  • There is still slavery going on in parts of Africa. Black Muslims are enslaving Black Christians. Of course, our news media ignores it

  • @zireham1 in prayer for those...

  • Can you please tell me who is the artist, artists or choir etc that recorded this powerful beautiful music?

  • beautiful

  • This is a beautiful rendition; the harmony, the dynamics, I love it!

  • Again is ask, who are the present day Hebrew Israelites that have broken the covenant with the Lord? They were enslaved in Egypt and then they were brought "in Egypt again" according to the scriptures.

  • Who's singing this?

  • yall crying and singing because the white man ..and back then yall knew his evil

and now yall rap for the white man because he puppets you to influence your own youth to keep repeating ..but now the thing is yall dont know it

    nwo

  • I get chills whenever I hear this. Not only from the power of the music, but from the knowledge that a nation as great as ours not only tolerated but CONDONED such an utterly monstrous institution for the better part of our first century as a nation.

  • The majesty of my people is beyond imaginable. God Bless the ancestors.

  • @supervirtuouswoman Now that isn't a very nice thing to say. What happened with slavery was a mistake and we all know it, but to say things like this is to be exactly like some white people were to slaves.

  • @supervirtuouswoman that's not necessary

  • @supervirtuouswoman I am a white man totally innocent of this atrocity. My ancestors were poor Welshmen and other Europeans who NEVER owned slaves. My ancestors immigrated to the NORTH in the mid to late 1800s. Condemning ALL white men and women for what so few believe and over something that occurred 150 years ago and was ended by white men. White men like John Rankin helped black people along the Underground Railroad.

  • @supervirtuouswoman You claiming that I am a racist and deserve death even though I would be on YOUR side during this time period makes you seem eager to stereotype all of us as racists, therefore you are a racist and no better than the old Southern white view of blacks, and you wishing my death makes you no better than the slavemasters that oppressed your people. I find it very ironic that you call yourself virtuous yet call for death of an entire race. You sound very similar to a Nazi.

  • @MrCincinnatian SHE SAID THAT BECAUSE SHE GOT EMOTIONALLY INVOLVED IN THE SONG AND THE READING OF WHAT TOOK PLACE DURING THAT TIME! MANY BLACKS DURING THAT TIME EXPERIENCED THE ATROCITIES WISHED THAT ALL WHITES WOULD DIE! SUPERVIRTUOUSWOMAN EMOTIONS ARE HARMLESS! TO DESTROY ALL WHITE PEOPLE WOULD BE IMPOSSIBLE FOR 1 PERSON TO DO! U MUST EXPERIENCE WHAT SHE FEELS! AND THAT'S WHAT U DO NOT UNDERSTAND! :) PEACE

  • Dear God, I am here still in Alabama. Everytime I pass a plantation I can not forget the history. I am the descendant of slaves and the MASTER himself.... that is embedded in my soul.

  • I love this song.

Regardless of whether or not who treated them better, North or South, African slaves were treated like animals, chattel, and property, and it was WRONG. Period. End of story.

  • Go down Moses sung by Paul Robeson is the best rendition I've yet to hear.

  • 1 Person needs to go F Themselves!!!

    And I'm White!!

  • I wish I knew which choir was singing this...and where. I've never heard a version quite like this. Of course, I'm partial to Louis Armstrong's arrangement for big band with chorus (and himself as lead singer). On the other hand, the harmonies here are hauntingly glorious. While I prefer a more traditional gospel style, this is an intense, commanding performance. So...who are these folks? WHERE are they? Thanks!

  • Go down Moses..! #sixone

  • The worst part for me, if I were a black slave, would be leaving a country like Africa. Not all the Africans killed mountain gorillas. I hope that the wealthy sons and daughters of slavery now help the wildlife of Africa. When you look at the NFL and NBA, you have to wonder -- was that the plan all along? "What doesn't kill us makes us stronger".

  • What moving music....songs like this should never be forgotten....

  • it sounds like a song from a cult... it scarry if i heard it outside in the dark id run off.. its like a scary movie theme song seeing like thousands of people being killed in a war.

  • @LeoTheEmo1 Black skin is much safer than white skin -- less prone to skin cancer. We will probably all become black eventually as the sun gets hotter. The Ku Klux Klan will have to find something else to do.

