  • Thanks for the Grai .. HUM i mean, HAIR technique :P .... very useful !

  • @AztecBodyart LOL Your welcome

  • Enjoyed the vid, and especially appreciate the 'bloopers' at the end.

The finished product makes it look as if it is easy doing a video, and we need to be reminded that it is not.

  • @gjsterp My girls ask me every time I produce a video,Dad are there any Bloopers? LOL

  • ED, what PSI are you running and what compressor and gun too THX

  • @mydirtw Iwata HP-BC and HP-BCS a 5 horse industrial air compressor and a SATA mini Jet

  • hello,

    many thank

  • hmma show howta.. gahwd..

  • How do I keep my hand steady everytime I try and airbrush I have to push down on the trigger and pull back to get alot of paint any help please

  • @Left4Clown Practice more is all I can suggest,it will slowly but surly get easier.

  • Tks ed for taking the time to reply cheers rick

  • @cleopusjames1 No problem man.

  • G'day this is so cool I'm looking at painting my dirt bike plastics for the carbon effect and maybe merge in this eagle. So cool your sharing this with us noobers :) what would you recommend and as a cheap airbrush via online purchase Ed. Cheers

  • @cleopusjames1 Iwata HP-BCS from coastairbrush(dot)com

  • I so appreciate your videos. I am starting from scratch w/little experience and plan to do my own custom truck w/ideas you've shown here. Thanks.

  • @timthemechanix Your welcome

  • is that picture of the eagle on regular printer paper or is it some kind of special paper

  • @187ONaNOOB Just printer paper.

  • When i try to do a dagger stroke, it seems to blot up toward the end where im trying to get it to thin out, i feel like i might be releasing too much paint? or my airbrush might just be cheap? Do you sort of gradually let off how much paint you let through at once as you get towards the end of the line? it would be awesome to hear back from you. thanks.

  • @HoboCabbage Yes that is how you do it. You can thin your paint more also. But yes if it is a cheap gun it might be sticking and that could be the reason also.

  • @edhubbs Thank you sooo much. And while im getting free advice from a pro, lol, i thought i would ask about reducing. The needle on my airbrush is .3mm and i had a lot of trouble spraying autoair metalic and candy colors. They say to reduce 3:1 for .5mm airbrush. Im afraid to thin it too much but i have a feeling i have to to get it to spray properly out of my brush. Should i attempt to reduce it to the point where it sprays nice? or is that going to sacrifice from color or anything else?

  • @HoboCabbage If it isn't reduced enough your going to have to experiment with it until it does.

  • @edhubbs Thank you sooo much for your help, im sure you are a very busy guy, so i really appreciate you taking the time out to answer my questions. I just put an order in for your dvds boot camp to airbrush vol 1$2 and i look forward to receiving them. Also... have you ever had a client who wanted to customize his/her drumset/drum? Its what i want to do with airbrushing and im curious about the demand for it.

  • @HoboCabbage On my web site is some pictures of a couple drum sets and guitars that i have painted.

  • @HoboCabbage blotting up at the end of a dagger stroke means that paint is still coming out when the mobvement slows or stops

  • @MrSteveratty thanks, it took me a lot of practice to understand how to do it, but ive got it down since i made the comment, but its great information to be aware of :D

  • hahahahaha wood grain

  • Oh ok thanks bro how much you thing someone will charge for customizing a xbox controller custom

  • Hi Edd! I need some advices from you, I am right about to paint my helmet, this is my first attempt in helmet painting. I got two quesitons. First, does the wrapping effect still works if I use cans instead of air machine? Second, if I use black as basic color, can I add some white patterns? I mean, can white completely cover black?

    Thank you so much!

  • @ronchia I never use a rattle can so I do not know if it would work.Sorry

Try a test panel first to see what patterns that you like the best.

  • @edhubbs could you tell me how you would paint a bullet hole. would you use a stencil or do that last technique you showed

  • @edhubbs Hi Edd. Sorry to bother you again. I just wanted to let you know that I used the wrap technique on my helmet using cans. The result is amazing! Bye from Italy!

  • @ronchia Well lets see a photo.LOL

  • @edhubbs

Where can I post the pic?

  • @ronchia Do you have a facebook account?

  • I'm having trouble finding things to brush on that are easy to come by. In most of your videos I noticed you use a black surface. What exactly is it? lol. And what else would you suggest me brushing on? Thanks

  • @aero22880 Mail Boxes, toilet seats, old hoods from body shops,cd cases, old surf boards, skate boards snow boards, metal entry doors, bowling pins, aluminum panels. And any thing else that you can get your hands on.LOL

  • Is it better to have a gravity feed airbrush or one that sucks it up from the cup?

  • @SkatexEmerica44 Either one,it is just a personal preference.

  • @LBTfan45 That is awesome, have fun with it.

  • Just ordered my airbrush. I dont know how i will be at it but i am great at drawing and shadowing so i know a basis of shadowing and detailing. It wont be easy to become a good airbrusher though. Thanks for the tips and lookign froward to more vids. I love the woodgrain technique lol

  • BEST video for my purpose.... thanks

  • Your welcome

  • i plan to get a grex xg and gonna get into airbrushing. just need to know what is a good cheap waterbased paint

  • createx, or wicked colors

  • Thanks Adi

  • Comment removed

  • Hey Ed,,loving the work. i just bought an airbrush kit. when i do fine lines the paint splats everywhere. the airbrush is cheap, as are the paints, is this the reason or am i missing something? be great to hear your advice on this. keep up the good work.

  • Are you using water based paints?

  • yeh, just got a dagr today, much better. do createx paints work well with dagr for canvas?? thanx dude

  • Yes the do.

