  • I watched damn near all these debates. And every time I watch Hitchens debate, I get impressed all over again at his genius.

  • goddamn thats an annoying intro

  • @krrwasser wow that's one of the most ignorant and non-sense comments I've seen about Hitchens in awhile, and there's LOTS of ignorant Xtain assholes like you out there, congratulations on being a moron!

  • RIP dude

  • I can't believe I missed this! I went to UCF in 2009 and I lived on campus! I was still in the painful stages of my atheist reformation. Just beginning to digest and understand and eventually embrace skepticism thanks to a copy of Demon-Haunted World. I don't think at the time I even knew who Hitchens was and if I did I would surely have been offended, and now that he's helped to change my life so much for the better, freeing me from the shackles of religion... he's gone. ...Thanks, Hitch!

  • @Cheshie well said, and as my dear old Irish Dad used to say, better late than not at all

  • @krrwasser The thing is, all religious people do at these debates is create a model. They make the model self-consistant and think their work is done. But what they positively fail to do, all the time, is prove the basis of that model...ie, proving that there is such a fucking thing as supernatural! Do you get that genius? Doesn't matter how well your model fits together, as long as its keystone's unproven and assumed without ANY evidence! Prove the basis, the rest follows. 2000yrs & counting...

  • @krrwasser I don't think you'll get much support for your assertion that atheists are stupid; especially when you mention the word logic.

Faith is the reverse of logic; the ignoring of logic; the belief in illogical magic.

    Hitchens is a giant intellect.

He can argue "against the man" occasionally - because he meets some fools and can't resist showing them up. But he doesn't need that to dish religion; that's easy but he does it well.

  • The saddest thing to me about Christians is that they are completely unaware

that there are multiple religions in this world each as valid to its adherents.

  • @humanist7117 You mean there are other religions? Wow, thanks I never knew that. I never was aware .... Um, I've also never met, nor ever heard of a Christian who wasn't aware of that truism.

  • man when I watch this video with headphones, the intro girl's voice bounces between headphones in such an annoying way...

  • Comment removed

  • @beenn15 Hell, I'd feel free too. Sounds like your view on God and relationship with Him was a bit skewed.

  • I wish I was even a 10th as smart, eloquent, well travelled or well educated as Christopher Hitchens! The man is a genius.

  • The best thing about Hitchens is that he makes sense to the person open to common sense. To the closed-minded I guess he is an aggravation.

  • So happy I was able to see this live.

  • @legalearthangel Argh, I'm so jealous! : )

  • Thank you for posting this, TheWorldAlign.

  • They both work

  • I actually believe that a majority of people are "closet athiests"! Few want to question the masses....we all want to be accepted by our friends and family and without thinking too deeply about it become part of the "sham" called religion!

  • @bermudaguy1 I suspect you may be right, but have you not considered the wonderful miracles of our Lord, like when they came to arrest him in the garden, and Peter cut the ear from the soldier, and Jesus called to the soldier, 'Do you need a bandage over there?' and the soldier replied, 'No thanks, I've got one 'ear.'

  • @gamesbok No!

  • @bermudaguy1 OK, well how about when Paul Gaugain walked into a bar, and saw van Gogh sitting in a corner. Paul called out, 'Oi Vincent, do you want a beer?', and Vincent called back, 'No thanks, I've got one 'ear'.

  • @gamesbok Funny!

  • @bermudaguy1 Maybe repressed subconcious atheists would be fairer than "closet". I mean, they aren't hiding their copy of Voltaire behind a bible so they can safely read it.

  • Anyone going to debate this man should have his head examined first.

  • Whenever I've had a debate, I always get the same answer in the end - 'You're wrong'. If there's conclusive proof against Christianity, then this wouldn't need to be said. There is plenty of credible evidence for Christianity, which by the way, just because it is a religion does not suggest we kill non-beleivers if they will not convert. There are many gaps in both arguments so you cannot conclusively say 'You're wrong and I'm right'.

