No hotter than most jet engines. If being followed by fire engines incase it catches fire is going to a condition of permit life will become rather limited.
Hopefully it was more to do with the crews wanting an excuse to get up close to the big bird.
It is common practice for Rescue & Fire-Fighting vehicles to be on "Local Standby" whenever such a complex aircraft lands or takes off. They were probably at their designated standby positions for the landing and followed the aircraft back to the Apron just to see her up close. Remember this is an Aircraft that is still undergoing tests, and as such would require emergency vehicles to be in close proximity to the landing area in case of problems.
