You cannot claim the police officers are murderers as they were aquitted- but before you claim that is not true can you first comment on the first part of my reply. For one thing. you dont just walk in front of a riot patrol. If you do, you can be considered a threat. Also, not showing your hands to police can be considered a threat. Do you think it's easy to be armed with a baton, shield, and helmet versus a huge crowd? Adrenaline flows and flight or fight responses take over. That man didn't even have the decency or respect to let the officers line pass or keep out of the way. His death is tragedy, but he should have used his head let the line pass.

If the British Police fail to uphold a complaint of unwarranted execution of duty by the officer who struck the gentleman then they will have failed in their obligation to uphold the law. He posed no threat, was moving away, not toward the Police Officers, the dog handlers allowed their charges to get too close to a civilian who posed no threat, the dogs would have been highly charged due to the environment, the striking officer was not at risk of injury or threat. In this case they got it wrong

Understand where you are coming from. Simple procedure actually. If you believe that an individual poses a threat, ie concealed weapon, and you are approaching from behind, you use a developed take down technique that prevents serious injury to both the suspect and officer concerned. In this instance their was no evaluation by the striking officer, he just struck out because he was either poorly trained or over zealous or both.

I'm sure the training is adequate, and we shouldn't judge the whole force over the actions of one. There will always be "bad eggs" whatever the job. Just a shame it was in such a respectable role. We have enough people who think that the Police are there just to mess up one's life and portrayals like this really don't help.
