  • Out of all the Disney Princesses I believe Pocahontas spread the most positive messages to children.

    1. Respect Nature and the Earth

    2. Just because something is traditional doesn't mean it's wrong

    3. No matter what you grew up hearing or seeing don't develop racism or prejudice

    4. Love knows no race

    5. Stand up for what you believe in.

  • Sadly i was born in 2001. :(

  • Is it just me, or is the voice at the beginning reading out the song's name SCARY?!

  • I wish that people never messed with the original land. I wanna live like pocahontas did. it looks sooo awesome. I wouldn't mind living like they did. I would actually prefer it too. I feel ashamed of what our planet looks like now.

  • "come roll in all the ritches all around you, and for once never wonder what they're worth." this is now my new favorite saying!!

  • who would dislike this? -.-

  • @iCuppicakey Kids who didn't grow up on these movies.

  • @Neck41 I didn't grew up with these and i enjoy the melody

  • If I picked up that bear cub I would've been mauled...

  • @ABabyWalrus that's what i was thinking!!

  • I like how the title spells colors different then the sub-titles

  • love how disney paint there eagles :D

  • 49 people actually tried to pick up a baby bear 0.o

  • 1:16 Look at that happy Mama's face watching her boy taken from Poca.

    So natural :D

  • I agree.. I never understood it as a child either, Pocahontas was even one of my least favorite Disney movies.. now it makes me wonder.. if we all thought like this, if we all could learn to "sing with all the voices of the mountain, and paint with all the color of the wind", maybe this world would be a better one...

  • 2:48 Doesn't she know that Lions live there?

  • @MeatballWarrior LMBO!!!!! Lion king reference??? lol

  • haha truth is east has no cliffs what so ever when they made this movie they didnt know thats what my mom says

  • I feel like no matter how in tune I am with nature, I mother grizzly is going to kill me if I pick up her child...

  • 2:48 Pride Rock anybody?

  • my favorite lines in the this song, are "for whether we are white or coppered skinned" and "you have own the earth and still all you'll own is earth until" and I love the rest of this song to ever word in it.

  • If Pocahontas had actually grabbed a bear cub in real life she'd be mauled in a hot minute, not matter how in touch with nature she is.

  • this song still gives me chills. its 102 degrees in my house and i have goosebumps.

  • i feel like turning on a fan and standing infront of it and singing this

  • When I was little the part where she rolls on top of John always made me blush.

  • Comment removed

  • i always wanted her hair.

  • this song gave me chills

  • the most beautiful song about the nature,,and the natives,,,i miss it a lot

  • Lol I always thought it said 'new born moon'

  • Ariel is the most adventurous

Pocahontas is the most down to earth

    Cinderella is the most hopeful

    Belle is the most thankful

    Mulan is the most corageous

  • okay i'm seeing all theses comments about how the colonists were basically dicks for wanting to own the land that already had people and for causing so much violence and all i have to say is DUH! All america has basically done is screw itself over with capitalism and practically wiping out an entire culture. America has turned into a place that i'm literally terrified to raise my kids in. Most of "civilized" society is nothing but corruption!

  • I think she has to be the most beautiful of all the Disney princesses

  • @Saltyfries96 Yes!! And she isn't allowed to have merchandise sold of her in the disney store because of the genocide issue.

  • I remember when I was 8, I watched this movie and I kept rewinding this part so that I could get down all the lyrics to this song. Then I ran around singing it till I memorized it

  • i love how disney connects biracial relationships

  • I can paint with all the colors of the wind....the other ones I need to work on though.

  • this should be every country's national anthem... so much wisdom in a childrens cartoon

  • Sorry Pocahontas, but i think Arial has you beat at 2:18

  • you think the only people who are people are the people who look and think like you.

  • thumbs up if this is better than all the disney movies made within the last ten years

  • @Khjunky0331 Put together.

  • BEST SONG EVER

  • I really love this song, it always makes me think and I think of the lyrics:

'have you ever heard the wolf cry to blue corn moon?

Or asked the grinning bobcat why he grinned?

Can you sing with all the voices of the mountain?