  • @CarlsonBen He is not saying you're wrong He is saying the Abrahamic religion's moral codes are inneffective, and they do more harm than good.

  • .I think it may also prove helpful to some of the viewers here to try to evaluate many of the more strident claims of the anti-theist critique ("brights") from a ideological/ metaphysics perspective. Check out the recent article by Jackson Lears in the May 16, 2011 issue of the The Nation entitled "Same Old New Atheism" .The article offers a compelling analysis of Sam Harris' works. Consideration is given to general atheistic social perspectives

  • christopher hitchens have esophagus cancer but still smokes and drinks alcohol thats irrational.

  • @proximaism

He doesn't smoke any more, but he does still drink a fair amount. You're right, that's probably pretty irrational, stupid even. The difference between that and the claims of the religious is that Hitchens isn't invading anybody else's privacy with his irrationality, he's not trying to make everybody else take up smoking and heavy drinking; he's not saying that because he thinks it's a good idea, everyone should think this or he'll kill them in the name of his beliefs.

  • @Flowerblood Basicly if you quit drinking/smoking after you get cancer, it's way too late already.

  • @BeardedBill86 You're quite right. But original point was a non-sequiter.

  • @proximaism Actually no it's not, the damage is already done, if he'd quit before he got it then it'd be logical, now it almost doesn't matter.

  • The baseline in the intro is sweet!

  • O_O Was I the only one freaked the fuck out by the intro?

  • The Bible is the greatest work of pagan Mythology ever writ.

  • This intro is so fucking annoying I'm going to see what I can o about launching a cyber attack on their website....Sheesh, get a fucking clue, once is more than enough.

  • back when Nimrod tried to build the tower of babel, to gain power and rebel against God, God literally looked down and confused everyone's language. People couldn't understand each other because God literally "invented" languages and then he scattered the people. I think that's proof that God is pretty awesome.

  • These guys are a couple of dumb-asses. Atheists are a bunch of meaning-less retards, and christians are a bunch idiots who follow a stupid book. No one can prove that, god is or is not there. Atheist, how can you not believe there is a higher power out there, everything is too perfect. Christians, get over it, the bible is so flawed why do you even use it. At the end of Mark it says that we can drink poisons and not be hurt.....WTF! These 2 men, should both get real jobs or crawl under a rock.

  • @savedrabryan "how can you not believe there is a higher power out there, everything is too perfect"? Dude, have u read anything by Neil Degrasse Tyson or Hawking? (I GUESS NOT.) You wrote they "should get real jobs"? If u haven't realized by listening to this video, this is part of their 'job' (its called 'promoting their books'). U should READ MORE b4 u write anything dealing with this ridiculous notion that 'everything is too perfect'. U R NOT A PHYSICS MAJOR, I can tell. sorry. xD

  • @nogodsexist1 Dude, I never once stated that evolution is wrong you fucking idiot, and Neil Degrasse Tyson hates the fact of intelligent design. Oh & BTW Stephen Hawking onced shunned the idea that our universe is at a constant expansion, and agrees with Einstein's theory of relativity. Which he says that our universe was always and forever. A Catholic Priest named George Lemaitre, was actually the one to propose that our universe had a big bang, and made them change their minds on some things

  • @nogodsexist1 Obviously, your just a dumbass like the rest of human race.

