  • I love Suchin Pak, but I wasted all this time watching this video and I didn't really like the way the curls came out. There were alot of techniques used that seem to encourage freeziness :(

  • Wasnt the girl in a QVC commercial?

  • @SuperAqueen Yes, there are Redken salons in Louisiana! Visit our website redken.com to locate a salon near you.

  • uuuuh... Her hair looked the same! She needs to not uncurl the curls! Redken still have the best condish for curly hair; bad tips though.

  • all u need is time not products.

  • This vid is pointless. he put waaaay to much product and put heat to it, just so it could look like crap

  • I have a lot of hair and its pretty curly but, I don't want volume in my hair.

  • As a curly/kinky girl who can easily have wet/damp roots all day and night, diffusers are a lifesaver. Sure airdrying is ideal but don't bash diffusers because they make curly styles practical for many of us and are great if USED PROPERLY. I use mine regularly and never had a problem like the girl in this vid unless my hair wasn't fully dry, which I think was part of the problem here. It also seemed to me like her hair was still parched despite the products, leading to even more frizz.

  • but what if you have THICK curls with lots of volume? :/ my problem is having wayy too much hair with lots of volume (thus the frizz)

  • Redken has just launched Curl Wise 14, a new styling product, which is specially formulated for coarse unruly hair types. Curl Wise 14 will help manage and tame thick curls, fight frizz and help control volume.

Apply to towel-dried hair and either air-dry or diffuse as usual for a controlled, conditioned curls. As always, please check with you Redken stylist for the best recommendation.

  • I think it looked waaaaaay better when she done it herself! I think because she only separated them in two curls, not just into really thin frizzy curls. She looked a lot happier as well!

  • is that a tear coming from the corner of her eye? :( I'd be crying if anyone did that to my curls! Why break them apart???

  • I couldn't agree more with Avasinistra and aprilcait!!!! she was better before than after, and its way too many products, I would never harm my curls like that...

  • Yeah, he ruined her hair..

  • OMG...Why did he separate the curls!! She doesn't look satisfied. I don't blame her. She could get a better look with less than 2-3 products. Wowzers! So 80's! I'm picturing Flashdance!

  • When I saw him separating the curls then applying the shine product all I could think was: NO!!! I agree with SuperPinata825, he made her potentially beautiful curls into a frzz-ball.

  • it still looked frizzy and he uses a LOT of products

  • This is exactly the opposite of what curly/wavy people should be doing to take the best care of their hair. Far too many products - going natural produces the best results!

  • i agree

  • it still looked frizzy...

  • i have natural straight hair n its inpossible to work with. whatever i up on it has to come out!! its annoying it wont even stay when i scrunch it!!

  • That did not help at all. I was hoping it was since they are professionals, it does not look nice, i think the lady did it better.

  • This hair style reminds me of the one Tatiana Thumbtzen sported in the 1987 music video "The Way You Make Me Feel" along with Michael Jackson. Rest In Peace Michael!

  • well my hair is an afro so would that even work on my hair?

  • when the girl did that her self , it looked so much better , the girl did her own hair better than that man !

  • Her hair looked awful, I'm sorry, but it looked like a bad 80's crazy prom hair. Her hair looked fine after he was done with the diffuser. Everyone knows that you're not supposed to touch curly hair until its completely dry or it will just make it bigger and frizzier, like this girl. Besides why twist the hair??? That only looks cute if you're five yrs old, or it just looks fake. Just use good products and scrunch the hair, and don't obsess with the curls and it will look fine.

  • Seriously.

These people who claim how to do things actually don't.

  • i wish I had curly hair. I hate my wavy hair and curly hair is IMPOSSIBLE for me.

  • Her hair was frizzy and there was barely any curl definition when he finished. The twists take forever on thicker hair and frizz thin hair when taken apart. The root hair spray is not needed since he diffused it to add volume. For her hair she just need the curl creme and possibly mousse/spray. These big hair companies seem more concerned on selling product than showing how to style actual hard to manage, curly hair. I wonder if their stylists are even equipped to style thick or ethnic curls.

  • manipulating a curl too much will just add to the frizz. the best way would be to just let air dry so the hair would be set on the ringlets then just tousle the curls.

  • Oh, gosh, her hair looks TERRIBLE when he's done with her. When he started pulling those gorgeous pulls apart I felt like screaming.

Diffusing makes it sooo frizzy and huge. Ew.

  • I Know! it would've dried beautifully if he had just twisted it and let it dry naturally.. When he pulled them apart it looked like a frizzy mess! HE took out the curl and made it frizzy and not to mention puffy!

  • Each client has an individual look. We know that the curly hair client is very specific about the type of curl they are trying to achieve. In this video the client was looking to enhance her natural curl with more volume which is why the stylist suggested a diffuser. The key with a diffuser is to not dry the hair completely and to concentrate on the roots for added lift. This is just one way to style curly hair. Speak to your Redken stylist for other tips and techniques for curls!

  • lol bout the thing where u twist the curls around ur fingres, i cnt do tht cuz it will take for ever! i have very curly hair thts preety difficult to tame. :]

  • I get away better curls than that with non-redken products.. her hair looked frizzy to me. Kinky Curly is the best product line for me. (:

  • holy mama her hair was frizzy after he finished! And after all that? No thanks, I'll stick with my mixed chicks. And he shouldn't have diffused her hair! That just creates more frizz, air-drying is a must.

  • does this wor for guys

  • This was good, but I just wish it didnt use so many products :(

  • It all depends on the end result you are looking for. You may be able to achieve a similar look with less products depending on your hair type. See your Redken stylist for a consultation and product recommendation for your curly hair.

  • Thanks for a new way to style curls!

  • Thanks Redken! This is a great curly hair tutorial. I know all of the curlies will love it!
