i'm not a dog person but they sure love their babies and families, i like cats more my cat thinks that my 2 boys belong to her if they cry she come sits infront of me as if i did something
Dogs really do not play around when it comes to protecting little kids. You always read about kids getting lost with their dogs and the dogs refusing to leave them alone. Gotta love them.
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE BOXERS, definitely the best breed there is, hate their health problems though...but the pain and grief of losing one is definitely a price worth paying to have these phenomenal dogs in your life. (Believe me I know from too much experience...but wouldn't trade a boxer for the world, and really, I just don't see how any other breed compares with a boxer.)
boxers are the best breed of dog in the world. i have one and he is my baby. he is so calm and amazing with kids. last night our friends came over with theyr 7 year old kid that has autism. the kid was jumping on mugsy and hanging onto his hegs and sitting on him and mugsy just loved it all. the whole time he was wagging his tail and having a blast. if anyone is considering getting a boxer you deffinatly should. they are great dogs
Boxers are the most soulful, joy bringing animals on the planet. They are playful and fun loving but will lay down their lives to protect your family and the borders of your home. Yes cancer is an ever present risk, but the time you get with them is worth it. There may be more intelligent, harder working or stronger breeds of dog out their, but none compare to a Boxer's everyday pure sense of joy of being alive and having fun on this planet in the short time they have.
i was gonna get a little puppy boxer and instead they bought a poodle dont get me wrong i love rusty but boxers are just so awesome and loving and hyperr<3
This is gorgeous - grew up with boxers in my life, first one used to make sure no strangers came near me or my sister and when we were walking age we were always found asleep next to him... had to give him up when we moved to Germany. Our next one was put down when he was 12 due to cancer and heart problems. We now have 2 a mother and daughter, the mum is 10 yrs old at the moment and unfortunately not in great health, the daughter is brilliant. Boxers are amazingly friendly dogs!