  • @savedrabryan LMFAO. U don't need to get all worked up about my comment...and if u think you're smarter than Hawking or Tyson, U R NOT. U R half a chromosome away from a chimp, it is evident. (Of course, I'm also an ape. and happy about it cuz I got this far on the evolutionary-chart.) BTW don't be so self-centered as to suggest that U KNOW there is a 'higher power' (that is as stupid as saying "Jesus is GOD"). U R as thick as the monotheists, its obvious. BTW, EAT ME, ASSHOLE. Later, DOLT! xD

  • @nogodsexist1 Later Cock Sucking Nitwit, have fun displaying your ignorance and bigotry to bitterness of the human-race xD xD

  • @savedrabryan LMAO. What a fool! Take it easy, ass-clown. U don't need to be so angry...U need to release some of that energy (U need to find a girlfriend/boyfriend). Rube, u aren't smarter than any1; please stop PRETENDING like u have an IQ of 150 (I can tell, U do NOT). lol. If u were intelligent u would recognize that u made a mistake the minute u commented on this video...did u read your 1st comment? It is nonsense and totally hypocritical. Let me explain, ass-monkey...

  • @savedrabryan Consider what U wrote, MORON: "Atheists are a bunch of meaning-less retards, and christians are a bunch idiots who follow a stupid book. No one can prove that, god is or is not there. Atheist, how can you not believe there is a higher power out there, everything is too perfect." I thought U were an AGNOSTIC, until u wrote, "how can you not believe there is a higher power out there". What 'higher power', Dolt?('Infer' my ass, Dummy!) U R a jerk-off, so go jerk-off. LMFAO. xD

  • @nogodsexist1 hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha, Idiot it's called agnostic-theism look it up. I never said anything about Christian god, by the way, I said higher power, that could refer to Spinoza's god as referenced by Albert Einstein hahahahahahahahahahahahah fuckin tool. Hahaha stop LMFAO, your like a little 12 year old girl with your texting lingo.Do you ever use OMG in your texts hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

  • @savedrabryan Oh, that hurts....look how hurt I am.LMFAO. I may not know much about 'texting lingo' but i KNOW I'm much more educated than U. Every time u write back, I seem to get more 'ammunition' for this little 'war' we've engaged in; U haven't written anything original, as to the ''God-question' (just keep inferring him, RUBE). Like I wrote b4: U R not a physics major, and now, I doubt U R a graduate at all. lol. BTW try to calm the fuck down, you'll have a heart-attack, puss. lol. xD

  • @savedrabryan Do yourself a favor: stay in school. Learn a bit more about the 'perfect' Universe b4 u try to convince any1 there is a 'higher power'.(lmfao) Keep your empty belief to yourself, wacko (unless u have some 'PROOF', other than your 'faith' in it). If it makes u happy, live within a fantasy-world (i mean, u seem to think you're the brightest 1 on this planet, & it makes sense that u also believe in a 'God-figure'). Funny shit! BTW fuck your 'higher power'/god!...lol. xD

  • @nogodsexist1 Get a job LMFAO! xD you need to calm down. And your right I am not a physics major, and I wasn't trying to convince anyone dumbass. OMG go text your boyfriend, and get off youtube. hahahaha

  • @savedrabryan I KNEW U weren't a physics major cuz I'm smarter than u and always a step ahead, jerk-off. (&FYI I have a career and u certainly aren't on my pay-grade, take my word for it...but that is beside the point). It is also interesting how u try desperately to mask your anger by writing 'lmfao & HAHAHA'...U R 1 ANGRY INDIVIDUAL and that undoubtedly has to do with the fact that u KNOW u aren't all that smart (U R an 'Ape' with average intelligence). Ass-clown, U R trying too hard! xD

  • @nogodsexist1 haha i guess

  • @savedrabryan Glad to see you've calmed down :) In case u start feeling overwhelmed with anger (again) ask your therapist for some Xanax...It'll help, I'm sure. Have a great day!!! xD

  • could the introduction possibly be more annoying? whats with the alternating speakers?

  • Hitchens owned the other guys ass!

  • Actually not one of Hitchen's best speeches. Still manages to crush all opposition though.

  • what was "THE POINT" at the 7:25 mark? damn i feel stupid for not getting it. haha, someone help.

  • @LCXXXSR I know you don't believe you understand what you think he said. However, I am not sure you realize that what was said was not what he actually meant. Does that clear things up?

