  • The most disturbing song I've ever heard. I love it :)

  • when i was 6 i fell into my pool while i was being babysat, my babysitter and her bf were too busy making out inside to notice i fell in.i sank to the bottom,i was looking up, i started to paddle my arms, i didnt scream, but i wasnt trying to swim for air, i only remember swimming for a black object that looked like it was floating above the pool, welcoming me. when i reached the surface, it was gone. i got out, i just remember rocking bak and fourth on the ground until my babysitter noticed..

  • I raped the replay button >:3

  • Hmm, if this song dates at 2007, then it's safe to say that it has been 310 years, and "she" is still unidentified.

  • @Hellsing874 She's not saying it *has been* 306 years, but that their are 306 people that died within 6 years. Someone had the whole back story on it, but I can't find their comment so.... Yeah.

  • @This0Must0Be0Awesome The one that was on the top comments about L'Inconnue de la Seine?

  • @Hellsing874 Indeed.

  • Sheeeeeet, this is deep stuff.

  • What does her shirt say?

  • @thePANDASgirl13 Cockey Von Murdertits XD

  • I like so many EA muffins claim to be ''insane''. Stop fucking pretending to have disorders, it isn't cute or cool and won't get you sympathy and doesn't make you anything like EA.

  • @neonrocker4life It's true that quite a few here probably do. But they are by far the minority. The reason there are so many muffins who 'claim' to have disorders is because when you identify with an artist, don't you want to read or hear more of their stuff? Don't you become a fan? It's not that all of the muffins have disorders, but more like people with disorders have a higher chance of becoming muffins.

  • @arcanum101:I'm not saying that they're all fake. But when stupid people pretend to have disorders and act all happy about it you know they wasn't attention. I see what you mean and I understand that some muffins have disorders. Just hate it when people pretend to.

  • @neonrocker4life Ah. Thanks for clearing that up. ^^ And I agree, people pretending to have disorders give everyone who really does have one a bad name... not to mention, they're annoying.

  • @arcanum101:Very annoying xD haha.

  • @neonrocker4life I know, right? I have mental problems, but I don't go blasting it all over the place(plus mine is relatively unknown, so even if I did tell people they wouldn't know the symptoms so they wouldn't be very sympathetic). It is very, very, very, insulting and annoying when people say that they have mental disorders or problems just to fit in. It may seem 'fun' at first, but living with a mental problem is not fun, even if you can identify with a certain person\people.

  • @thePANDASgirl13 I myself have a mental problem, but it has been a year and I have learned to accept it. I even joke about it sometimes to relieve that past tension and terror I used to live in. I hope your doing well muffin with your own problem, I wish you the best of luck.

  • @Decala Thank you! I wish you luck also. :)

  • @thePANDASgirl13:I completely agree, I have some mental disorders as well, but I don't throw it around and try to be cool because of it. Thats just stupid. Nor do I brag about it.

  • STOP FIGHTING OVER SPELLING!!!

Yes, I am obsessed with spelling and grammar, but seriously?

    God...

  • L'Inconnue de la Seine. This is who this song was about, but I have a feeling Joan of Arc was the unknown woman in the Seine river. So maybe the unknown woman was smiling because when she was burnt at the stake, she knew she would go to heaven. Not because she wanted to die.

  • These ADs are on this lovely song:

    "Cherokee Indian Tribe"

    "Appy For A Credit Card"

    "Download free to Kindle"

    ...

    ....

    Fail

  • wen i wuz bout 6 yrs old i went into da pool w/out my floatie (pathetic tht i still needed it). wen i strtd 2 sink, my brother wuz the 1st 2 notice. instead of tellin my parents, he jumped in- fully clothed- directly on my head. my aunt wuz da 1 2 finally get me out. i didn't try 2 get out either. i remember thnking it'd b fun 2 see if i cud sit on the bottom. insane frum da beginnin bitches

  • @Missbarbydoll Maybe the water sent you retarded, seeing as you don't know how to type properly. But meh, everyone can be who they are, I can't judge, I'm totally insane

  • @Deathknell590 the water ddnt 'send me retarded', seeing as you didn't tk da tim 2 rd d end prt. insane (which includes; skytsophrenic, bipolar, retarded, perverted, ADD, selective OCD, anger management issues, nd pretty much anything else you can think of) from the beginning.

