I was so xcited when i heard that new CBR250R is getting launched and did wanted to get one but when friend bought it i did a test ride i gotta say the bike was good but the sound of the xhaust was epic gay.The only things made me go mad and chnaged my mind and went for Ninja and people seriously Ninja 250 is anytime dominant to this CBR250R.
Ridden both of these - the Honda feels much lighter and is easier to ride. Good if you're a beginner looking for a first bike. It's also cheaper where I'm from.
The Honda is not as sexy but it's fuel injected and has a slightly more upright position which to me makes it more useful for everyday life. The Kawasaki is better at giving you the illusion of a sport bike though ..
@togo8186 lol in what aspect? top speed? sure i suppose. HP. yeah you got us beat there. looks? ehh. nothing a little EL wire cant change.
honestly comparing the CBR250 to the ninja 250 is like comparing a scooter to a motorcycle. it doesnt work. the two bikes are meant for difference purposes. over all though, i think the CBR250 wins just because of the plan factor that CBR is fuel injected. period.
@RavenLukoszek Yes def, I've had my bike for over a month now. USA have carb versions, dont ask me why...but we luckily have the FI....you can see the FI light on the controls even :)
@RavenLukoszek Just to make sure, when I say SA I mean South Africa...hope you dont mean Southern Australia or South America or some other place...cos I think they have carb versions too....but good luck and happy riding when you do get your bike
Fuck you you english dick,At least we didn't get our asses handed to us in World War 2 Were the reason why you still speak in that awful accent instead of German so be gratefull you douche.
@speedemonhahahaha I'm sure basing your facts on Youtube videos will get you far.Kawasaki and Honda's demographic for the 250 is 16-24 and women.....first time riders. Those of us that ride true sport bikes laugh at those riding Ninja 250 and referring to it as a "sport bike" It's a beginner bike plain and simple
@speedemonhahahaha Once again you failed to READ.....I quoted motorcycle U.S.A...not some shitty UK stats. We now have EFI Ninjas but their power stats didn't change. It depends on the market. You guys get what will essentially sold here as the CBR250RR because your not allowed big bikes. Here we're allowed to ride whatever we want. If you want to ride a Busa at 16 thats legal, you can't so you get special builds based on your laws.
DOUBLE the HP......HAHAHAHAHA. Numbers as tested by Motorcycle USA. Honda HP=22.66 Ninja= 26.34. You really are a math genius. 0-60 mph is 7.7 vs 8.5 seconds. Honda torque= 15.23 ft# and ninja 13.42 ft#
miles per gallon: Honda=64.7 Ninja=49.1
BMW now makes a 2 cylinder scooter......so according to you that's a sport bike because it has 2 cylinders....genius
@speedemonhahahaha I said 4 wheelers....ATV...you ARE fucking retarded. All of our Kawasaki Brute force atv's needed rebuilds after roughly 250-280 hours but all the honda rincon's with single cylinders went over 300 hours. The lower rpm's means lower heat and friction= longer engine life.
@speedemonhahahaha The CBR250 body work is virtually identical to the 600 and 1000 but since you guys in the UK can't ride big boy bikes you would know that. I never argued about the looks everyone has their own style. The single cylinder has been tested in hondas entry level race programs so I can't see durability being an issue. the mirrors, exhaust, and screen are the first things people always change to customize so why would Honda spend the money.
@speedemonhahahaha Misspelling means I dont know bikes...WTF Maybe you should take a look at their websites douche. Kawasaki says "For those beginning their two-wheeled journey, the Ninja® 250R sportbike has always been a great option to start" their words exactly. Honda "CBR250R offers everything you want in a first-time bike" Who's the dumb one here? As I said in my other post, seating ergo's are virtually identical. Maybe when your old enough to ride you can find this out first hand
Your ability to talk out of your ass with no knowledge of a bike is amazing. The rev line has nothing to do with a bike being "sporty" it has to do with engine design. a single cylinder will always have more torque by design. The Honda does have a 2 pc. seat design (pillion). If you have ever seen one in person you would know this. According to Kawasaki's and Honda's specs they both have near identical seating positions (30.4"-30.9" seat height and 8-10% forward lean)
Not a fan boy, I personally ride Susuki. But congrats, you read some reviews. I'm speaking from personal experience. How can you say the Ninja is more sporty if you haven't ridden BOTH of the bikes. Both bikes are "sportbikes" meant for the first time buyer and feature an upright seating position for better comfort and control for beginners. Since Kawasaki and Honda use essentially the same motors in their 4 wheels then the single cylinder will last longer hands down
That was probably the worst/biased review I have watched in a long time. Wonder how much Kawi paid MotoUSA for the advertising. After riding both bikes back to back over a 1600 mile trip, I can say that the Honda is hands down a better bike. The Honda has a more linear power band, better ergos for anyone over 5' tall, is available with abs(huge plus for new riders), bigger tires, and has EFI. It did have slightly more vibe on the freeway but 250's aren't designed to be run at high speeds
dont buy either unless you are a really small guy you will grow out of it by the time u get home with it its a great starter bike for kids or girls or if you just really want a commuter
@producionesx Kawi fits all riders from approx. 5' - 5'11" pretty comfortably. You'd probably look a little big (depending on your body frame) if you're taller. Overall, there's not much of a size gap between the 250r and the 650r. The seat is 30.5 in. and is also narrow; you can get a measurement and check for yourself. I've seen people your height on much taller bikes so... yeah.