  • @LCXXXSR I think he sums up his point later when he says "don't go with the ancient hebrews."

  • gay rights, legal drugs, legal freedom, bu bu bye imaginary friends for adults bu bye.

  • ...because, finally Hitchens has met his equal in D"souza...hence the number of times they have been invited to debate each other...

  • "living in a cave".... if they don't crack cheap insults, they an't athiests

  • @reaperq88 "an't athiests"..... if they can't spell ain't or atheists correctly, they ain't intelligent.

  • @Nick7690

English is not my primary language.

and thanks for proving my point.

  • Thanks for posting this debate.

  • that sterio sound efect if fucking anoying

  • @celestialsalamander I rather dig the stereo effect.

  • an afterlife is possible for the simple reason that energy transfers but isn't destroyed, according to einstein. but this god in the sky, heaven hell shit is well shit, the buddhist belief in reincarnation is more plausable.

  • @truthseeker8010 Energy is transferred but not necessarily information. e.g. a human brain starts breaking down on a cellular level straight after death (i.e. it starts rotting). This is information loss. This information is the person's personality... without that the afterlife isn't possible.

  • There is no god beings. Thats crazy. Its only superstitions. Man made all gods. Not the other way around.

  • @MrJohnnyrace maybe it was necessary part of our evolution?

  • They should call this debate "UFC" instead of "UCF" :-)

  • @aarondkemp KFC? Kentucky Fried Christianity.

  • The Pick Up

One day while CH was running late on the way to debate Nasrudin on the lack of need of a prime mover in the affairs of primal humanity including cats and dogs and birds and such his car broke down on highway 61 however Sam Harris happened by and they made it in time for the 7.00 pm opening debate.

The sacrifice of rea-son on highway 61 may seem like a pun but God said Christ-opher give me some fun.

  • why does anybody even debate hitchens? he lays waste to everyone who opposes! he is funny, witty, and SMART

  • @Powerslave138 @Powerslave138 You somehow confuse rhetorical ability with proof and evidence. Hitchens is smart and gifted rhetorically. No question about that..but nearly every argument he uses is based on fallacies and mispresentations and if if applied consistently many of them would destroy atheism and pretty much all of western civilization. The straw men he uses are endless, but no different from most other atheists who use a whole range of myths that scholars KNOW are not true.

  • @Powerslave138: "why does anybody even debate hitchens? he lays waste to everyone who opposes! he is funny, witty, and SMART"

I find his humor, wit, smarts, and charm to be pathetically misguided to the point where it's neither funny nor impressive. His arguments have become rhetorical and repetitive nonsense that have been debunked many times. There are children in this world that show Hitchens for the God denying fool that he is. Remember people, The fool says there is not God(Psalms 14:1)

  • @johnspartan98 Really? Then why do his arguments seem more logical and coherant. When I hear the explanations put out by revelation I feel repulsed as if I am witnessing the vomit of evil.

  • @Fishqueen1972: Because you love evil and hate good, and you have a sickness known as confirmation bias. It's a perceptual screen problem in your mind from not being raised to love good and hate evil. In other words you don't know the difference.

  • @johnspartan98 Really. Then why is it that you have generalized a whole group of people simply based on not believing in something. All I did was criticize ideology, but you are against a whole group of people & by default other people of other faiths. Revelation has a bloody history & it is easy for you in the 21st century to hold up scripture that secular reasoning has given you the freedom to do so.

  • @Fishqueen1972: The only generalization I made is with atheists who are guilty of putting all religious people into the same basket and labelling them with all sorts of ignorant names(generalization, stereotyping, etc.. It's not my fault the Bible says, "The fool says there is no God"(Psalms 14:1). If you ask yourself why the Bible says that, and research it, you will discover (through the scientific method) by examining all the evidence, that atheist really are God denying fools.