  • @Missbarbydoll Your grammar is shit

  • Does anyone hear like 'cheater cheater' around 3:57 ?

  • @hatsunemiku444 wauhw. i do. scared the crap out of me tho.

  • OK YouTube, what does Being Erica have to do with Emilie Autumn?

  • What is Cockey von Murdertits?

  • How can Emilie make even the most haunting of lyrics sound strangely, purely, talently, amazingly beautiful and surreal?

    I know.

She's the Goddess of Pureness :P.

  • 00:36!!!

  • it makes me sad when people hear emiles music and turn away because it's not about stupid breakups and whoring yourself out. she is just so freakin beautiful and fantastic and can express herself like no one else can. she is one of the most talented people in the world. her amazingly haunting lyrics and the screams and sweet song of her violin just fill you with such awe and fear. her music can walk you through a mythical forest or drop you to the depths of a lake, gasping for breath. incredible

  • While listenin to this song i was doin my french homework and as i looked into the next chapter of the book there a pic of the death mask lied. A sad beautiful thing. A goregous women who took her life but in death found happiness. It must of been somethin to see a women smiling that day, but it should let us all know. That death is bliss to some who worlds are filled with pain and hardships.

  • I used to listen to this song all the time a year ago.

It physically hurts to listen to it now because GOD DAMN all that emotion in this song..

  • You guys should look up the mold of the dead smiling girls face. It's hauntingly beautiful!

  • The ending really gives an accurate mesure of what drowning is like....I would know..

  • This song scares me so much, but also enthralls me. The whole mystery is L'Inconnue de la Seine scares me. I'm too afraid to look at her death mask.

  • @MoggyMegs Don't be afraid of looking at it, I've had to kiss it! Her mask is copied on Resusci Anne which helps people when they're learning CPR and shizz

  • @MoggyMegs Oh nonononono! It's not really creepy. This song terrifies me but it's just a mold of her face. You can find it on Wikipedia, if you can look at a mummy's sarcophagus, you can look at a death mask. ;)

  • I love how she brings this song into part of her book O:

  • I think my replay button just died through an addiction to this song.

  • s826.photobucket(dot)com/albums/zz181/EmoPlatypus/?action=view&current=Screenshot-EmilieAutumn-306-YouTube-GoogleChrome.png

  • @TheVirtueOfTheBored That's kinda creepy... -.-

  • I looked L'Inconnue de la Seine up, and the really creepy thing is, she looks just like me.... eerie.

    Love this song, new favorite.

  • @Darkravyn666 thats an insult to EA......

  • same here :) btw, thank you for the info,I really had no idea about it.

  • Im a little bit to obsessed with this song now....

  • Where a girl and this is funny....

    Beautiful imagination, voice ,she's talented

Emilie Autumn For Life , For Death, Forever<3

  • This-song-scared-the-crap-out-of-me-the-first-time-I-heard-it!

    Now-I-scare-the-crap-out-of-everyone-else-because-I-can't-STOP-listening-to-this-song!

  • @bbbbbthn3 Lol ^^

  • 306 is another way of expressing 666.

666° - 360° = 306° . An incomplete second circle (or bi-cycle). 54° is whats missing. Also 306° points at Aquarius in the maniac ;)

  • Her t shirt...XD. anyway, this song always gives me the chills, especially after i found out what it was about...and that outro....wow.

  • Three hundred and fucking six :)

  • okay, I looked it up.. the 306 bodies being found happened from 1795 to 1801. and the l'iconnue de la seine was in the 1880s. it's all very eerie..

  • Creepy as HELL......And that's where the beauty is <3

  • @xAriMCRAddict I know, right? I just found this song today and I love it!

  • If you stare at her arm long enough all unfocused and what not it looks almost like she's falling (works best with words on the screen)

Oh and I made a website for all plague rats of EA. At the bottom of the home, rules, and game page is a list of seven emilie autumn songs that you can play on there and I'm looking for more. its ea3plague0rats6.webs.com

    please become a member ^.^

  • I like her shirt. :)

    Cockey Von Murdertits.