@therasppberry If you are starting out, remember that it's a sporty bike and will take some practice. It uses muscles mainly in the forearms and shoulders due to leaning forward. After a little while you'll get into the groove and it will feel comfy. I'm 5'11" 135 lbs. and it fits me like a glove. Power wise you'll have no problem. It's more powerful than most other 250's but that just makes it more fun. ^_^ It's lightweight and smooth on the road. Just be safe and alert. You'll do just fine. =)
Cheaper? They're the same price. More versatile? What the he'll does that mean? Plain like it better? That tells me a lot about specifics. What the experienced rider prefers, just might differ to what the new rider likes.
Torque - Honda = Low end Torque only, at freeway speed the Kawasaki has more torque.
Weight - Honda = True, by only 16 pounds
Quality - Kawasaki has been around 28 years and is solid, people are bitching about the quality of their first year Honda's.
Fuel Injection on Honda Rocks!
Breaks - Honda (ABS System for same price as standard Kawasaki = False ABS adds $500 to the MSRP here in USA. Non-ABS Honda and Kawasaki are the same price.
@JoeLansing are you sure that the price is same if no ABS ? i made a video about these 2 bikes and didnt know the price , also didnt know the confort , but i think honda has more confort , especially for 2 people on it?
@fikri1996 moto usa says the ninja won, Mainly because kawasaki is their fucking sponsor, That's why when you go on their sight, before you are able to play their vid on the review and comparison. a fucking kawasaki ad pops up. GREAT JOB MOTO USA on fairness you fucks! don't listen to their shitty reviews. They only agree with whoever is paying them. Cyclewold magazine is pretty good.
Fuel Injection - Honda (Why the Kawa still uses a Carby is beyond me)
Breaks - Honda (ABS System for same price as standard Kawa- No ABS offered)
The Size of the bike is subjective - I personally prefer the smaller Honda for it's size, But the Kawa feels more like a bigger bike and is physically larger.
@Jimmmyjames18 Style - Kawi (IMO) Top Speed - Kawi Price - Draw (in US) Upgradeability - Kawi Shocks - Kawi Stability - Kawi MPG - Honda -hands down- Compression Ratio - Kawi Brakes - Honda Performance - Kawi Overall if you want a bike that will keep you amused for awhile, the higher powered Kawi is the better choice. If you want a bike that is eco-friendly and easy on the wallet go Honda.
@Jimmmyjames18 Yeah if you're talking race-wise, CBR is better. But if you're like most people, just looking for a solid beginners bike to start out on, especially on a budget, the Ninjas the way to go.
@EZOneProductions well yeah i know its my first bike too/ but if they do something do it alike in every place... fuel injected its so much better so i feel kinda jealous and mad for not having a fuel injected 250r in the US
Glad to see the CBR 250r coming to the states to help round out the class. Hyosung just wasn't cutting it as far as bringing competition to Kawi. I Have a 2011 Ninja 250r and I love it's high revving twin, it just screams. I feel like it's a better choice for those who plan on stepping up to a supersport in the future. That said, I know a lot of people who would be better served by all-purpose commuter qualities in the CBR. Just waiting to start seeing some of them on the road now...
Seemed pretty one sided. the kaw has more HP but less TQ than the Honda. The honda weights about 20 pounds less. kaw is carb'd honda is fuel injected. kaw top speed 105ish honda 94ish. kaw MPG 60ish honda 74ish. price is the same, dont know where these cats are buying thier bikes. kaw does have more aftermarket parts, but give the honda a few years and im sure there will be just as many. OVER ALL, i like the honda. but thats just me, ya'll do u and ill do me
News is all bikes in Australia will have to have ABS fitted as standard... Interesting to see how this all pans out with all bike manufacturers with new laws being enforced.
Thanks for the review cause I got the Kawasaki Special and love it.
I agree with Kawi getting the ABS that is the only down side. But there is no comparison, Kawi looks much better. I believe Honda will have to make a more sportbike lookin 250 to compete.
