This rock... this rock has been waiting for me my entire life. It's entire life, ever since it was a bit of meteorite a million, billion years ago. In space. It's been waiting, to come here. Right, right here. I've been moving towards it my entire life. - Aron Ralston
This music style (4:38 - 9:00) is called "minimalism" or "minimal music". Basically its about static tonalit and repetition. Its kinda hypnotic... kinda beautiful...
Besides, I watched this video with a girl I was dating. I said to her: 'Just wait until the chopper arrives and he is rescued (7:31 music), you'll have to cry.' So it came, I fought the wonderfull tears of joy and she was like 'dude U gay or what?' At that moment I knew she was a heartless b*tch and she could go F herself :)
@ASSASSINRemi no one can be that soulless when hearing this song, I think all their tears hit the mouse when it was over the dislike button by accident

Glass Half Full: I'm thankful for ANY way people can learn about Sigur Ros.
Glass Half Empty: It annoys me that people can't look beyond their local garbage radio station to venture to the places where bands like Sigur Ros exist.
Sigur Ros is just an amazing group. You should listen to other songs from them. And this one, much like the whole movie 127 Hours, is amazing. AMAZING!
Very few things in life are as beautiful as this song: The stars at night in a place with no lights, child birth, a peaceful death, and the value of life. This song fits the ending of 127 Hours perfectly. When you look at humanity in general, no one gives a s**t about beauty. Can everyone just go up into space, take a deep breath and appreciate the beauty of silence (so to speak)? By the way, the best part begins at 4:38.
this song made the ending of 127 hours so much more amazing, the scene was amazingly sad and uplifting at the same moment, and the musical genius of the composer Sigur Ros' "festival" complimented it so much i've never felt such an amazing mix of emotions in which i was crying in a ball at the same time as jumping and cheering... truely breath-taking
this song does a pretty good job of replicating what it feels like to go through a near death experience. Well... as good of a job as can be done by music... pretty brilliant, nonetheless. Surely some people know what I'm talking about :)
Watch out, there be TROLLS about! :P I don't like listening to Justin Bieber, so instead of wasting my precious music time seeking out his videos and commenting on them... I listen to music I DO like. If you don't like this song, why are you wasting your time trolling about it when you could simply find music you do like? This seems to be logic to me... :)
I like love this song. it's great and suddenly, because of this movie, my everyday problems don't seem so terrible. Aron Ralston is pretty awesome to me now and this was just a great movie, for sure.
As soon as I heard this song on the movie I knew it was Sigur Ros, their music is so unique you can't mistake it for anyone else. I don't think they could have picked a better band or song for that scene. It gave me goosebumps.
@robsonik888 Thank you for that... I can just feel him starting his hike to freedom. Hearing this song in the movie and watching the final scene was nothing short of miraculous.
@TerrinTankira great words, movie is really impressive and music too. everyone is traveler. we're searching our freedom by many years. this music help us in finding :) greetings from poland
@bamanck I'm pretty sure I would like them, and what? Hollywood produced movies are the best which is why they make so much money instead of some obsure movie from sweden lmfao! And I'll prove it to you. I can guarantee you that the remake of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo directed by David Fincher will make way more money than the original. Just look at the vampire movie Let Me In and how it made more than twice the cash of the original movie lol!
@themenaceanish I will say it again! Money does not in any way reflect quality! Not one bit! Not at all! Ever! Yes, Let Me In made more money and it was a pretty good remake but it wasn't as good as the original! Yes, Fincher's version will probably make more money but that doesn't mean it's going to be better! You basically said all foreign and indie films suck! In your thick head unless a film makes a lot of money regardless of the actual quality of the film it's good. You really are a moron!
@themenaceanish Well you are wrong about both things. Let the Right One In had better reviews; just check rotten tomatoes. Money does not always talk especially when it comes to something completely subjective like art! If that is the case and money proves what the best art is then Justin Bieber and Lady Gaga are both amazing as well as Mr. Michael Bay. In art, quality has no correlation to money!
@themenaceanish Well I have nothing else to say. Michael Bay is amazing? I think most people on here have just lost respect for your opinion. I'll take my pretentious indie art and you can have your two or three hour 3D extravaganzas where Michael Bay masturbates on screen.
@themenaceanish Nuff said? You are a moron! All that proves is that when shit stinks it stinks big! That is just a sad reflection on the intelligence of the average moviegoer! 127 Hours is the better film. You can say that's subjective but sometimes opinions can just be stupid; like thinking Transformers: Dark of the Moon is the better movie let alone a good movie in general.
