So, I see cyclonic AND anticyclonic rotation in this video. It's great to see the comparison.

A cyclone is any rotating wind storm, clockwise or anticlockwise, Northern hemisphere usually anticlockwise Southern usually clockwise. If it's anticyclonic that would mean it's not rotating so by definition it's impossible to have a anticyclonic tornado.

@waitpu4 That because you misunderstand the term. Cyclonic rotation refers to the typical direction of rotation in relation to its proximity to a magnetic pole of Earth, not if it spins or not.

@JasondeLEpee the base definition of cyclone is any rotating wind storm that's it, in meteorological terms only refers to it's usual direction of rotation compared to it's polar position because it's not spinning in it's usual direction does not define it as anticyclonic.

Like it says in the video an anticyclonic tornado spins clockwise in the northern hemisphere. The vast majority of tornadoes in the northern hemisphere, more than 99%, rotate counterclockwise.

This is one of the few videos taped off a tv that still totally rocks. At least ya set the camera down and did it right. Although I have seen this before, man it never hurts to see again. The power is amazing, I mean if you were right there in front of that thing, and it didn't drive a 2x4 thru your heart, you certainly would need a change of pants.

The tornado that hit the pig farm (half of the 'animal hanger') was cyclonic. The one that hit the airplane hanger (the other half of 'animal hanger') was anticyclonic. Your title is confusing and inaccurate, so both you AND blackdark are correct.

First tornado is cyclonic (if its in the northern hemisphere) you can tell as it is swirling counter-clockwise (look at the debris) the others seem to be anticyclonic though (spinning clockwise)

That being said, you're partially right: the first part of the video shows the usual cyclonic circulation. However, the rest of the clip shows a different tornado that is indeed rotating anticyclonically.