Can you paint with all the colours of the wind?'

I don't know abot you, but I have never done any of those things, so this really makes me think.

  • Feel so bad we took there land and stuff being selfish:(, we can't tell other people to not to come illegally taking jobs and stuff because technically that's what we did

  • if you held a bear like that it would claw your face off :)

  • Gah! I'm so pissed with my generation! Twilight? Jersey Shore? That Justin Beiber guy (girl?)...? Really? Don't make me gag. Disney is where it's at. And no, I don't mean the generic, stereotyped, "oh-look-at-me-i'm-so-cute" Disney Channel crap. And I don't mean MTV. I mean the REAL Disney. The Disney I grew up with. Is there anyone under the age of 30 that'll agree with me? Or am I the only post-80's inhabitant here? If so, I'd like to say: Shame on 90's kids everywhere! Okay, rant over. :P

  • @bluestarrynight97 I get ya man. I'm a Disney fan for life, and when I have kids I will be sure that our movie collection is entirely composed of Classic Disney and Miyazaki. And every summer baby, it's Disneyland time!

  • People do not own the land, the land own the people.

Have anyone create the earth they live on? No. Thus our notion of property of land is ludicrous.

Can you give life to what is dead? No, then the notion of owning an a living being is also absurd.

The Indians understood this. But our modern society does not. Years of brainwashing have made us believe lies.

  • whatever i've been painting with the colors of the wind before it went mainstream

  • The Native Americans were in the right. We should live like them. We really dont need anything else exept for food and water and shelter. They never wasted anything. They only took what they needed.

  • @hospitlar67 i completely agree. im one fourth black foot Cherokee and i wish that the world was still the world my ancestors lived in, not the savaged land we live in today.

  • @hospitlar67 true but its still nice to have a laptop

  • @hospitlar67

Scalping. They werent saints, though thats not to say what colonists did was justified.

But I agree with their basic way of life

  • @Xloi63 Actually it would be nice if you got your facts straight. The white man was the first to scalp. Generals would have them go out and would pay them for each native scalp they brought back. So then we started doing it back. Just to let you know.

  • @hospitlar67 well duhh they were here before everyone else arrived!!! thats why they are referred to rightfully as "Native" americans!!!!

  • @hospitlar67 for real! i feel lke people these days feel they wouldnt be happy if they didn have there billion dollar car or fnacy cell phones and anything else. :/ kinda sucks :/ our planet is dying

  • Also at 2:17-2:20 looks like a shoutout to The Little Mermaid! Yeah! I love that part too! I always wanted to go to the beach or pool and spring outta the water like that! Call me lame but it looks like SO much fun!

  • @FreshOrangeBlast OMG IKR? when i saw the little mermaid i wanted to swim really deep into water and then just spring up like that with my hair flowing like that behind me, lmao

  • @fantabulousstargirl Totally! We're on the same page! =)

  • Pocahontas does a cartwheel at 2:00-2:01! I love that part and I love this video! I love this song!

  • we all need to learn to paint with the colors of the wind.

  • actually, you were not incorrect. In America, we spell it color. In Britain, they spell it colour. However, Pochahantas would have learned the British spelling. Therefore it is correct

    Sources: Wikipedia

  • @wii60own @KristiMichelle2112 shows how good of a speller i am :P thanks guys for the proper spelling

  • did anyone else notice they spelled colors wrong at the top?

  • @LarryTheWaterBalloon That's proper spelling for colors.

  • @KristiMichelle2112 hey, um it isnt wrongly spelled it can be written both ways, depending if you are british or american. :)

  • @Lotilumirie True.. ;p idk i was always told it was the "proper spelling"

    i never understood it. XD

  • @LarryTheWaterBalloon its correct, the proper spelling for "colors" is colours !!!

  • @wii60own If Your British :l

  • @iiSheGamer if you are from anywhere apart from america then its colours :/

  • @wii60own Not In My Awesome Secret Lala Land That Only Awesome People Can Enter :3

  • When my mom was younger she went to the movies with my cousin (who was 5) to see this movie. once this part came out my cousin started singing this at the top of her lungs lol

  • "You think the only people that are people, are the people who look and think like you, but if you walk the footsteps of a stranger, you'll learn things you never knew you never knew"

Imagine how much better the world would be, if everyone knew this one little verse

  • @kaimaster11 hahah tell me about it.

