i saw something on the a.m. news about hgtv being pulled...what? pull some dumb talk show...hgtv is fun and interesting...and antonio is the most fun and interesting of the hgtv stars...what a guy...
@blitzemontime : I agree. He is, in the end, a carpenter with some design sense. He would serve best working as a team member with a real interior designer. Sometimes luck wins out and that was the case with him winning that season.
Dan is just a replica of David we need somebody different...I'm glad Antonio won...I like both but i was going for antonio because he's different, and his vibe is different, and he's not afraid to be real and unique and to be humerous
So, I haven't been following this since the new cable doesn't carry HGTV (boo!!!), but, why did the finale seem to anticlimatic??? Where's the audience? Where are the rest of the designers? It just seemed so quiet compared to the other seasons. Maybe I just missed something because I can only watch the recap. :( I miss HGTV!!!
I have to say the reason they picked him is because he is different than any other winner of Design Star. Dan would have fit the mold of HGTV too easy & maybe even been compared to David B. (winner of season 1) I wanted Dan to win but see why they didn't pick him. Also is it just me or that the projection of Antonio's name on the floor was shown during the show before they announced him as the winner?

Antonio is a carpenter NOT a designer. He took a traditional home and made it a horror show. That family is the laughing stock of the neighborhood.