@bolognamof It is the better movie. You just need to look at the trailer of this movie to see how boring it's going to be. Transformers is far more entertaining. Looks like no one gives a shit about your precious 127 hours lol!
@themenaceanish This movie is not boring at all! What's boring is one hour of explosions at the end of Transformers! And you know who does care about 127 Hours? People who are film fanatics, people who enjoy art over pure entertainment, and people with brains!
@themenaceanish You sound like a friend of mine, you just like flashy big budget action films that show no trace of human emotion. Yeah Inception and Dark Knight I'll give you those, but Transformers 3? Get the fuck outta here. Real movies inspire us. . How you can call this film shitty and boring is beyond me. This film captures Aron's emotions through editing, music, everything. If you know a little more about film you could comprehend what a good film is.
@laddermb3317 Big flashy action movies make way more $ than these stupid independant movies. If you don't like that reality then tough. Directots like Michael Bay and Steven Spielberg ENTERTAIN.
@themenaceanish I agree that SS is a great director. He makes great films. Michael Bay makes films that entertain teenagers and people who don't know a lick about film making just so they can see one robot kill another robot the same way they did the last movie. I'm not saying your 100% wrong. Big box office movies can usually be good films, like avatar, titanic, jurassic park etc. But Michael Bay dude, have you ever heard of the Razzie awards?
@laddermb3317 Because bos office stuff is SHIT american story telling and this is good old english story telling, Doesnt even matter that the director is english (and was born 30 miles from me) the fact is that American special effect no story shit is rife - we need stuff like 127 hours from ANY director, seems more low budget the better the film - box office takings in america dont mean shit if people like you go to see it. NUFF SAID
@themenaceanish You DO know that this movie is rated R right? You are aware that this was targeted at a MATURE audience and not ages 12 - immature? Yeah, this movie right here, was absolutely brilliant in terms of it's physical atmosphere that it had created with just a simple theme.. Dark of the moon? Bunch of already seen explosions, that's how I seen it. The first Transformers was great, the 2nd told me not to see the third and see this movie instead which I have definitely NOT regretted :)
@Bred2Protect Shame 99% of people don't agree with you xD. The Transformers series have made a combined $2.7 billion worldwide. The last movie alone made $1.1 billion. How much has 127 Hours made? I bet fuck all lmfao! No one went to see this movie XD
@themenaceanish This comment proves to me that your completely deranged. Who cares how much money it made?! Art is neither better or worse because it makes or doesn't make money. Yes, everyone has their own opinion blah blah blah but your opinion is stupid. 127 Hours is a far better film and qualifies as a genuine piece of art. Transformers is noisy shit put on the screen for people who can't pay attention to something meaningful. Everyone already knows you're a moron so you can stop commenting.
@prathammajmudar Yeah, Heath Ledger is a legend. Danny Boyle is not. The most overrated trashy movie ever is slumdog millionaire. It's the most cliched movie ever. How that movie won best picture I'll never know. Christopher Nolan is better than Danny Boyle on every level. The Dark Knight Rises is going to be awesome and it's going to complete the greatest trilogy ever. Fuck Danny Boyle.
@themenaceanish You are so moronic. You can't compare Ledger and Boyle, but yes Heath is a legend; but Danny Boyle happens to be one of the most talented living directors! Slumdog Millionaire is the most cliched movie ever? You obviously need to see more movies! Nolan's better than Boyle on every level? Hmmm....Writing (maybe), sound design (maybe), cinematography (not a chance in hell), bringing out emotions (no). Nolan loses in a couple areas. And the batman trilogy is the best ever? Hahahaha!
@prathammajmudar The several million hits of the main them of Inception says it all. How many has this one got? Just over a 100,000? LOL!
Danny Boyle hasn't got shit on Christopher Nolan. Slumdog Millionaire was overrated trash and is one of the most boring overrated movies I've ever seen. Dark Knight was the best movie of 2008. Heath Ledger's performance alone blows all of Danny Boyles movies out of the water.
@themenaceanish Numbers reflect quality? You are obviously deranged! Christopher Nolan is undoubtedly a great director but he has yet to capture the emotional depth that Boyle does in this movie. And as for Ledger's performance, which is undeniably great, it is not as good as Franco's performance in this film. Heath's performance does not blow Boyle's movies out of the water.
P.S. The Dark Knight was not the best film of 2008. Bronson, The Wrestler, Slumdog, and Gomorrah are all better.
@bolognamof Sorry but TDK made over $1 billion. I bet that's more than all of Boyle's movies combined. Inception made $800 million in addition. Most people have never heard of Danny Boyle lmfao!
Franco's performance better than Ledger's? LMFAO! That's a good joke XD.
