how to connect your tv to your laptop via hdmi cable

@Sr3tv yea it normally does that. the options is for fine tuning or for some laptops that need to enable the second monitor

@felixthemaster1 oops it worked!! lol haha I think it was the driver thing I made an update then restarted the laptop and it worked! , but left one thing, how can I listen from the TV rather than the laptop?

@maninthehood it should automatically do it . if not, go to control panel then chose the sounds. then go to playback tab and choose hdmi output

its a HDMI cable, so it is very good. It all depends on your tv and the quality of your video file

I have a HP laptop. it does have a HDMI cable slot. (I have a white HDMI cable connected to the TV to DVD and a black HDMI cable connected to the TV to the Xbox 360) Before I connected it to the White or black cable, i can't remember which one I connected. Yeh, I put the cable in, the picture came up. Now the picture doesnlt show up. Which wire shall I use black or white? I have 2 HDMI slots behind me tv and 1 HDMI slot on the side. Please help me

hey..... i hav a Hp laptop....i had no trouble connecting it to ma TV using HDMI cable.....but now when i connect.... all i c is a black screen on ma TV .....when i connect the cable the laptop screens blacks out 4 a sec showing that it is connected to TV....but TV hav a black screen.... do u kno wat is causing the problem?? any help will b appreciated!!!!

well, have you chosen the hdmi mode on your tv? since there is live av 1 and av 2 and a few other options. one of these modes is "hdmi" choose that.

and also, make sure to right click and do what i did if you have vista. nd just experiment and mess around with the options on your laptop

ya...i kno... itz on HDMI and i set the option on ma laptop when i 1st connected it months ago and it has not changed.....

but this is weird....the TV jus shows black screen....i tired a different HDMI cable....still itz the same!!!

RIGHT CLICK ON DESKTOP AND click on properties. then go to the tab with the 2 screens and play around with the options. it should work then :)

no because the tv and laptop are both video output devices. unless you have some capture sofware. then it might work. but why do you want to do it? tv is much bigger :P
