Hey, My Female Crestie (fireball) Started doing this today. That noise doesnt mean that the crestie is hurt , That is their mateing call. When your touch her and she does that it means that she thinks you want to mate. My Gecko was just doing that today. I am really an expert on reptiles and i have been looking up research about them for years. Just saying to the people who thinks she is hering her crestie. - Kassie
My baby crested gecko does this sound, does it mean for sure that he is grumpy?? because i havent taken him out for a while because i went on a 2 week trip and my grandma didnt want to touch him. plz help i need to know what that sound is.
can you help me? i have a skunk gecko, and i am afraid that he will jump out of his cage when i am feeding him or something. Any tips on how to tame him? He will ocasionally let me pet him, but that is it.
@reininghorses57 I have to of these types of geckos.....u need to pick them u and hold them in their cage and let them crawl all over ur hand. it will take a while but they will get used to u!
what do they eat there is a crested gocko at the pet store by my house the sells one but i cant get one that eats crickets, had a lizard it died bcause store was always out of crickets
Well at my pet store they showed me everything and i did research but never heard of these. Does it mean they are gonna mate soon? Cuz it was 4 hours after u put them together.. weird. can u respond please!!!! aniways thx
I just put mine with a male(4hours ago) that is pretty excited(runs when touched) and i touched my female and she started making this sound is it dangerous harmful or anithing? plz help!
@livingthings788 These sounds are normal when a male and female crested gecko are together. They are mating sounds. The female is basically saying "back off, don't touch me". You should make sure that you've done a lot of research about breeding crested geckos before putting a male and female together. If you need some resources let me know.
Ya it's difficult keeping screen cages humid enough for cresties. You have to mist them more heavily and more often than the geckos in the glass cages. I try to keep a lot of foliage in there too, on 3 of the sides to help keep the water droplets in.
My young crestie pips and squeaks quite a bit for various reasons. Usually when he's fallen off something... We get a distinct "PAWP" when he's had enough of being fussed around. :)
No, they won't make noise if you're housing a single one alone. The most it will do will make very faint tweeting sounds if it's nervous when you hold it. Most are silent unless mating.
@SizzlinNinja they very rarely make noise, but they are nocturnal. If you're considering keeping one in your room keep in mind that it will be jumping around and active at night. If you're a light sleeper you might want to reconsider keeping one in your room.
whats her name

@livingthings788 like i said, these sounds are normal when you put a male and female together. They will most likely breed, yes.

Do these make noises at night? I am interested in these but it would have to stay in my room so it can't make much noise