@themenaceanish The money a film makes does not reflect it's quality! Most of the best films that come out are independent or small films. Big blockbusters typically aren't as creative or interesting. Don't get me wrong, I like Inception but 127 hours is the far superior film and Franco's performance is superior to Ledger's in the Dark Knight. The joker is not even Heath's best performance! His best performance is in Brokeback Mountain. You obviously don't watch enough or know enough about film.
@bolognamof I do know about film dude. Heath's performance in Brokeback was undoubtedly great but his performance as The Joker is his best. It's easily the best performance of any actor in the last decade.
Independant movies suck anyway. Most of them are pretentious trash. It's why most people prefer to watch blockbusters instead of indie oscar whoring trash.
@themenaceanish Most people like mainstream films because they take no effort on the audiences part. Public opinion has nothing to do with quality. Independent cinema does not suck, it is simply a form that allows for more experimentation. And Ledger's performance as the Joker is not even the best of 2008, let alone the decade. Tom Hardy (Bronson), Mickey Rourke (The Wrestler), Philip Seymour Hoffman (Synecdoche, New York), and Sean Penn (Milk) all had better performances.
@bolognamof Mainstream movies are better because they're simply not pretentious trash. Anyway it's laughable you think that all those actors you've just listed all had better performances than Ledger XD. The only person who might come close is Mickey Rourke for The Wrestler.
Indie arthoouse movies suck and you just need to look at their box office numbers to see that. Who gives a shit what critics say?
@themenaceanish Pretentious trash? Come on. You are being ridiculous. I love mainstream films and I love indie films but if I had to say which consistently has more trash it would be mainstream. Laughable that I think there performances are better? Have you even seen those movies? Obviously not! What's laughable is your knowledge and opinion of film, and that fact that you think Ledger's performance as the Joker is the best of the decade. I'll say it again. It's not even the best of 2008!
@bolognamof If you ask anyone they'll all agree with me that Heath Ledger gave one of the greatest acting performances ever! Looks like you're in the minority lol! I know more about movies than you dude, believe me.
@themenaceanish If you talk to a film buff they'll agree that he gave one of the best performances of the year, which I agree. They won't all agree that it is one of the best performances of the decade. Most of them would not say that it is one of the greatest performances ever. You think you know more about about film but you have said nothing to prove that. In fact you have only presented me with evidence towards the contrary.
@bolognamof I know enough about movies dude. I've seen more than enough independant movies to know how trashy and pretentious they are. Even 127 Hours is pretentious with its camera work and editing lmfao! But I'll admit this movie would have been even more boring without the camera tricks. If it was just a plain old movie about James Franco stuck in a canyon I would've fell asleep within the first 10 minutes.
@themenaceanish This film is not pretentious at all. Even if you know "enough" about movies you have a complete lack of respect for the art medium. With your attitude I'm guessing you also hate progressive music, 20/21st century compositions, and modern art from Picasso till now. You may have seen some movies but until you make an argument other than it's pretentious trash you are going to get nowhere. "...if it is art, it is not for all, and if it is for all, it is not art." -Arnold Schoenberg
@bolognamof Most of Danny Boyle's movies are pretentious. Slumdog Millionaire is the worst best picture Oscar winner ever. No wait actually that prize goes to the king of pretentious movies Crash.
@themenaceanish The fact you call everything you don't like pretentious makes you pretentious! Boyle's movies are not pretentious. You obviously haven't seen many art house directors films, and Slumdog Millionaire, even though I don't think it should have won, was the most deserved oscar winner of the 2000's. You need to watch more movies!
One of the most incredibly epic build-ups ever.

And I'll prove it to you. I can guarantee you that the remake of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo directed by David Fincher will make way more money than the original. Just look at the vampire movie Let Me In and how it made more than twice the cash of the original movie lol!
It's all about Hollywood dude.
themenaceanish 6 months ago
@themenaceanish I will say it again! Money does not in any way reflect quality! Not one bit! Not at all! Ever! Yes, Let Me In made more money and it was a pretty good remake but it wasn't as good as the original! Yes, Fincher's version will probably make more money but that doesn't mean it's going to be better! You basically said all foreign and indie films suck! In your thick head unless a film makes a lot of money regardless of the actual quality of the film it's good. You really are a moron!
bolognamof 6 months ago
@bolognamof I bet it will be better. Let Me In actually had better reviews than even the original lol!
