So the child of a Nazi is now sabre rattling? Wasn't the last conflict painful enough for both sides? She should listen to this album and book a seat in the Fletcher Memorial Home.
he's not actually calling the japanese "nips." he's using that the same way black flag has a song called "white minority" and like mark twain's "nigger jim."
what happens when you deny real domocracy human rights and justice and peace in order that a few greedy people can steal the world and its future and leave the mass of the people in destitution, exploited using mass murder and fear lies and military might and ignorance
Think of it like this, if Roger's dad hadn't of died, half of the music that has changed and enhanced our lives would not exist. The fact that Roger's dad died serving his country inspired generations of people, and I'm sure his father would be proud to know that.
@MrKurmann, the true "terrorists" aren't the Muslins, Sadam, Bin Laden, Alá, Buddah, Jesus...
The true "terrorists" are the ones who rule our lifes. They come to tv everyday, create laws to force us to work more, with less conditions, create economic crisis and incute fear to us, only to take our freedom. The true terrorists are Bush, Obama, Sarkosy, Markel, Cameron, etc. They are the ones that should be in Fletcher Memorial Home!
@HolyMuscleOfLove and who said those are terrorists? but you are right to some extent, those controlling the "systems" are.. I won't call them "terrorists" I call them organized crime. They are so well organized that they become legitimate. The protests in major cities now, I believe are of the same thought. but it's also true that Muslims are slowly taking over the west. question is, is this the natural course? do we want that to happen in England? you know what it will be like then...
@MrKurmann Muslims are taking over the west? There have been protests in America long before these past few years. Have you ever seen a picture from the 60's?
@camarorider67 nope.. that would probably be too far back.. but I m talking about now. 01 city in West Yorkshire has been taken over. France have more practicing Muslims than Christians.. they are building Mosques in Alaska dude!
@MrKurmann I can already tell that you hold a paranoid prejudice against Muslims so, i'm just gonna leave you with this comment. All religions spread, Christianity at one time was just a single group of men in a few basements. Scratch that, two comments. They can't take over America on account of this little piece of paper called the Constitution, it promises that no one religion can impose its laws on the others, so you don't have to worry about Sharia Law here in the states. Peace.
Imagine a current mainstream rock album actually naming and accusing a serving prime minister! Passionately concerned with this country's modern history... And geting to number 1. Those were different times indeed. The best post-Syd-Barrett Floyd album my miles.
@blitzman64 Pink Floyd is a band that has(-d) as members both Roger and David. And both had their very important role in the history of the band, so no need to classify them. If you love PF you love them as they are, it's like this simple.
You know its really interesting how a used to be pornstar person ends up having over 3 hundred million views but this barely over 2 hundred thousand. These songs have meanings for god sakes. every songs these guys wrote had something to think about.

@vLegendKiller They wanted to make an album that was comprised of solo material from all four members, I guess it was just because it was the avant garde period, and they were testing the waters- you hear the finished result. The only tolerable thing on Ummagumma is Gilmour's "The Narrow Way," and even that's not GREAT
@cford1992 Sadly, the album was comprised of solo material from all four members of the band because it was Roger Waters' labour of love, comprised of the individual efforts of four band members who simply weren't and wouldn't speak to eachother at the time. Politics and the misguided striving for individual glory destroyed this once great group. Haven't heard much ground breaking new material since their break-up, have you. We know where most of the great song writing came from, Roger.
Just goes to show you. It's 2011, I thought just about the most outspoken song of the time/subject matter was 'Shipbuilding' however, because the British Press/Music Press find The Floyd so difficult to deal with, this one gets burried. Shame. Waters screams out 'Maggie', naming the guilty party. Do The Floyd get any credit for being politically outspoken or active though in the way, say Elvis Costello did back in the day? Not a trace as far as I can tell.

In Roger we trust!!!!
David has NO CLUE to reality in the world!!
Believe me.
Cambridge is and allways has been a retreat for academics who do NOT live in today's reality.
They live in the past and the future (Hawkins at DAMTP).
Roger has allways dealt with reality as he perceived it.
Today this is just as important as ever.