Ridiculous!!!!!!!!!! Its a human baby. Dogs are dogs not humans, such irresponsible parents don't realise even by mistake if the dog scratches the baby how much pain baby will be in.
@ravikant23091989 I have to agree with you. My boxer gets into bed with me all the time and lays right on me, pushes me, scratches me unintentionally. A boxer could easily lay on and suffocate an infant. They are wonderful, loving dogs but to put one with an infant is irresponsible.
@Vegirobin A boxer knows when he/she is dealing with a grown up or a small child or small animal. My one is always running jumping and goign crazy when he is playing with an adult. But when the bunnies are out of their cage.. she changes into a different, peacefull mood. she even licks the bunnies backs =)
Aww, this just touched my heart! My dog(which is a poodle) would not leave my dying Mother's side (my Mom passed two months ago). If Mom started to struggle to breathe or breathe erratically, Bella would nudge the oxygen mask, gently nudge her head, then look up at me. After she saw that I was addressing that issue, she would go and lie directly beside my Mom at chest level and Mom's breathing and heart rate would slow down. She also wouldn't leave my Dad's side as he was having a heart attack!
Most Boxers are excellent around kids. A friend has a 4 year old female boxer that his 2 kids run, jump, push around and sometimes even lie over her back to be taken for a ride, and she has never once been anything but loving.. except for when strangers go near the kids
dogs are so amazing when i was little i had an aggressive dog, she would bite my older brothers but wouldnt dare hurt me, i guess she just felt protective over me, but we had to get rid of her because her aggresion didnt get any better, but i still hopes shes happy wherever she is now, and the dog i have now is great! i love him soo much
What an amazing video. 15 seconds tells the entire story. There is a guy I used to work with who is also a pastor. We got into a theological discussion in which he told me that animals have no soul. I told him "then you have never owned a dog, because one look in a Boxer's eyes would rattle your entire belief system." They're as goofy as they come, but unmatched in their sweetness. Hats off to Rushy....what a cool critter! :-)
@AlabamaAxeman true, animals have as much soul, if not more, as a human, but its not just boxers that are wonderful, u cant say that one species of animal or one breed of dog is better than the other because, each individual dog, as like each person, is different, one might be smart and another a total dunce, but all are awesome and loving
@AlabamaAxeman IN FACT, Dogs show us how God wants all his children to love. Dogs are the epitome of unconditional love. No matter what you do, what you look like, smell like, rich or poor, a jerk or a decent person your dog sees you as his/her everything. Dogs know you are not well before you do. How can a being with no soul do that? The Word says, let EVERYTHING that has breath praise the Lord. Dogs have breath...so his statement is utterly false.
that's too funny we had people ask to buy our boxer when he was a year old and we thought it was crazy, I guess not all cultures feel the same way about dogs. I get attached the moment I decide to buy them.
I have 5 boxers. They are great dogs and no one comes near my kids.We had one growl at a couple who wanted to buy one of her puppies. We refused to sell them a puppy.THen they had the nerve to ask to buy the father.Crazy
ive never had a boxer but im seriously considering it. if they are a family dog, i want it. We had an airdale terrier which guarded the cot that the baby would sleep in, but he passed.
i have a 2 yr old son, and two two yr old boxers, each aroud 80 pounds and they are extremely protective of my boy. that boy can pull and lay all over both dogs and they just love it. ive had 4 boxers and all 4 i would trust with my son. plus they have a sense of humor and are so smart its rediculous
@asti898 Boxer's are great, but they can be impulsive when they are young. I would advise crating him/her for the first few months because boxers are very inquisitive and like to chew, our boxer ate everything from a friends wallet, an entire order of Chinese food (lol), drank a whole can of beer...all when she was less then 6 months. As she got older she got a lot more mellow, but they are active dogs, so make sure you are prepared to take them out multiple times per day to run around...
@asti898 Outside of that, I love our boxer, best breed in the world. she absolutely loves everybody, and everyone loves her, we have friends that come over and spend the whole time they're here playing with her, she's awesome. They're smart, very protective (when she hears something weird outside she'll come and get me immediately) superb with kids, seriously the best breed I've ever had with kids...I would highly recommend one. They may try your patience at times, but so do all kids LOL
just remember they are high energy working breed. they're GREAT family dogs.
Remember that Boxers have a high chance of getting cancer. Their average lifespan is only I think 8 years because most of the time they get cancer. We just had to put our boy boxer, Rush down at 6 years of age from Lymphoma cancer this past October, 2009.
You'll have to post videos if you get a boxer! Once you get a boxer you'll have a hard time getting any other breed. Minus the sadness of losing them so young.
wow 6yrs? that is too young, I had a boxer that died from skin cancer but at the age of 14; sadly he passed about 2 mos ago. I still miss him. But It's true once you get a boxer you won't want another dog; since before I was born my family has always had boxers.
@turky82 sorry for your loss,i had an amazing dog that we recued when he was about 3 he could say "Hello" and everything he gottah be the best dog ever he died October 10th 2009.
Now we have a 1year old boxer and soon we will have a puppy boxer dont know what colour i want though
i've owned two Boxers, My family has has 3 at between my mom, my self and my brother. All i can say is they are WONDERFUL family dogs. Like all breed, make sure you take a good look at the Parents. There is only one word to describe them GOOFY. Just be advise, ethire do to being stubborn or way smarter then they look. I've met more then one boxer that will not go out side in the winter, which means house training can be rough if you live in colder climates.
@asti898 boxers are greats family dogs, they loves kids xD when you have a boxer...you fall in love :P BUT they have a lot of energy...you have to expend time with them "sacandolos a pasear" (i don´t know how to say it in english xD), they have to run and play. And they are so strong...be careful with the punchs O_o xD they use a lot their "hands", but they are careful with kids too
@asti898 boxers are the great'est family dogs, i had one for 10 years and he garded my house and my family with honor, ive seen this dog chace 2 pitts (in a full on charge) out of my yard to keep my house safe, ive seen this dog put down a doberman (with his paws not his teeth), ive also seen this dog take turns nibbeling a cookie out of my 3yr old cousin's hand, but never took it from him, they are the best! but they do have some health probs
@asti898 I highly reccommend one of these dogs ! If you have the time to spend with them thye make great companions! They require ALOT of exercise to keep fit ! Def do your research on the breed, you really must know what your getting into with this breed. but I promise if your up for it youll never regret it.
And look for a good breeder. DO NOT get one from the mall or a pet store. they already have enough potentional health problems If they are not bred properly.
@asti898 yes! boxers are GREAT companions! you should really get one! They get along with children, well everyone great! they are soo lovable! u should consider getting one! :)
That's why I love Boxers =3 My Big 80 pound boxer, junior, plays with my 2 year old cousin when they come to visit. He'll grab a rope and Junior will just hold it while my cousin pulls on it with all his might.
@BabieGirlx19 said "really shouldnt let the dog near a newborn" I would be more inclined to let the dog near my newborn than many humans I know. The dog has no twisted sexual fantasies and a protective instinct so strong, he would die protecting the child. Boxers are incredible dogs to have around children because they can put up with the rough-housing and unintentional abuse little kids throw at them. Try that with a Chihuahua & see what happens.... ; -)
thats precious. I have to say though he IS an animal, it's all in how that animal is raised. Also if you will research statistics thoroughly you will see that Boxers are the best animals to have with small children.