  • this song gives me chills... :D

  • this brings back so many memories.

  • i feel like a princess whenever i watch these videos :-) they make me smile.

  • this was my favorite Disney song when i was little ♥

  • Our marching band is doing a mash up of this and Somewhere over the rainbow (our theme is colors) :)

  • jeez.... i wish wind followed me like that XD

  • I promise, take all the bad people in the world and show them origional Disney movies, and they will completely change.

  • @PipsqueakTheGiant You know the first Disney movie was made in the 1930's right?

  • @WrathofKhanII yeah ^_^ Idk... I'm just saying how these movies just make people so happy, no matter who or what age they are :D

  • Do you remember wanting to run through the plains of Africa with Simba? Swing through the jungle with Tarzan? Go to the enchanted castle with Belle? Go to the ball with Cinderella? • whats a blue corn moon?

  • @TayTaynumbah2 i think by blue corn moon she ment like when the moon has that blue tint to it once in a while. Or at least thats how i think of it.

  • all of the congressmen and oil rigs that pump polutants into out atmosphere should sit down and play this song....then the world would be more as it was.....god bless disney and the truth he used to show the young.

  • prefer the swedish version cuz i like her voice more. it's rly nice :)

  • it's nice but I prefer the polish version.. The words are the same but the polish singer has much better voice though :P

  • Reminds me a bit of avatar...

  • When I was a kid, I had no idea what the lyrics meant. I just liked her voice and the colors. Now that I'm older, I finally understand how destructive we can be, and we could be connected with nature and animals and to each other. It really makes you think

  • @kkc0161 i agree just like when i was little i didnt understand all disney stories but now that im older i understand the songs and the story :)

  • Thumbs up if you thought of The Lion King when they stood on the cliff at the end (2:48). :)

  • I almost started cryig hearing this song. Why? Because there will never be a new TRUE Disney movie for me to look forward to.

  • Dose anyone know what a blue corn moon is anyway?

  • The other day I found this scrap book of my elementary school days. There was one question I had that asked who I wanted to be when I grew up, I answered Pocahontas. Lol. I still love her though I am not an Indian princess.

  • 1:14 yes pochahontas thats a good lesson to tell kids. Its ok kids go and pick up a bear cub when the mom is right there im sure it wont attack....

  • i gave my friend the nickname pocahontas because he's part native american. i would love it if he sang this song, or some of it...he would be a true pocahontas

  • This song is sooooo beutiful i love it , it make me cry when the bear goes to her cubs, that shoud make ppl that hunt think about that animal having a life and family.

  • I'm a dude and I love all Disney Princess songs! \m/

  • i love this movie. but i only like the first movie. idk y but i this song makes me wana cry.

  • At 1:07 he was like " The fuck you doing !?" lol

    Love this song though :)

  • I'm french and I prefer the english version :)

  • I hate how Colonist treated the native Americans...its just sad to think we still do that to people now a days

  • "You think the only people who are people, are people who look and think like you, but if you walk the footsteps of a stranger, you'll learn things you never knew you never knew." I could relate to that lyric A LOT back in my high school days. Pocahontas may have been referring to creatures in the forest who humans take as just "savage beasts" but you can also relate that lyric to how you treat other humans as well. We don't all think alike, but that does not mean you can hurt someone else.

  • "But I know every rock and tree and creature, has a life, has a spirit, has a name"

I ALWAYS remember this bit from my childhood, when the butterflies appear, because it's like they came from her as if they were a cloak being thrown up in the wind :)

    New disney sucks ass :(

  • 'Come run the hidden pine-trails of the forest , come taste the sun-sweet berries of the earth, come roll in all the riches all around you, and for once, never wonder what they're worth'. - Beautiful.

  • Made me cry lol i remeber watching this movie and having no worries at all <3

  • 48 people wanted to draw the wind but didn't have enough paint so they got annoyed and disliked this video.