Money always talks.
themenaceanish 6 months ago
@themenaceanish Well you are wrong about both things. Let the Right One In had better reviews; just check rotten tomatoes. Money does not always talk especially when it comes to something completely subjective like art! If that is the case and money proves what the best art is then Justin Bieber and Lady Gaga are both amazing as well as Mr. Michael Bay. In art, quality has no correlation to money!
bolognamof 6 months ago
@bolognamof Lady GaGa is amazing and so is Michael Bay. Justin Bieber is a fag though.
themenaceanish 6 months ago
@themenaceanish Well I have nothing else to say. Michael Bay is amazing? I think most people on here have just lost respect for your opinion. I'll take my pretentious indie art and you can have your two or three hour 3D extravaganzas where Michael Bay masturbates on screen.
bolognamof 6 months ago
@bolognamof 127 Hours made $57 million at the worldwide box office. Transformers: Dark of the Moon made $1.1 BILLION. Nuff said.
themenaceanish 6 months ago
@themenaceanish Nuff said? You are a moron! All that proves is that when shit stinks it stinks big! That is just a sad reflection on the intelligence of the average moviegoer! 127 Hours is the better film. You can say that's subjective but sometimes opinions can just be stupid; like thinking Transformers: Dark of the Moon is the better movie let alone a good movie in general.
bolognamof 6 months ago 3
@bolognamof It is the better movie. You just need to look at the trailer of this movie to see how boring it's going to be. Transformers is far more entertaining. Looks like no one gives a shit about your precious 127 hours lol!
themenaceanish 6 months ago
@themenaceanish This movie is not boring at all! What's boring is one hour of explosions at the end of Transformers! And you know who does care about 127 Hours? People who are film fanatics, people who enjoy art over pure entertainment, and people with brains!
bolognamof 6 months ago
@themenaceanish You sound like a friend of mine, you just like flashy big budget action films that show no trace of human emotion. Yeah Inception and Dark Knight I'll give you those, but Transformers 3? Get the fuck outta here. Real movies inspire us. . How you can call this film shitty and boring is beyond me. This film captures Aron's emotions through editing, music, everything. If you know a little more about film you could comprehend what a good film is.
laddermb3317 6 months ago
@laddermb3317 Big flashy action movies make way more $ than these stupid independant movies. If you don't like that reality then tough. Directots like Michael Bay and Steven Spielberg ENTERTAIN.
themenaceanish 6 months ago

Bred2Protect 5 months ago
@Bred2Protect Shame 99% of people don't agree with you xD. The Transformers series have made a combined $2.7 billion worldwide. The last movie alone made $1.1 billion. How much has 127 Hours made? I bet fuck all lmfao! No one went to see this movie XD
themenaceanish 5 months ago
@themenaceanish Oh.. you're a patriot.. I should have known..
Well, no use in replying to your kind now! Peace! :D
Bred2Protect 5 months ago
@themenaceanish This comment proves to me that your completely deranged. Who cares how much money it made?! Art is neither better or worse because it makes or doesn't make money. Yes, everyone has their own opinion blah blah blah but your opinion is stupid. 127 Hours is a far better film and qualifies as a genuine piece of art. Transformers is noisy shit put on the screen for people who can't pay attention to something meaningful. Everyone already knows you're a moron so you can stop commenting.

I feel like he just found out what the word pretentious means so he must say it as much as possible.
DanielxJets 6 months ago
@prathammajmudar Yeah, Heath Ledger is a legend. Danny Boyle is not. The most overrated trashy movie ever is slumdog millionaire. It's the most cliched movie ever. How that movie won best picture I'll never know. Christopher Nolan is better than Danny Boyle on every level. The Dark Knight Rises is going to be awesome and it's going to complete the greatest trilogy ever. Fuck Danny Boyle.
themenaceanish 6 months ago
@themenaceanish You are so moronic. You can't compare Ledger and Boyle, but yes Heath is a legend; but Danny Boyle happens to be one of the most talented living directors! Slumdog Millionaire is the most cliched movie ever? You obviously need to see more movies! Nolan's better than Boyle on every level? Hmmm....Writing (maybe), sound design (maybe), cinematography (not a chance in hell), bringing out emotions (no). Nolan loses in a couple areas. And the batman trilogy is the best ever? Hahahaha!
bolognamof 6 months ago
@prathammajmudar The several million hits of the main them of Inception says it all. How many has this one got? Just over a 100,000? LOL!
Danny Boyle hasn't got shit on Christopher Nolan. Slumdog Millionaire was overrated trash and is one of the most boring overrated movies I've ever seen. Dark Knight was the best movie of 2008. Heath Ledger's performance alone blows all of Danny Boyles movies out of the water.
themenaceanish 6 months ago
@themenaceanish Numbers reflect quality? You are obviously deranged! Christopher Nolan is undoubtedly a great director but he has yet to capture the emotional depth that Boyle does in this movie. And as for Ledger's performance, which is undeniably great, it is not as good as Franco's performance in this film. Heath's performance does not blow Boyle's movies out of the water.