  • @johnspartan98 Well, of course the Bible would say that. "You believe the Bible is true because it says it is true" Are you a fool for not believing in Ganesha or Zeus? How about Thor? Fallible humans have been making up Gods for thousands of years. You deny all those Gods. I am just smart enough to go one God further. Common sense is common sense.

  • @johnspartan98 That's quite a claim, but simply to state that the proposition can be established does not establish it. You seem to be using the bible to establish the truth of the bible. This is not adequate.

  • @Powerslave138

Well because the people debating is not Funny, nor witty and let alone SMART.

    ];)

  • this would be the BEST UFC Match EVER!!!

  • @failblorg Did you by chance see it live?

  • where was the debate?

  • Ladies and gentleman: An excellent assessment of the Hitch from the current NY Review of Books, entitled "The Believer" by Ian Buruma shows that the one constant in Hitch's life is inconstancy. And I wish that was all that was said. It's also featured in excerpts on today's Huffington Post (there called "Christopher Hitchens' "Hitch 22": Left? Right? Center?" 6.28.10 ) . Better sit down for this one because the contradictions in him are most substantial.

  • @orbis2009 " Better sit down for this one because the contradictions in him are most substantial. "

    ...and your point is?

We're all aware of Hitchens views on other topics.. interestingly that article doesn't mention god once... and doesn't once question Hitchens rejection of religion, merely suggesting that there are other political reasons for some of the examples.

So... I was sitting down... but so far the only thing that stuns me is why you would even bother posting this .

  • @Roper122 well, I see you are somewhat, er, challenged. Because you evident ly missed what was implicit in the piece at several critical junctures. Hint: Hitchens, not those open to the question of God, is the "true believer," or dogmatic fanatic.

  • @orbis2009 " Hint: Hitchens, not those open to the question of God, is the "true believer," or dogmatic fanatic. "

Except the whole point of your comment was to supposedly point out where Htichens was inconsistent, contradictory and variable.

Which is in fact the exact opposite of dogmatic and fanatical.

Indeed he is clearly someone open to changing his opinion.

    Just not on god.

Go on .. insult me again while I point out where you're wrong.

It doesn't help you look any smarter.

  • @orbis2009

You missed his message. He simply states that there is no honest reason or evidence to support the supernatural claims & teachings of religion.

  • @genxtargetmarket < There are 3000 religions on this planet; why he making such conclusions just only on Judaism, Christianity and Islam.

Does he know Mayan's have calender with astronomical observations that dates back antiquity( 3000BC when math didn't exist in Europe). Taoism is 60,000 yrs old. Sanatana Dharma even older.

  • No mammal[man] is good enough to rule another mammal[man] without that other's consent - Christopher Hitchens vs. Abraham Lincoln

  • Yes, there's so much we don't know...and even more will become clear about our ignorance in the future as we become even more educated. Thus, we see at once that we KNOW quite enough to rid the universe of its so-called Maker! That much we have always KNOWN enough for. From the skepticism of the 18th and 19th centuries to the latest science, we KNOW that God could not possibly survive the sheer force of our logic. Uh-huh.

  • listen to the beginning with headphones

You feel like you're goin crazy

  • It´s difficult for most people to take full responsibility for their lives, and thats what leads them to believing in something outside themselves- to whom they can pass on that responsibility, all these Gods....

  • study it dinesh!

  • the theory of order and chaos came to form complexity from simple elements and dust.

  • Who passed an alpha wave filter on the audio and why? Freaky...

  • I thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you have hidden these things

from the wise and understanding and revealed them to little children

  • And thank you for ignoring the billions of childeran who happened to be born in other countries that aren't Christian. Oh and make sure the childeran are of the right christian faith because the rest are going to hell to burn in the fire of their innocence.