  • @redfordforpresident No, we will never all become black, or white or any one kind. Humanity is vast and diverse with new characteristics of our ever evolving genome showing up every day. Dark skin makes sense in sunny climates, protecting from radiation. However, in cloudy cool climates like Northern Europe or the Pacific Northwest, dark skin can lead to vitamin D deffeceincy which causes soft bones, rotten teeth, depression and mental retardation. Take care of yourselves accordingly.

  • @redfordforpresident "as the sun gets hotter" GTFO HERE LOL.

  • @redfordforpresident Technically we all used to be a bronze color in our origins and eventually split off into darker and lighter. So if anything, by mixing skin colors we will go back to our original bronze skin tone

  • please, i need someone's help...is it racists to call a jamaican "african-american?" I described my friend using that term (he's jamaican) and i think he took offense. he said i'm neither from africa, nor america

  • @jms8220 Jamaicans and African descent from many of those island countries take offense to that. It is wrong when they claim they aren't African, they are. The people of Jamaica forget that they descended from African slaves brought over by the Spanish, so just like how you may say you are (insert european ethniticity here), he is African by ethnics.

If he was born in america or has citizenship then TECHNICALLY he is African American. BUT BUT BUT it shows respect to identify him by...

  • @jms8220 to identify him by what nationality he FEELS he is. How would you feel if someone identified you by some ethnic background of your's that dates back MANY generations ago? You would rather be identified as what you are, an American.

In other words, just apologize and tell him that while he IS descended from Africans (knowledge is Power imo) you will identify him as a proud Jamaican, and will respect him as such.

  • IT'S MAKES ME CRY INSIDE !

  • Oh, you are waking up! Good! I talking about the north and south war in USA, the slavery war. USA have gone too long. They say that they trust in God but they don´t.

  • yes , these are all hebrew songs, the blacks are definetly hebrew.

  • slavery is not now with whips and chains yet still it exists

  • @homousios IT IS MENTAL NOW...NO MORE WHITE SHEETS AND HOODS....THEY WEAR SUITS AND TIES, POLICE AND MILITARY UNIFORMS, AND BLACK ROBES

  • USA goverment must pay the slaves because they have suffered and have been treated like animals. But they are maybe more humans than the whites! A white SWEDISH BOY.

  • @MrBenni77 What the hell r u talking about?

  • @MrBenni77

Europe governments (including Sweden) must pay the Jews because they have suffered and have been treated like animals and killed millions of them.

By the way Moses was Jewish and his people were Jews. Think about when you, in Europe, mess with Israel.

  • @harta2barta I agree! But Sweden has been a country wich has help much people both in the country and outside, more than others i think. But they haven´t done enough, specially in the second worldd war when they take care of nazists but don´t help the jews. Ralf Wallenberg was a Swed and he helps jews to escape. By the way- I love Israel and the jews of my heart!

  • we will all be free when Jesus comes again and not until then..

  • @julsfine WE ARE FREE PHYSICALLY....BUT SOME ARE CHAINED SPIRITUALLY! :)

  • What are the lyrics to the song? Could you post them in the discription or something please? Thanks!

Oh and this is a great song!!!

  • It does not matter what color or creed you are this song is beautiful and it always will be!

  • What is the name of the group that is singing this arrangement?

  • The riches man in the world is a Mexican. Yet, Mexican can't find jobs in Mexico.

  • Pharoahs are still among us. Hitler was a Pharoah, so were Stalin, Edi Amin and there are others. They must be stopped.

  • @Egdirnam Rotchild pope is the pharaoh now but you don't know inform about rotchild in modern history and in now moment, he controls all banks the FED and the BCE and the bank of England of course and all the other hte bank debtsystem is his system because nobody knows really what is money

  • amazing this is truely inspiring!!

  • So sad because we are still enslaved. They just Changed the system. Now we all work and they give us enough to stay alive, but as little so we have to keep working. if we do not work we get locked up or we die... We will be free when start working with each other, showing love and respect to our brothers and sisters. When we get back our own land, create our own energy system, our own money or value system, and restore our aincient religion. One love

  • I believe this was the song that the slaves used to look out for when Harriet Tubman would be near to take them into the Underground Railroad. Good song.

  • @MillaHead thats not even funny man. learn some respect you f*cking oxygen thief.

  • this is really hard to listen to, you can't listen to this and not be moved. You can feel the pain in this. It's sad so sad, but this song is beautiful.

  • Now in Mexico we are needing somebody like those heroes.

  • @Maria4095 Dang, thats what ive always thought. If the slaves got rights, Mexicans can also change their government.

  • It was often said that slaveholders suffered more as Humans than did the slaves, for they were being monsters and trying to rationalize it with the Bill of Rights and equality of mankind.