  • @witchsaint I do believe that this happened in the late 1880's, in case you were wondering...

  • @left4deadlover123 Directly about suicide. A specific suicide, in fact. L'Inconnue de la Seine, or The Unknown Woman of the Seine, in french. She was one of sixteen bodies pulled out of the Seine river in France one morning. In the 6 years surrounding her discovery, there were a total of 306 bodies found. She was found smiling. Unusual for someone whoe drowns. Her death mask is still seen in lots of places today, look it up sometime.... She was rather beautiful.

  • @candygirl121340 sounds like a horror story.....

  • @zippomage Well it kinda is, minus the fact that it's true.. You can look it up. It's freakin' awesome. :]

  • If it's not one of her songs that im obsessed with...it's another! :)

  • I LOVE how she puts so much meaning into her songs even if their about accual happenings!

  • I used to really hate this song because it creeped me out now it's one of my favourite songs. Weird. :/

  • @MeganIsCharmed i did that with evanescence's haunted lol

  • I fell into the deep end of my grandmother's swimming pool when I was about 5. I can remember looking up at the leaves floating in the surface of the water and not being at all scared, I don't know why I felt so calm as the water filled my mouth but I didn't even try to swim up. A shape appeared at the other end of the pool which I found out later was my mother diving in to get me ... and the next thing I remember was waking up in the sunshine. I just wish I knew why I didn't try to get out.

  • @ImpOfDoom cool story, bro

  • @pinkixtheEMO haha, thanks ;)

  • @ImpOfDoom my guess is that you went into some sort of shock and thats why you probably didnt try to get out.

  • @ImpOfDoom Something like this happened to me too, I found out years later it was due to an phenomenon called rapture of the deep. I was sitting on the logs which delineate the boundaries of the swimming area in a lake. I sat there too long and passed out from the heat, I woke up in the water and I saw bubbles floating up but was completely serine, that is all I remember but fortunately my mother was watching and she saved me.

  • @ImpOfDoom same happened to me but it happened when i was 12

  • @ImpOfDoom yh i remember nearly drowning in a swimming pool in Spain on holiday but i did try to swim up and failed so my mum jumped in fully clothed to save me but i don't remeber that or getting out.

from what you said it sounds like you feel safe in water and if you'd die in any way ur body/mind would prefer it to be done in water.

  • @ImpOfDoom

You should write a story about it lol

  • What is this song about?

  • @Nymphetamiine01 Suicide

  • @xXbrokenvoidXx Sort of about suicide, not directly.

  • @Nymphetamiine01 the river seine, it was used as a dumping ground for murder/suicides in a course of 6 years 306 bodies were recovered. this is about one mysterious body in particular-L'Inconnue de la Seine

  • as i'm listening to this song, i am drinking strong herbal tea, eating one of those old-fashioned spiral lollipops that change flavors with the color, reading up on the old game EarthBound for the SNES, petting my puppy, and ignoring my brother's attempts to convince me andrew wk is a better artist than ea. i don't know how much more surreal this whole situation could be.

  • I used to wanna drown my self but then i heard this song

  • i think i broke the replay button. i just love this song so much. i don't know why. its just so beautifully dark. EA is one of the best artists that have ever lived.

  • I almost drowned when I was 9. It's terrifying on so many levels. Your heart feels like it's coming out of your chest and your head feels like it's going to explode and no matter how hard you try to breathe, the pressure never goes away. This song officially creeps me out on so many levels cause I have experianced the "3 minutes" it takes to black out. I still have nightmares about it and it's been 10 years.

  • @kcw336 Same here, only it was 2 years ago.

  • I bought the hell out of Opheliac Deluxe edition after hearing her stuff on here. My car rides are an amazing event now.

  • my mom thinks that ppl who listen to emillie autumn are disturbed....i say people who don't haven't been disturbed enough....

  • This has to be the worst song you can ever listen to the morning after having a horrible nightmare, I love the song, just not after I've dreamt about a demon trying to kill me D:

  • @dotcake wow. that sucks. my nightmares are weird.

