@AdrianHoliday , they had won a 4 team series played in the US and Canada in 1988. I would have to check the details but they beat Hawthorn in Toronto, Geelong beat Melbourne in the US and then Collingwood d Geelong in the final.
I have whatever Channel 7 showed on this night. I also have all the Saturday night replays for 1989 except for round 4 and 15 and also a number of Friday night and Sunday matches. I even have a Sydney v Carlton practice match and a Melbourne v Sydney Night series match.
The round 4 replay would have been Fitzroy vs Sydney and Collingwood flogging St.Kilda (this is the game BT goes off his tree after missing a goal, you can find it on youtube) and the round 15 one I'm not sure but I'm pretty sure Essendon vs West Coast was one of the games where Chris Lewis kicked the Eagles only goal.
You are probably right with those. For round 15 I do have the Hawthorn v Richmond Sunday replay which I will upload at some stage. That was the game where Brereton flattened Ryan with a hip and shoulder, but a fair way off the ball, and Buckenara hit Czercaski behind play.
a few games i'd love to see again would be either of the Carl v Coll games from that year, and the final quarter of Haw v Carl (where Jason Dunstall notched up his 100 goal of the year with the game winner at the 30 min mark)
Right there with ya Tim, Seven's replays were the best on Saturday night, get home from the game, watch the replay. Nothing better. Thanks again Aussie and I was at that Collingwood - Hawthorn game. If I recall Hawthorn won by 10 pts
Agree. Channel 10: 3pm-6pm - Game 1, 6pm-7:30pm - AFL Today showing highlights of the other Foxtel game from that arvo, 7:30pm-10:30pm - Game 2, 10:30pm-11pm - 5th Quarter
Peter Daicos - 30 possessions, 5 marks, 1 goal. Debuts for Colin Alexander and Lawrence Bingham

Awesome vid!! I remember the format of Seven's Saturday night replays....they should do something similar now with the games that air on Foxtel.

Right margin...but the black and white garbage took the 4 points.
For the record the 2nd feature game on the program saw the Dees beat the Lions by 5 points.

Yes MHJ, Collingwood did win that day. I was there at Waverley. Shane Morwood 15 possession 1st qtr, then rolled his ankle.
Chris Langford missed the game due to a domestic accident, and had apparently damaged his hand with an angle-grinder or a jack-plane

COLL 13.15 (Taylor 5, Barwick 2, Starcevich 2, Alexander, Daicos, Kerrison, Perkins) def HAW 11.17 (Dunstall 5, Morrissey 3, Buckenara, Gowers, Wittman)