  • Who recorded this version of the song?

    The harmonics are beautiful.

  • So Very, Very Sad that we do things like this to each other!!!

I hope someday Humans realize it is easier to live in Peace than hatred!

It is the most wealthy and powerful people on the planet who keep us divided

I Prey someday "We the People" Rise Up against them.

    pete

    Let my people go,

Opressed so hard they could not stand,

    Let my people go.

    Chorus

    Go down, Moses,

    Way down in Egypt's Land.

    Tell ol' Pharoah,

    Let my people go.

  • I am Black; I am Irish; I am Celtic. I am Brown; I am Irish; I am Celtic. I am yellow; I am Irish; I am Celtic. All of us all are Human! We are Brothers and Sisters; We are Family. I am Irish; I am Celtic; I am Family.

  • I love that the harmony is the beautiful. I shall never forget what my ancestors have done for me to have the opportunity that I now have. Thank you to all of those who gave their lives for me. That's why I have to push to be great and let my greatness shine here on earth. Its now my turn to make it better for the generations after me

  • @CocoaBird85 I agree with you on that, well said...

  • @CocoaBird85 Black people lag behind by a few hundred years at least, eh?

  • @MinecartScience I don't believe that we lag our problem as black people is that we have left God and when we return to Him and we will then it'll only get better!

  • @CocoaBird85 I love you, because you say "I thank them for what they did" as opposed to some people who say "they were my ancestors and wet through pain for me... therefore these white people whose grandparents used to own my grandparents should pay me, who went through nothing" I love this song so much

  • @hfgjhfvh :-)

  • You actually think obama runs this country dumbass???

  • really good point :)

  • @RitchyLoks

Whether or not Obama runs the country, your utter lack of class is displayed for all when you call someone here a "dumbass," as if you know it all, which clearly you don't.

  • @xrxs1020 I RUn That shi Niigga!!!

  • ROFLMAO........stfu....bs statement but funny nonetheless..HAHAHAHAH

  • :( tru

  • this is just truly a great song

  • This Made Me Cry And Im Only 16

  • It's amazing that 140 years after slavery ended in the USA, this song still captures the despair and torture of the African American in the south and the resonance of hope found in the very religion that the white man was teaching, the hypocrisy.

  • They probably found hope in it because they saw what it was that the "white man" was missing, ignoring, practically spitting on by proliferating and justifying slavery in their mind and their environment.

I do agree, though, this country (my country which I love) is made of hypocrisy.

  • You nailed it. Looking back, the hypocrisy seems almost unbelievable. Do I believe that the whites who held (and hold) racist attitudes were terrible people? Not totally...they had been brainwashed by the system and couldnt see the light. The worst shame lies in the people who first began the racism as a means of controlling people of color so as to be able to economically exploit them...what a terrible and lasting system they created! And all to fulfill materialistic lusts for wealth and power!

  • Racism is also a means to control whites. If you think of racism and the methods that are used to perpetuate it, all sides are antagonized and the only ones that are out of that struggle are the wealthy.

  • @XGeneralOfDemonsX "The history hitherto existing history is the result of class struggles" - Karl Marx

  • shhh.. the peasants aren't supposed to know that.

  • @OrTheThirdPerson Hi just wanted to know what meant by your comment...

  • @LuckyRob007 Torture down SOUTH!?!?! you really think that is what happened? We treated them alot better down here than them "yankee saviors" did up north. We had a reason to keep them alive and around down here they had no need for them up north. Then agin since the south lost I guess the world will never hear the true way it happened in school, unless you do the research yourself. THE SOUTH TREATED THEM ALOT BETTER THAN WHAT YOU THINK!!!!!!

  • @ryantownsend23 -- Whipping was a form of torture, surely. Separating families was another, surely. Or setting ferocious dogs on fugitives. Or are these all myths? But no one with any sense will blame you, who were not even conceived yet. So why "we"? You never had any slaves. It is quite likely that your ancestors also had none, if they were poor whites.

  • @ryantownsend23

Mythology. Whipping, castration, amputation, beatings, rape, etc. were all forms of torture used to subjugate slaves and keep them obedient. However, none of these forms forms of torture and cruelty prevented slaves from doing the "job" that the masters wanted them to perform. Also, it wasn't all about treatment. Even if slave masters treated their slaves "nicely" it was still slavery. Freedom is always better no matter the conditions.

  • Presiosa, biutiful, gorgeous song