  • another great song. Long live Emilie Autumn!

  • What is this song about? Why did she write it? I love it... but I wanna know

  • So is this based on anything, or is she just fantastic at making up stories?

  • @SparklesGoddess @mistybootsbambam look up The River Seine, in six years three hundred and six bodies were found and the most they found was sixteen in a day, one of them was a supermodel called Katoucha Niane. The story Emilie says she heard a lifetime ago may have been about a young girl about sixteen known as L'Inconnue de la Seine was found and had apparantly drownd from suicide, her face is the one on the First Aid doll, strangely she has a smile on her face even after death

  • Like the story I heard, A lifetime ago Where a girl (and this is funny).

Took her life and what she doesn't know. Is how long it takes for the water to rise. And the breath to stop fighting, and the cold to close her eyes....

  • This song is scary through head phones :)

  • This song sounds fucking SCARY in earbuds O.o

  • This song scares the hell out of me

  • i love her music she is the best and she represent the people that find death and the things after it and insanity and ghost sighters beautiful and fasinating

  • My best friend likes this and i am like "HAVE U F**KING LOST YOUR MIND CASSIE?!"

  • @raejaybigpapi no worrys,plaugE rAts don't judge ^^

  • Such a creepy song...even creepier now I know what it's about. Love it!

  • Gah....so creepy, that outro!

  • There is an ad next to the video about corsets.

    That was awesome.

  • @bahdumtsh that is indeed, very awesome :P

  • @bahdumtsh My add is a fish and chips one xD

  • I still don't know where 360 stands for? ;$

    can someone explain?

    I love her creepy songs...

  • @MissEemsel its about young women who drowned themselves in river. i dont remember where this took place

  • @LiliMoonsorrow @MissEemsel I think it's about 306 people committing suicide outside a cathedral in Paris. I read that somewhere. Don't remember when it took place, tho.

  • @MissEemsel The River Siene in Paris is a popular place for suicides and body disposals. In 2007, they found 55 bodies. In the following 6 years, 306 bodies were found, the most in one day being 16.

The bodies were kept by the Cathedral, so that families might identify them.

This particular song was based around one particular body, one of the sixteen. It was a woman's, and she had a smile on her face. Something drowning victims shouldn't have.

The last three minutes simulate the drowning.

  • @TheVirtueOfTheBored oeh hehe thank you (:

    creepy<3

  • @MissEemsel No problem.

It's amazing creepy. It's what I love about her. She makes an obsession with death seem so poetically justified. Really, she could be called a contemporary Tennyson.

    I'm a poetry fan girl. Apologies ._.

  • @TheVirtueOfTheBored ghehe me too ( : I freaking love her creepy way of making scary things so beautiul <3

  • @TheVirtueOfTheBored This is super creepy and espaclly since i know what it is about it is really scary

  • @TheVirtueOfTheBored what year was it really, cuz 2013 isn't here yet.

  • @musicmama888 actually it seems like I heard somewhere that the 306 bodies being found in the seine river over 6 years happened in the 18th century. but I could be wrong..

  • @witchsaint that would certainly go along w/ her victorian-ness

  • @musicmama888 yes, it would go along with it, all though the victorian era wasn't til the mid to late 19th century.

  • @witchsaint 19th century actually. Its kinda like being in the 21st century, though we're in the 2000s ^^

  • @XkissthestarswithmeX I meant I thought it was in the 1700s, but I guess it was the 1800s? I don't even know where I heard it was in the 1700s, I probably gave myself the idea or something. I guess because when I think of france I think of the 1700s :-P

  • @TheVirtueOfTheBored Do you know if there are any books about this?

  • @SchmeerKaas Not that I know of in the English language. It's a fascination subject though, despite it being something of a specialised subject area. I imagine it's something they'd sell in Paris; it's wonderfully grim like that.

  • @TheVirtueOfTheBored

Could you PM me a reference to this information so I can look it up myself? I found a lot of what you said on wiki but nothing about the smiling woman.

