can i download this onto a windows computer i have a toshiba laptop and i really need this how can i do that or could you let me know if there is even a way to download it onto windows and where can i find the link thanks so much i would really appreciate it
For a demo sound it sounded horrid I am sorry but I have Logic and I have not come across 1 decent sound the sound to my ears is rather harsh imho you cannot beat a real amp
Logic is absolutely amazing DAW but amp designer doesnt even come close to free amps sims out there let alone paid ones.its sounds like a cheap pedalboard and nothing more.
meh, it's a lot better than guitar amp pro that comes with logic, but this thing is still obviously far from perfect (like all software guitar amp programs) in trying to replicate an actual tube amp. i wouldn't use it if i were to make a guitar heavy song, where the guitar is playing the melody, but it is useful when using it as a guitar hook, etc in a electro/pop type of song, or more experimental indy, where guitar is minimal. it is fun though just to play with if you are not recording.
Amp Designer sounds like a joke compared with Amplitube 3 or Waves GTR. Those Fender emulation are laughable. Amp Designer can even nail the bread and butter clean tube sounds, let alone the more complicated high gain tones.
Thanks for posting this. I just order LE9S and I'm excited to try the models.
Not to be negative, but I'm hearing very noticeable "worble" on just the guitars. Its almost like a trem effect but more like lossy bit compression (not a compressor effect). Is that just due to the video being compressed for youtube (although I don't hear it on the drums or your voice)? Or did you stretch/flex the guitar track? I'm curious what might cause that.
ok question!!!! what kind of mixer did you used to record ur guitar because it sounds really good!! :) and did you used any interface to run your mixer? and from the mixer to the imacs input? please write me back.. thanxxx logic pro 9 rocks!!
Ihate to be a hater, but anyone who thinks that they can form an opinion on any kind of audio equipment on the basis of a youtube vid is kind of dense.
Dense as a whale omlette I may be; but this was put ON YouTube, thus my opinion is based in this particular presentation. Nothing about it interests me enough to seek out and purchase this software, when both Amplitube and Line 6 virtual amp rigs sound much better under the same presentation constrainsts of compressed YT audio.
Given that, I'll stand by my original comment and take a pass on any expenditure of time & resourses for software I'm already less than impressed with.
I don't mean to be a hater, but I all those amp sims are pretty awful. Tinny, or murky...what the Hell?
Might be cool for a quick demo, but I'd never use that on a real session. There are freeware plug-ins that sound better than this.
I'm kinda suprised, being as Logic is so highly recommended, and is such a recording platform staple. But, those tones are really really cheap sounding.
Again, not trying to be a buzzkill; just stating my opinion. Mostly, I'm just kinda shocked.
That's the quality of the video, not Logic's Amp sounds. I was in a mastering studio a few weeks ago and the head (Grammy winning) engineer was telling a story about how he got these Logic files of an album he was hired to master for a famous Alt Rock band. And he was shocked to find that they had recorded all the guitars "clean", and used Logic's amps to add all the distortion, etc. So... try it out for yourself. It's actually friggin amazing ;)
@MARSHOMEWORLD I think they sound really good, just need to work with other fx to get better EQ and compression... and of course, on youtube they sound horrible...
@MARSHOMEWORLD i have logic and some of the amps sound terrible but after some tweaking with a specific sound goal in mind and messin with the pedal board you can really get a good sound out of it
I have Logic 9 and at first it sounded like shit, but I discovered that it's not PRESET and READY TO GO, you have to EQ like you would do with a real amp
Not trying to convince you to think otherweise, and you can be a buzzkill if you wanna ;)
But as many people allready said, there's a limit to what Youtube can master in sound. And take the consideration that this is rough tracks. There has been no EQ'ing, compresion at all (And even if they are, they surely aren't set up for him shifting around through the different amps and cabs). I belive that if you master logic, you can make this sound allmost as incredible, as a real session.
hey dude good stuff. I tried to post a video response to this. its totally relevant so i dont know if you need to approve it or not but please do it would make me happy
RE: you shouldn't judge the programs capabilities by just what you see here. There are hundreds of other options including many other ways to produce distortion which im sure would knock your socks off if you get a chance to use it.
@punkrocker33446 Hey man, I work with both pro tools 8 and logic 9 almost everyday, and in my humble opinion, logic blows eleven out of the water! It just takes a lot of fine tweaking and you can find what you're looking for. If all else fails, grab a shure 57 and mic up your amp yourself! - Drew
nice thats good to know but i have protools 8 right now. I can alway hook up an sm57 like you said. but the tone im getting with protools is really good
I'm having real problems with PT8 and Snow Leopard, and when I say real problems I say: Freezing, plugin errors, crashes. I really love PT8, its audio editing features and the new MIDI capabilities, but I hope they fix those bugs soon because nowadays I can't work with it.
@WinterWineStudio I actually do the same thing to an extent. Not too thin but thin enough because I'd rather the bass and drums cover all the lower frequencies and I might layer the guitars depending on what I need. Guitar 4 is the shit & Ive been hearing good things about PODFarm 2.0 platinum as well. Im really disappointed with the new Amplitube though. So far PODFarm has the best selection of amps in regards to sheer originality of choices like Bogner, ENGL, Gretsch, Cornford, Supro etc.
Apogee duet is one of the best audio interfaces out there. Apogee was built for logic and logic has it's own menu for the apogee. Go type in Apogee Duet into google and read the reviews. It's firewire and really easy to use. Go check out dancetech channel on youtube. He did a review for the apogee duet. He shows u how to install it on to your mac and also how to use the software that comes with it. The price of the interface is about £300. But trust me, it will be a good investment. line 6 suks
Hey all you musicians-Logic is the way to go IMHO after 25 years in the business, going through DP, Nuendo and ProTools. If you're an engineer, ProTools is fine.
But if you're trying to write and create songs/cues....
yo dude, they make little adapter things that adapt 1/4" guitar chords to the 1/8" input that you can just plug into your computer's audio input. it's cost you less than $5
@CFSpictures No a mixer is diff. than an mbox. An mbox is just one of many usb interfaces that you plug you guitar into and the interface goes into a usb port on the computer. As far as interfaces are concerned Im a fan of Line 6 toneport models (they are the easiest to use) and Lexicon's models (sound amazing)
