Why do you all feel like you have to say one is better than the other, one is legit, only one is good, only one works. They all make sense, they're all followable and they're all written and in the TV/Movie cases, portrayed and brought to life in a good way. I'll always rank Buffy/Angel's story at the top, but I still like Edward/Bella's.

Authors and Artists, can't correctly potray them in their own way and have it be correct because it is a cultural thing. Stephenie meyer didn't create a new vampire, she created a sparkly homosexual who just happens to like blood.

Twilight does not suck, nobody knows what vamps would really be like, so thats Stephanies take on it. the story is well written, and they dont all drink animal blood. They have cool powers, and the Elite vamps are very much like what most here are talking about, luring humans into there dungeons, they are pretty BA.