  • Christians say that "without God everything is permissable" which is true, if there is no god and no afterlife, then according to Nietzhe, everything ends up the same in the wash. At the end we all die, so our actions here account for nothing, but id there is a God and and afterlife then we will be held accountable for our actions. Christians dont say ppl cannot be good without god, we say that morality is only an illusion and a disguised form of slefishness if there is no God

  • So what you and your friend Nietzhe are saying is that if you werent Christian you would go around raping and murdering people. I don't know where you live but i live in a society that punishes people for commiting crimes. Sweden and Norway are like 75% athiest and have less crime than we do. Is it morally better to do good things to be helpful to society and our childeran or to do them to buy a ticket to heaven.

  • lol, nietzhe is not my friend. but his point was if u take god out of society, eventually all the doctrines and ideas that came into the world because of God go as well. 3 things that christians did for the world:

    -the sacredness of life

    -sanctity of the family

    -abolition of slavery

kill god and u minus well kill all those thigns as well

  • There were many more religions before Christianity that taught the sacredness of life and sanctity of the family. Do you think noone respected these things before Jesus? We wouldn't have made it that far without it.

  • Perfect by definition is needing no improvement. Just because we are the most intelligant species on the earth doesn't mean we're perfect. Look at genetic diseases like ms where our own immune system attacks our nerves. If you want to accept the good things you have to accept the bad. These questions are easily answered by science and evolution but conflict with an all knowing design.

  • um, have u not studied european civilization? Europe has become highly secular and the governemnts of France, Norway, Greece prmote euthansia, abortion, forced sterilization of women, its onyl a matter of time before Greece goes back to its infamous practice of infanticide. So thank u for proving my point :D

  • Your claims on "european civilization" are way out of context and one sided.

  • good job dodging what I stated against religion. According to the Catholic church until just recently unbaptised childeran went to limbo. The church admitted that this wasn't true after so many years of certainty and are ready to be infallible once again. Oh wait doesn't that contradict the exact definition of infallibility. You would have to be insane to not see the hypocrisy. even though some athiests may be proabortian at least they didn't condemn these childeran for eternity.

  • It's interesting to see how often creationists tend to dodge arguments against their position but are always welcoming what benefeits their argument. It' wrong to accept all of the good and disown all of the bad. But hey they can do it and blame us humans for it because we exist and they have no proof of their perfect god who knows better. Maybe if you would realize these ideas you have are actually your better judgement and have nothing to do with your religion you would be done with it.

  • Oh and by the way. The original laws of god (im guessing your speaking of the old testament) Included stoning people to death for gathering sticks on the sabbath day. So you're saying if your christian or not people should be put to death for working on Sundays? I guess god wasn't thinking this far into the future so man has to change his laws to fit the morals of society. Most Christian religions have changed gods laws for political and selfish motivations if you take the time to study theology

  • Its funny because ur doing exactly wat u accuse fundelmentalist christians of doing, reading the bible word for word. dont u realize that when u read any historical document u have to read it in its context. Those laws, found in leviticus and deuteronomy were laws for the ancient hebrews, we dont live by the code of hammarabi do we? Those laws were created when the jews were journeying through the desert for 40 years and when they settle the land of canaan most of them are abolished anyways

  • and if u look at it from a theological perspective, the ancient hebrews had scorned God by worshipping the Golden calf right after they had been freed from Egypt. they were an unrully ppl so strict laws were put into place to maintain order, and in the new testament Jesus comes along when the woman is about to be stoned and says that whoever has not sinned cast the first stone. When Jesus came he fullfilled the law of moses.

  • I'm sorry its hard for me to believe in a bible that is so open to interpretation. In my opinion if god was capable of creating the universe he could inspire a book that was too the point and didn't leave millions upon millions of his possible followers astray.

  • And if you look at it from a theological perspective, the story of cast the first stone is not accepted to have actually happened. It is well known that it was added by a scribe almost 1000 years after the original bible was written.

  • I'm sorry if its hard to me to believe in a bible that is open to interpretation. In my opinion a god who is capable of creating the universe and life within it would also be capable of inspiring a book that is to the point and doesn't lead millions upon millions of his possible followers astray.