  • favorite movie but can you believe anyone gave it a thumbs down... 48 people well it doesnt matter because this movie is amazing

  • Pocahontas is my favourite film EVER, and this is one of the most beautiful songs ever. I highly recommend listening to Alan Menken - Farewell, it's the composition for Pocahontas, absolutely breathtaking.

  • John Smith will do anything Pocahontas says if it means he'll get some of that poon

  • wow... reading these lyrics, i never knew how beautiful and meaningful this song is. Wow wow... Such a great song. And now, we have stuff like rebecca black.

  • me: grining bob cat why do you grin???

bob cat: cuz you look so damn tatey oh and look its dinner time ( lickes lips)

me: 0.o uh oh guess i shouldnt have asked well lets get it over with AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH (runs for life)

  • You search for one Disney princess song and end up watching them all <3

  • @DegrassiEclareFTW pretty much

  • @DegrassiEclareFTW yesssss lol

  • I love this song.

  • NO JOHN NO SHE'S JAILBAIT, CHRIS HANSEN IS WATCHING!!!

  • 48 people were savages and could not pain with all the colours of the wind

  • "You think the only people who are people, are the people" Is it just me, or is this line about people?

  • "You can own the earth and still all you'll own is earth until you can paint with all the colors of the wind.."

    my favorite part. =D

  • Thats it! I'm watching Pocahontas again.

  • This song is still so relevant today after all these years.

  • I just have to say this... I'M SICK OF THE STUPID SHOWS ON DISNEY CHANNEl LIKE HANNAH MONTANA AND JONAS!!! I WANT THE OLD DISNEY BACK!! I WANT MORE DISNEY MOVIES THAT MAKE ME CRY WHEN I WATCH THEM LIKE THE LION KING AND POCAHONTAS!! I'M SURE THAT IF WE BROUGHT BACK THE ORIGINAL DISNEY, OUR SOCIETY WOULD CHANGE! So if you agree with me, do anything you can like spread the word, copy and paste this everywhere, or even make a petition online!! BRING BACK THE CIRCLE OF LIFE!!!!!!

  • This movie is so fantastic that I'm almost able to forget that Mel Gibson is in it.

  • in this... pocohontas shows how in tune with nature she is. by teaching us how to...umm fly... and take bear cubs away from their mothers.... and turn herself into pastel....

  • I don't even need the lyrics, I know them by heart. This was my all time favorite movie when I was little and I will never be too old to stop watching it.

  • i love how disney movies have some history to it... this one is about the first colony of Jamestown its pretty cool

  • @34RiverStone Colour is how Britons spell it. Color is the American way. Just like armor/armour.

  • polish version is much better. you should see it. it's "kolorowy wiatr".

singer's voice is very dynamic and expressive!

  • in ur title u spelled colOR wrong : /

  • @34RiverStone depends, it can be spelled as colours as well

  • @3achan oh......

    he he

  • @34RiverStone

if you were smart you would of known there are TWO ways to spell color/colour

just like u can spell gray as grey

  • @chipmunky721 sorry :(

  • i used to not like pochahontas what was thinking back then???

  • totally LOVE the wolf howl <3

  • 47 people lost there paintbrushes

  • at 2:18 she has like a little mermaid moment haha

  • 47 people can never paint the colors of the wind

  • this and mulan are the best movies ever lol

  • how can people dislike this?

  • ove this song remaids me of my younger years at my childminders <3

  • @2:17 she talks about the circle of life

  • these songs are highly metaphorical - trying to make people better. today's pop culture is trying to spoil people. <3 old disney

  • wow good vioce

  • How many people out there don't need the lyrics to sing along?

  • @IHeartInuYasha100 i can but in french :D

  • Okay... I love this song- but those retarded twinkles they put in the intro and end make me wanna smash babies >=I

  • @ExtorpidsSuits agreed :)

  • Sometimes i think, wow they should make a remake of this movie, like non animated, but then i thought... no disney would find some type of way to screw it up, idk what happened to this meaningful stuff from when i was little.