  • Great vid. And throwing in the bloopers...what a bonus. Thanks.

  • Ya I make enough mistakes to make a movie out of them.LOL

  • that was awesome man. i just got an air brush and equipment today, i was wondering if normal acrylic paint that comes in tubes would be alright to use?

  • I really don't know about that one.

  • @edhubbs , I haven't tested it myself but they say you can use the paint from your tubes. Just make sure you add enough thinner so your airbrush doesn't get blocked =). It's good as a beginner to save some money on airbrush paint. But it's not recommended to make real airbrush works with it. Greetz

  • Great work!

What do you reccomend for an air brush, gravity fed or bottom fed?

  • Either one really. It is just a personal prefferance on which one to use.

  • Hey Ed - Really nice work man. I'm new to airbrushing. I noticed you have several spray guns. For a beginner, how many air spray guns do you think I would need to buy? And do you recommend a certain brand? Again, thanks for the great videos. Keep it up man.

  • You only need one to start out until you get the hang of it. Buy a Iwata HP-CS is a good one to start out with.

coastairbrush(dot)com has a huge selection to choose from.

  • ive looked at many airbrushing help vids, and yours is DEFINATELY the most helpful, thanks for the advise

  • Thank you and you are very welcome.

  • could i do the brush technique with spraypaint

  • I do not know,I only air brush.Sorry

  • yeah i think you could use the brush technique with a can, but you would need a low pressure can like montana gold.

  • nice work ,thanks for the help

  • Your welcome

  • when is you new vids coming out dude.

  • Soon man,Been really busy.

  • thanQs a lot that realy helps me out

  • is that a masters brush?

  • No it is a Iwata

  • Hi Ed... My brother is interested in getting your teaching videos and I have no idea how to download the ones you've posted here; where do I go to get them? Help.

  • fullblownkustoms(dot)com

  • damn!

you look older on your newer vids!

    hehe cheers man!

  • Now that is not nice.LOL

  • don't worry you are looking good LOL

  • greetings ed,i just bought a paschee airbrush and cannot get smaller than about a quarter inch line with the smallest needle they offer. am i doing something wrong,or is it just the make of brush i bought.??? thanks, and love your stuff. have learned a lot from watching you. hang tough.!!

  • Are you using water based paints?

  • thanks for the quick reply. yes,i am using water based paint.

  • maybe a stupid question but how many times do you clean your brush? i notice i lost more time cleaning my brush than that im actually brushing with it,...clean it ,..do the water test twice,...then i fill it with paint and want to start but the paint will splash out the cup so clean it again water test twice paint again and again splashing ,..cleaning and yes i can paint for a little while before it went splashing again,..is this normal???

  • What do you mean by splashing out? Do you not have a cap for the top?

  • no there is just an open cup,..i clean the gun and everything used glassex last time and when i pull the trigger lots of times there comes an air bubble who will hunt the paint out of the cup ..... unknown by you cause you have a cap i understand ,,,?? it can only give an airbulb i think because its not clean enough,...now i want to know how many times cleaning is norml cause im more cleaning than spraying ,,,...

  • There is some thing plugged in the end of your air brush. That is why it sputters.

  • you mean something as old paint or dirt ??

i clean it as good as i can with glassex but with the eye it seems to be clean and i can watch thru the whole too .....

  • you never seem to mark the paint while still working, does it dry superfast to the touch?

  • It drys very fast.

  • The Eclipse will air brush a finer line.

  • Thanks for answering :)

  • Your videos have inspired me to move up from my Paasche to an Iwata.

Can you tell me if it would be worth the extra cash to get the eclipse instead of the revolution? what is the diff. between the two?

if it matters, I plan on painting posters, t-shirts, and hats. Can the eclipse get much finer a line than the revo?

  • Ed LOVE your stuff, true flames were awesome. jeibarra i feel your pain. I started airbrushing with the intent to paint for money. Tee shirts, I bought 56 iwata eclipses for 500 bucks, best deal around. chip at airbrushstore . com always does right by me. If its a hobby though and you dont wanna fork over the cash, ed is right you get what you pay for when it comes to guns. I bought mike learns Mojo and I love it. It's a tweaked airbrush and it's awesome for auto work. Good luck man.

  • NOT 56 sorry! just 6 SIX iwata eclipses! sorry for the double post but I had to clarify.

  • Thanks for the info.

  • unofortunately not :s..im the only one with "the crazy idea to learn to airbrush"...i was thinking of getting the passche talon...do u recommend that one?

  • I see a lot of other artist using them so I would think ya they must be a good air brush.

  • I own a Talon and I love it. It is a very user friendly airbrush

  • i want to start to airbrush, but i dont know if ill like it once i try it, is there any cheap airbrush thats somewhat good quality? i dont wanna spend 120 bucks on an iwata if im gonna have it just sitting there after the first day....thanks.....love ur videos btw

  • The problem with buying cheap equipment is you learn bad habits and you will quit because your air brush will start messing up on you and you will get frustrated and not want to do it any more. But I do understand what you are saying. Do you have a friend that will let you try his out ?

  • exelent tutorial.

  • Thanks.

  • Hey Ed can you show us how to do woodgrain with the whisk broom? lol. Love your stuff, I can't get enough, thank you so much for taking the time to share this info with us!

  • No Problem man.

  • i would do it to, and i already have a set from revell but i am pissed of of cleaning this thing every single time if i change color O,o is there an other option?

greetings from germany, nice vid, 5*

  • Not really man.

  • im gonna get a cheapy for pracic and if im good im geting a better one

  • <