  • ummmm no, the gospels were written around 90AD-110AD. not 1000 years after.

  • Yes, that is correct. The story of cast the first stone was not in the original gospels it was added almost 1000 years later by a scribe which means it never happened. This isnt just my opinion it is well knownby theologists. The only reason they kept it was because they liked the moral of the story.

  • @mikelipko Why do you automaticaly assume that all athiests were born athiests. A lot of them have studied and tried to find god but eventualy they were able to come to the realisation that it's completely illogical and sometimes hipocritical.

  • @Sylosis333 All people are born athiests not just athiests!we are born imperfect&being imperfect we make mistakes.we have choice to believe in whats right/true or wrong/lies from that point we are guilty if we choose wrong.man chooses not truth after he knows whats right/light or wrong/dark cause man likes his own way of corruption, his own laws.rather than the pre existing Laws of God.man hates God cause mans wants to be his own god.mankind is filthy, perverted, twisted, pompous from the beginning!

  • That is one of my greatest disagreements. We are not born athiests, we are born as impressionable childeran and many of us are pressured into believing what our parents or society at large believe in and dont come to the realization that our parents and the majority of our society aren't always right. You believe we do bad things because were cursed by sin. I think we do bad things cuz we have an imperfect design and were only human =P.

  • @Sylosis333 i believe that we are sinful from our youth.not cause we are are all formed by our environment but instinctively as well.i dont believe we have an imperfect design for two main reasons-one;God made us&said it was good&two;he made us in HIS image(meaning superior to living things-capable to reason-invent-etc.)if you think about that that is very deep! he didnt make two different species with mankinds capabilities but all other animals with limits-so WE could see HIS power

  • that owl is creepy.... >_>

    (and annoying as hell)

  • do u know who god is? what is god? where is god? why is god? when does god appear? how is god real?who is god? answer those and then u can fathom the retardation of the species:)

  • @JayDeeVK < Many great thinkers have leaned more toward Eastern philosophies to understand God and creation; because Judaism/Christ./Islam depict God as some old man with short temper who behaves like a spoiled child.

There is no one in the West to debate such larger context; Hitchens is awesome but he ignores half hemisphere of this world who happen to have more enlightened perspective. So incomplete knowledge, wrong conclusions !

  • @JayDeeVK

if u can meet good, shake his hands and such... then god is not god

  • the truth is there are many things that all people on this planet can agree on according to the existence of God/Creator.However because many things that are misunderstood they choose not to accept it. God is a fact. Ask any scientist if they ever seen a single atom-none! but all scientists believe that atoms exist! ok so man believes in a miniscule atom they've never seen but not God the creator of order and logic as we know it! God made you not an atom!

  • So, idiot, have you ever seen God? You do realise there are other ways of gaining understanding about reality? You don't need to SEE an atom to know atoms are there; you don't see the wind, do you?

  • @viewtiful12345 i never claimed to be brilliant-so being called an idiot by a fool doesnt phase me. have i seen God? i have seen the majesty of God. i have seen the proof of God but with my physical eyes seeing a bright light as stated in the Holy Bible,no i have'nt but it says that God being so pure if we seen him fully it would put us to death because of our impurity. so your right you dont to SEE anything for it to be proven other by methods.

  • @viewtiful12345 proving reality? thats the question? proving reality? do you hear what you write/say/think? i will show you proof of reality i will show you proof of God the most REAL thing you have never seen! ready?i will ask a series of questions&you answer them sincerly to the best of your knowledge of reality? ok,here we go! man didnt create math right?man didnt create gravity right?man didnt create life right? the answer to all 3 is NO & for good reason. man is merely an observer not a God

