this is a great tutorial. The videos a bit too chappy, but the audio part of the tutorials so clear. So i did it and it worked ("of course" :hits my self on the head:). TNX
DO you a HD of this Vid? It looks cool but i cant follow trough because it's pixilating and your voice do not synchrinize with the work flow of you vid
That worked great! The Utilities tab in hypershade kept the range node, while the work area allowed for mapping of each object individually, springy :)
Once you have connected up the network correctly, moving the locator should control the spring, and in part 3 you add a constraint to make the geometry follow along too. Be careful though, Just limiting translate in Y may not give you the desired results if your piston is at an angle. You can always email me too if you're still haveing difficulties.
... way out, the distance shape node and locator shape nodes just aren't there.
Trying it as 2 steps: 1)move distance parameter from shape node into (input) x value of range node, and setting the min-max values, Done.
2)move (output) x value of range node into the (waiting input) x value for the helix. BUt can't find the range node anywhere (Hypergraph, Outliner, Hypershader, Connection Editor,Help info, etc).
I'm not sure why it won't map the connections for multiple selected objects, as you can see in the vid it does work. If you have added a range node, but then mapped another object out, you can find your range node in the hypershade but only if you have the split window showing the top and bottom tabs - the created range node is under the utilities tab. Then you should be able to shift select each item and map its connections out.
Good speech tutorial all clean and nice but the vid is confusing me so please make it better

Hey there is a problem in your video can u correct it pls
THISHANDP 2 years ago
it looks like youtube has re-encoded parts 2 to 4 which has caused a drop in the frame rate - I'll see what I can do

I'm not getting any locators for my measuring tool, why?

Help please, (cont. 3rd)
Also tried Limiting y translate min-max values of the top locater. It controls the locater movement but how can
the spring blend shape be included?
These are oustanding tutorials! Thankyou for stating the shortcut keys, very informative :)

Help please, (1st of 3 postings -- 500 character limit adds up quick)
Summary: Can't get distance node, set range node, and blend shape nodes all on the same screen
in hypershade workspace.
With the spring blend shape already graphed in the hypershade window:
Selecting the distance node and then shift selecting the blend shape spring to map them both
in the hypershader, the only node that appears is "distanceDimension1(transform)" even if zoomed ...
