In the need to replace the nut on my guitar I have found that there are other things to consider, like the saddles on the bridge. I've been looking into Graph Tech since their product is synthetic and it makes sense that this kind of material would not have the problem of dead spots like bone would. I was concerned that the loss of the 2Khz bite of the metal saddles. After seeing this comparison I have no more worries. IMO the Resomax sounds clearer, warmer and full of tone. Resomax all the way
Think you using resomax NV2. Am wrong? If was the resomax NV1 (all metal sadles) it would be more bright. The NV2 provides string safe and segure tunnig, but looses some treble.
I can't imagine anyone preferring the Gotoh. I found the first video painful. I honestly thought it was the small solid state amp. Turns out that it was the bridge causing that brash highs. Resomax FTW. That being said, I'm leaving the ABR-1 on my guitar.
Graphtech makes 3 different bridges, which one did you install? They have the NVS, NV1 and the NV2. The Resomax bridge sounds much smoother in my opinion.
Yeah.....I'm gonna have to agree with JDubR with the gotoh having better overall tone and just as much sustain as the resomax. Thank you very much for saving me 60 dollars on a bridge.
WOW!!! Sentry, thank you so much dude. I am shocked to see and hear that after all the graphtech hype, it's actually bullshit. the gotoh in my opinion is by far the better choice for tone and sustain. I heard, more high's and bass in the Gotoh with wayyyy more sustain. however, the graphtech sounded a bit more muddy throughout and was for me all in all a very serious dissapointment.
Thank you again Sentry, very much, for your time and efforts!
From my ears the graphtech has a much smoother feel with less harshness on the highend I'm not sure you could tell the difference with distortion, but with cleans it's a big change
Gotoh or graphtech?

@asf1187
If you use the same pickups in both you will find the sound very difficult to distinguish.

To me the resomax sounds more focused. It loses some snap and chime but it might very well be solved by some eq around 3k.

I don't hear much difference at all.