P.S. The Dark Knight was not the best film of 2008. Bronson, The Wrestler, Slumdog, and Gomorrah are all better.
bolognamof 6 months ago
@bolognamof Sorry but TDK made over $1 billion. I bet that's more than all of Boyle's movies combined. Inception made $800 million in addition. Most people have never heard of Danny Boyle lmfao!
Franco's performance better than Ledger's? LMFAO! That's a good joke XD.
themenaceanish 6 months ago
@themenaceanish The money a film makes does not reflect it's quality! Most of the best films that come out are independent or small films. Big blockbusters typically aren't as creative or interesting. Don't get me wrong, I like Inception but 127 hours is the far superior film and Franco's performance is superior to Ledger's in the Dark Knight. The joker is not even Heath's best performance! His best performance is in Brokeback Mountain. You obviously don't watch enough or know enough about film.
bolognamof 6 months ago
@bolognamof I do know about film dude. Heath's performance in Brokeback was undoubtedly great but his performance as The Joker is his best. It's easily the best performance of any actor in the last decade.
Independant movies suck anyway. Most of them are pretentious trash. It's why most people prefer to watch blockbusters instead of indie oscar whoring trash.
themenaceanish 6 months ago
@themenaceanish Most people like mainstream films because they take no effort on the audiences part. Public opinion has nothing to do with quality. Independent cinema does not suck, it is simply a form that allows for more experimentation. And Ledger's performance as the Joker is not even the best of 2008, let alone the decade. Tom Hardy (Bronson), Mickey Rourke (The Wrestler), Philip Seymour Hoffman (Synecdoche, New York), and Sean Penn (Milk) all had better performances.
bolognamof 6 months ago
@bolognamof Mainstream movies are better because they're simply not pretentious trash. Anyway it's laughable you think that all those actors you've just listed all had better performances than Ledger XD. The only person who might come close is Mickey Rourke for The Wrestler.
Indie arthoouse movies suck and you just need to look at their box office numbers to see that. Who gives a shit what critics say?
themenaceanish 6 months ago
@themenaceanish Pretentious trash? Come on. You are being ridiculous. I love mainstream films and I love indie films but if I had to say which consistently has more trash it would be mainstream. Laughable that I think there performances are better? Have you even seen those movies? Obviously not! What's laughable is your knowledge and opinion of film, and that fact that you think Ledger's performance as the Joker is the best of the decade. I'll say it again. It's not even the best of 2008!
bolognamof 6 months ago
@bolognamof If you ask anyone they'll all agree with me that Heath Ledger gave one of the greatest acting performances ever! Looks like you're in the minority lol! I know more about movies than you dude, believe me.
themenaceanish 6 months ago
@themenaceanish If you talk to a film buff they'll agree that he gave one of the best performances of the year, which I agree. They won't all agree that it is one of the best performances of the decade. Most of them would not say that it is one of the greatest performances ever. You think you know more about about film but you have said nothing to prove that. In fact you have only presented me with evidence towards the contrary.
bolognamof 6 months ago
@bolognamof I know enough about movies dude. I've seen more than enough independant movies to know how trashy and pretentious they are. Even 127 Hours is pretentious with its camera work and editing lmfao! But I'll admit this movie would have been even more boring without the camera tricks. If it was just a plain old movie about James Franco stuck in a canyon I would've fell asleep within the first 10 minutes.
themenaceanish 6 months ago
@themenaceanish This film is not pretentious at all. Even if you know "enough" about movies you have a complete lack of respect for the art medium. With your attitude I'm guessing you also hate progressive music, 20/21st century compositions, and modern art from Picasso till now. You may have seen some movies but until you make an argument other than it's pretentious trash you are going to get nowhere. "...if it is art, it is not for all, and if it is for all, it is not art." -Arnold Schoenberg
bolognamof 6 months ago
@bolognamof Most of Danny Boyle's movies are pretentious. Slumdog Millionaire is the worst best picture Oscar winner ever. No wait actually that prize goes to the king of pretentious movies Crash.
themenaceanish 6 months ago
@themenaceanish The fact you call everything you don't like pretentious makes you pretentious! Boyle's movies are not pretentious. You obviously haven't seen many art house directors films, and Slumdog Millionaire, even though I don't think it should have won, was the most deserved oscar winner of the 2000's. You need to watch more movies!