  • @augfeb9396 If you go on Wikipedia and type in 'L'iconnue de la Seine', you should get the article. Her death mask is on there, but it's not scary, so don't worry. It's just a mold cast of her face.

  • @TheVirtueOfTheBored how do you know that?

  • @sashka515 I'm a literature student. I research odd things all the time. And Emilie Autumn is odd. It's one of the reasons I love her so much <3

  • @TheVirtueOfTheBored

" In 2007, they found 55 bodies. In the following 6 years, 306 bodies were found.." Ummm... The six years following 2007? Like, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013? Am I reading this wrong? Sorry if I am... Cause this song was posted in 2007.... Am I just confused?

  • @VampireBug It was on the information I was given. I assumed it mean the surrounding six years, to include prior years.

If not, we're dealing with a clairvoyant writer, and that's pretty awesome.

  • @VampireBug

Maybe they meant the next 6 months... or the past 6 years... because yeah, that wouldn't make sense... haha

  • @PurpleRaveGirl Yeah, lol. I thought this song was about a girl pulled out of the river in the 1800's or something... L'Inconnue de la Seine... Wiki it :P

  • @TheVirtueOfTheBored - Wait...2007? You mean they have yet to pull out the rest of the 306 bodies? o_O

  • @SandJosieph xD confusing isn't it?

  • @SandJosieph

His explanation is impossible. He said 2007, 55 bodies were found. But then he said "in the following 6 years".

That means they would have found the last bodies in 2013, and it is 2011 now.

  • @fruitsbasketissweet LMAO.

Maybe he made a mistake with the dates, his info is nearly the same as on L'inconnue de la Seine's Wikipedia page.

  • @fruitsbasketissweet he was copying from Wiki. in 2007 55 bodies were found, but between the late 1700s and early 1800s, 306 bodies were found.

  • I don`t know for sure, but if this is recorded before her suicide-attempt, it is even more scarier.....

I mean, Kurt Cobains songs told about depression, problems, and they were sang manicly.. "you are alright, you are alright, you are alright..." and after his liked songs like this, he committed suicide. And everybody said: "how could we ever guess?"

  • <3 this song it is so dark and evil and sad and beatiful <3

  • I can't stop listening to this song xD

  • And my frozen pulse quickens and the black plot thickens

    Music to my soul

  • This song is so creepy...Me gusta!

  • She's amazing. And I love this song very much.

"Behind the cathedral, is where my body hides. But I'm not inside..."

    <3

  • creepy song... i don't know why.. but it strikes me...

I ssooooo want her shirt though XD

  • disturbing.....i like it :D after all, we should be disturbed, cuz theres a lesson that really ought to be learned....

  • @ShadowDwellerXXX Art of Suicide!

  • Well, I guess that's not really funny, just creepy.

  • Lol! Writing a script while listening to this... Look down to see the word count is 306.

  • @eschercheshire Whoa.

  • I love EA

  • It's odd how something can be so creepy but so beautiful. Go EA! :)

  • about half of ea's songs are so beautiful and melodic that they make me want to sit in a window in a rainy day and cry. the other half make me afraid to sleep at night. needless to say, this falls under the latter catagory.

  • This is my favourite song by Emilie. <3

  • Her music is so atmospheric and amazing! It sends shivers up your spine!

  • The Pistol

    The Poison

    The noose

    or the Knife!

Chills run up and down my spine when I hear dear Emilie sing this song!

  • @Tayuya94 couldnt agree more with you on that one!! <3

  • It sounds like Zira from Lion King 2 singing!

  • Spread the Plague.

  • sorry my instument of pain is a sythe

  • this song, right now, is the only thing keeping me from killing myself.

  • @witchsaint That's not good. You should talk to someone, get some help.

  • what is this song about?

  • @xPrincessCaitlynx this song is about suicide by drowning yourself. when emilie was 6 years old, she was raped, which is why she says "306 in only 6 years", which means you feel older, and like you died after that happens. emilie attempted suicide, although I'm not totally sure if this song is about emilie's suicide attempt, or about ophelia from hamlet who drowned, or both. someone else could probably tell you better. hope this helped~