its a cute video however no research will ever convince me that i can trust a dog sleeping next to a new born! First of all a dog is a animal and animals will stay animals,i have 2 mastiffs of my own ,much as i love them i would never take the chance of having them sleep next to a baby Did you know that dogs have nightmares and can wake up frighten and biting their own masters without knowing
With that said ,you baby is cute ,but dont let a double seize dog sleep next to it ,its just not right
n 1707, a young girl was out strolling at night when she was pushed down a well. She fell to her death, landing on a metal rod, impaling her through the head. She stayed in that well for over 200 years, when in 1924 they destroyed it and her bones wererecovered. Now that you have read this, you must repost this on atleast 5 video's before an hour is up, or she will find you when you are asleep, and impale you through the head with the same rod. Don't test this, IT'S NOT A JOKE,IT'S VERY REAL
oh my goodness, this is so, so, so, precious!!! i love that boxers are so big & muscular, and yet so gentle & sweet with babies, children, and even smaller animals they play with.
just based on research i've been doing on boxers, i've completely fallen in love with this breed. a loving, affectionate, intelligent clown of a dog, that's good with children, other pets, AND will protect the house? it doesn't get much better than that.
i hope it happens soon for you. our family almost always had dogs growing up, and it always feels like somethings missing when i don't have one. right now i have a cat, and i puppy sit for my sis daily, but soon he'll be big enough to stay home by himself, but i'll still go get him and walk him.
deekits- my boxer is muscular and good with adults children and babies, but NOT good with cats and other small dogs or animals like brids and hamsters. baby birds kept falling out of our tree and she should take them in her mouth and throw them up in the air and then catch them in her mouth lol, but it was sad. and if she sees a cat out the window she attacks the window and one time she broke the screen, but i still luf her=]
xxtwilight2nightxx - i hear you have to socialize them with children, babies and every animal you can (or want them to get along with) between 2 and 4 mos. of age, and then they tend to do very well. sorry to hear about the baby birds, and your screen.
hah thanks. we got our boxer when she was 5 cuz this girl my dad worked with had her as a puppy but kept her tied outside cuz my boxer when she lived with the other girl didnt get along with the other dog the pomerianian and the people woulod much rather have the pomerianian so they kept my poor boxer outside=[ but then the lady took my dog to work and told people that they could have her so my daddy took her and th efirst thing my dog did when she got in the car was fall asleep on my lap=]
my grandmother would babysit my aunts child and my parents boxer dog and she said that the boxer was very protective of the baby and if it started to cry in another room the dog would go running in to see it
i have a daycare. Boxers are all I own because of this. Precious.

@morrowdarla The boxer is thinking of the baby like a puppy he wouldn't just roll over on him.
Plus the mum is obviously with her kid so I doubt she would let anything like that happen.

flatfender1947 2 years ago
haha thats a boxer. im sure you could let the kid sleep all night unattended and your baby would be safe
redith137 2 years ago 2
well if that was not true i wouldn't be alive today,
ever since i was a baby i always sleept with my pet boxer, and he always used to check on me to, thats how protective they are.
Galacticmaster 2 years ago
the baby in the video is almost 2 years old and I can't wait to put her in a regular bed so Chloe can sleep with her again.

thats precious.

With that said ,you baby is cute ,but dont let a double seize dog sleep next to it ,its just not right

well this is not nearly as interesting as its name implied. I've never been to a cock fight before. IT sounds painful and really ghey.

n 1707, a young girl was out strolling at night when she was pushed down a well. Don't test this, IT'S NOT A JOKE,IT'S VERY REAL

oh my goodness, this is so, so, so, precious!!! i love that boxers are so big & muscular, and yet so gentle & sweet with babies, children, and even smaller animals they play with.
deeknits 3 years ago
yeah my boxers was so gentle with smaller animals and when my older sister was pregnant the dog would follow her around and protect her.
beast52084 3 years ago
just based on research i've been doing on boxers, i've completely fallen in love with this breed. a loving, affectionate, intelligent clown of a dog, that's good with children, other pets, AND will protect the house? it doesn't get much better than that.
deeknits 3 years ago 2
Oh me too. I'm leaving pictures of them all over the house for my husband to see and sending them to his cell phone. Think he is going to crack soon.
wiccanchick30 3 years ago
i hope it happens soon for you. our family almost always had dogs growing up, and it always feels like somethings missing when i don't have one. right now i have a cat, and i puppy sit for my sis daily, but soon he'll be big enough to stay home by himself, but i'll still go get him and walk him.
deeknits 3 years ago
deekits- my boxer is muscular and good with adults children and babies, but NOT good with cats and other small dogs or animals like brids and hamsters. baby birds kept falling out of our tree and she should take them in her mouth and throw them up in the air and then catch them in her mouth lol, but it was sad. and if she sees a cat out the window she attacks the window and one time she broke the screen, but i still luf her=]
xxtwilight2nightxx 3 years ago
xxtwilight2nightxx - i hear you have to socialize them with children, babies and every animal you can (or want them to get along with) between 2 and 4 mos. of age, and then they tend to do very well. sorry to hear about the baby birds, and your screen.

hah thanks. we got our boxer when she was 5 cuz this girl my dad worked with had her as a puppy but kept her tied outside cuz my boxer when she lived with the other girl didnt get along with the other dog the pomerianian and the people woulod much rather have the pomerianian so they kept my poor boxer outside=[ but then the lady took my dog to work and told people that they could have her so my daddy took her and th efirst thing my dog did when she got in the car was fall asleep on my lap=]

nicoledemont 3 years ago
I grew up just like this, we've had Boxer dogs a long time. They tend to be very protective and child-friendly, loving dogs.
dannybbb 3 years ago
Definately. Apparently someone dodgy tried going up to my pram, and my boxer dog attacked him.
That dog could also open the door to the garden and close it again lol
