahold of his channel and got to see his LP of this

there was some fail there to be sure, i dunno how he would have gotten through without his save states, emulater hax

  • Try "overclocked remix of the chozo".

  • as long as it makes sense to you it makes sense

  • what the fuck. what do you call that? ram into my ass. lol.

  • 4:26

    *cough*link's awakening*cough*

  • Super gameplay man!

But the best metroid sountrack is the Kraid's Lair melodie of metroid zero mission ;)

  • i did marida without the gravity suit

fucking pissed me off when i watched a run thorugh and found out i could have gotten the suit before hand

  • If you love red brinstar music, then your going to like Torvous Bog subteranean music

  • megaman x has a great sound track

  • I got the X-Ray visor befor the Grapple Beam :D

  • You totally miss Link To The Past! That has an amazing soundtrack, as most Zelda's do...

  • (pinsers monater) i like samus butt hehehe (samus) help rapist

  • You liked Torvus Bog? I absolutely hated it. =\

  • i do to its anoying and i have to go back and get the gravity booster watever

because i followed Lan's Metroid Prime 2 walkthrough

and got the Multi Misiles or watever they called

  • Secret of Mana has a good one.

  • live-a-live soundtrack is pretty good. nowhere NEAR as good as the metroid games. I love the metroid games so much... i'm almost done /w easy mode on prime. i'm stuck in the 3rd room to the final area. (2nd if you don't count the entrance) damn fisson metroids! >:( there's a bubble in there that spits out 4 at once near the end of the room. I made it that far out of luck... the room sux guys! I ususally can't survive for 5 min! max time surviving there: 2min 14sec... imagine hard mode... O_o

  • I just love the Red Brinstar music. I wish you would spend forever in the room. I put the Metroid Soundtrack on my Ipod. I really am a big fan of video game soundtracks.

  • i liked super mario rpgs music especially genos maze music

  • 8:30 if you do a x-ray behind the statue u can see that u use super bomb and theres a missile expansion behind there.

  • Secret of Evermore absolutely blows Super Metroid's soundtrack away.

  • So yeah... random question, but, does anyone else use the Grapple Beam as their main weapon, or am I just weird like that?

  • that brinstar song is in metroid prime 2 isnt it

  • SNES titles with great soundtracks:

    Rockman X, X2 and X3

Breath of Fire 1 and 2

Final Fantasy IV, V,a nd VI

  • Castlevania Symphony of the night is the game with the best soundtrack

  • I had to check out OverTheGun's swim through Maridia because of your commentary on it. Wow. I didn't know you could enter the Wrecked Ship the way he did.

  • at 8:40 u can go into one of the plant eaters for a secert cant remember what it is though

  • I cant find over the guns LP!

  • This is late and all but i think Secret of Mana had a great soundtrack. Pretty much anything that squaresoft put out had a good soundtrack though.

  • yeah secret of mana does have an awesome soundtrack

  • dude youre hilarious plus thanks for the walktroughs!XD

  • What about Earthbound's Soundtrack?

  • That's what I was thinking.

  • At 8:38 when you get the power bombs, there's a secret room to the left. Power bomb your way through to get a missile pack.

  • I have to say OTG is an elite platformer to be able to do that underwater crap. I SAW that shit just recently, and I was like, "........ holy fuck...... O_O"

  • FF3 for SNES had a good soundtrack as well.

  • doney kong country 2 or earthbound.

  • Axelay Original Soundtrack is good 2

  • There were tonnes of great soundtracks for the SNES, but it's all oppinion. What comes to my mind are mario world&RPG, Zelda, Final Fantasy 6, Secret of Mana and the Donkey Kong Country Series.

  • Oh, yeah, looked it up on Metroid Wiki they are called Funes. So, yeah, pointless comment for a seemingly pointless item

  • to go to Wrecked Ship without the grappling beam ... shinespark! I saw it in a 55 minute run.

  • and I'm always surprised the x-ray visor doesn't show an easier way through the spike room.. there is like no reward for that thing.

  • Another good SNES soundtrack is in Donkey Kong Country 2.

  • Why does this game not have the Spider Ball?

  • Earthbound/Mother 2 was quite atmospheric as well~

  • final fantasy 6

  • agreed

  • Yeah I was actually about to post the same thing. Great music.

  • font forget about secret of manas epic soundtrack

  • I hear your accent changes a bit after imitating Overthegun. Im not sure if you tried to keep the accent slightly or if it just came out natural, but imiation if the highest form of flatery. You certainly hold him in high regards, dont you? Ill have to check out his LPs. From what I gathered before, I thought he was just an expert LP'er, but he sounds very entertaining. Ill make sure to check him out later.

Also, I do have one question. After this, do you plan to LP Fusion? Itd be fitting.

  • Final fantasy 2(4) on the SNES had a great sound track

  • If you want to see a cool run of Super Metroid, search for a user named "Cpadolf0". He's the current TAS record holder, and has came up with some pretty innovative ways to get through the game. Other Super Metroid TAS'ers I recommend is "SaturnTAS" and "yayu50"

  • TAS=?

  • For some reason youtube keeps eating my comments. TAS = Tool Assisted Speedrun. It's using slowdowns and savestates to achieve perfection. It's in it's own class in that it don't compete with other regular speedruns, only other TASes.

  • Don't forget about earthbound's soundtrack, that soundtrack was pretty good.

  • How could you forget Zelda aLttP, Lan?

  • ...What about Final Fantasy 6(3 on the SNES)?

  • The Super Castlevania IV soundtrack is also pretty good, in my opinion at least. But I agree, Super Metroid has one of the best if not the best SNES game soundtracks.

Good work on the video and the game. I don't have a good enough memory to remember where to go, so I end up having to explore a lot.