  • @viewtiful12345 beings man is not God he cant make LAWS laws pre-existed man. LAW of math/Law of logic/Order/Law of life or gravity or any law for that matter was created by God. we can merely observe the LAWS and obey them or disobey them-we were given choice! however God being a perfect God has consequences to His Laws if you obey you are blessed/if disobeyed you are cursed meaning you will be punished! as you follow Gods Law you will find CIVILITY/TRUTH/LOVE/LIFE/LOGIC

  • @viewtiful12345 when man decides to look outside of his biggo ego he can then begin to see the magnificant creator .till then man is just a self-absorbed little brat who needs & will get many spankings.he may learn after several spankings & he may not. to the ,man that seeks God & finds him he will in turn profess God as i am now- til then he will live in denial and die with his sins

  • Thanks for wasting my time with your "God is real for me, so in discussing with someone who doesn't belive in God has I do I will just make my faith became a FACT and not something I first have to adress". You didn't answer my question, and I can't answer your question because you wasted you comment with all that Man is not God bullshit instead of providing something new and usefull to the conversation.

  • @viewtiful12345 except that it has recently become possible to see lithium atoms under an electron microscope and you can still sence the wind through touch and it can be measured by annemetres

  • Jesus said it best about the people on this planet and their obstinance to believe in him-"I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children." you see, you are above God,you are Gods yourself, you could'nt believe in an invisible God. you do believe in invisible things though dont you. you believe that man can create things but an invisible thing creating, thats preposterous!

  • God is'nt fake-God is real. are any of you so blind that you can honestly look around you and not see a series of orderly structure from the planetary system down to the smallest complexities of a one celled organism. oh thats right it is merely a collision of circumstances that occur by mere chance-aha! and by mere chance everything bleeped into existance-oho! yes this thought is more rational of course!!!

  • there are things we humans will never understand.

Humans have just made up god/assumed there is one because they want an answer to a question that probably will never have an answer.

So if you can find some hard evidence please share it with me and tell me why god is real.

  • @guythatEATStheCHIP97 man cant prove God.only God can prove God.

  • this guy said what he understands the Holy Bible says is "he'll live forever/my sins are forgiven/im saved/& all moral &ethical qustions are solved!" obviously he did'nt read the Bible correctly it does'nt say that when Jesus was crucified all those things would happen to all mankind. Hitchens started off with "how little he knows" he damn sure got that right -more than he knows!

  • i agree with one thing that Hitchens said & that is most Christians dont know much about FAITH & what it is! so if a scientific observer before our time observed &concluded that the Earth is round and he could explain it and many thousands of people heard his testimony and agreed and told others that "hey the Earth is round" but they couldnt doesnt mean that the world IS'NT round. they just have the eloquence or perhaps the full knowledge of what is factual!!

  • God said: Therefore withdraw (O Muhammad) from him who turns away from Our Reminder (this Quran) and desires nothing but the life of this world. That is what they could reach of knowledge. Verily, your Lord it is He Who knows best him who goes astray from His Path, and He knows best him who receives guidance.

    Quran sort An-Najm verses 29-30

  • God Damn, Hitchens is so good!!!

  • @ChaoticChris5150 so good at being a babbling fool? perhaps you were overwhelmed by his wordiness or are you even more simplistic to fancy his accent as some form of superior race?!! look for example at 2:38 and the next 50 seconds-he mentions over&over "i dont think". you could say "you dont think" the world is round but if you dont "KNOW" that who the hell should care!! this guy made his point HE DOESNT THINK!

  • Nah, Hitchens uses logic, reason, scientific argument, and then obliterates silly fools who try to defend something that is just impossible to defend, becuase it doesn't exists.

More and more people wake up to realise Religion and superstition is a waste of time and is a leash on the human mind. By removing religious dogma we are released to realise that the truth is through advancement of science and of understanding. Not these silly old books written by man...

  • dont wear headphones in the beginning

    it's annoying.

  • @Clifton100 - You're so right! Why on earth would they DO that???

  • what's up with the auto-panning phasey thingy at the beginning?

  • Really? Based on what?

  • religion is for the weak
