One thing to consider is that crocodilians are superior fighters for their size. Sharks rarely fight with things they consider dangerous. An armored croc has no qualms about grabbing any number of large dangerous animals and dragging it kicking, clawing, or biting into the water. Sharks hit an animal they think is weak, and back off to let it bleed to death. If only we could catch a saltie vs great white encounter in the wild..

50 feet was a given average adult size for a megalodon, but it may even have reached 70 feet long. like the great white which is 15 feet long as an average adult size, it can grow to 23 feet long.

The problem with this is that one is semi-aquatic while the other is fully aquatic.

Size matters...Deinosuchus reached between 40 to 50 feet maximum w/ a weight of 7-10 tons, while Megalodon reached 60-70 feet w/ a weight of 50-60 tons. Thats a significant size advantage here for the Meg.
That's only because people keep comparing Meg to the Great white, in which recent studies showed the two weren't that much related. As far as I know Meg only got to around 40ft, 50 at most and weighed anywhere from 20-40 tons. Still pretty beast though.
Umm, no its not 40 feet, if you actually go by most accurate and up to date measuring (1 inch of teeth equates to 10 feet of length), the Meg is much, much larger then that.
40 feet is a vastly conservative analyst of the animal for people who don't want to look like they are exaggerating. The smallest adult Megalodon would still be vastly larger then the largest Deinosuchus.

Actually, bobo is correct in saying that "Science" refers to the Scientific Method and not to peer review. Yes, peer review is an important part of the institution that is called "Science", but as far as Science as a method of understanding goes, it is not strictly necessary.

Also, this is from my past memory of looking into these animals, and I believe that Megalodon would win simple because of this: They would only confront in large mouths of rivers opening to the sea, or out in the ocean. As a shark, this is where they have the advantage over modern day crocodiles.

The problem with this is that one is semi-aquatic while the other is fully aquatic.
The other significant problem is terrain, considering the only way this could ever occur is if the fight took in deep open water because thats the only place it could take place with a Megalodon.
Size matters...Deinosuchus reached between 40 to 50 feet maximum w/ a weight of 7-10 tons, while Megalodon reached 60-70 feet w/ a weight of 50-60 tons. Thats a significant size advantage here for the Meg.

That's only because people keep comparing Meg to the Great white, in which recent studies showed the two weren't that much related. As far as I know Meg only got to around 40ft, 50 at most and weighed anywhere from 20-40 tons. Still pretty beast though.

Umm, no its not 40 feet, if you actually go by most accurate and up to date measuring (1 inch of teeth equates to 10 feet of length), the Meg is much, much larger then that.
40 feet is a vastly conservative analyst of the animal for people who don't want to look like they are exaggerating. The smallest adult Megalodon would still be vastly larger then the largest Deinosuchus.

Also, your riding on the sheer indication that there is 100% proof of Meg not being related to the Great White, which is preposterous (I would like to read this fact file that ends this entire debate completely please). Otherwise by 2011, the debate should have ended by now.
