@antonpaulczuba WHAT? Give him room? There is clearly enough room for another car Schumacher just outbraked himself and went wide from the line he should have took and caused an avoidable incident.
@antonpaulczuba Montoya was right at 1:27, it was Schumacher's fault because he ruined the race of Juan Pablo breaking too late at the first hairpin and hitting him. It's very simple to understand, don't you believe?
why is the TV style different? I'm watching this race now, and the TV style is the classical yellow, but in this 2-minute video the TV style is white (I remember it from those days, but definitely not from this race)

very very very clear that Schumacher out braked himself for the corner and couldnt get the nose to bite, understeered clean into Montoya.. The ferrari engine was no match for the bmv. Charlie whiting was obviously waiting in line to suck schumachers goomaker that year
where's the radio from MS? And the camera shot from above showing both cars and the huge amount of space MS had is nowhere to be found! I remember this shot from the live TV cast like it was yesterday. FIA was (is?) crap.
@danwest1989 Truth. Oh wait a minute is "JPM fault, unless you´re a MS hater". Erm??.Cof... hello, hello is Mr policeman. Such a devious excuse to mislead people from the the truth. Perhaps we can do a review on to what MS did this year (010). Now that alone will be enough to said. The truth prevails MONTOYEAH.
Shumacher clearly braked later and harder and therefore kept the advantage heading into the curve, whereas Montoya slowed down more gradually. Montoya at fault, unless you're a Schumacher hater.
@Spancho91 Montoya's race line was exact and he was obviously faster off the line, we are all not crazy, its so clear to me that Michael thougth he had to due something. Millions of dollars should be reimbursed to both driver, team and engine supplier.
i love the sound of that BMW. Schumacher to me is cool, but he doesnt mind dishing out low blows against his "obvious" competitors, money can buy anything.
rubens didn't budge although montoya was ahead. Still, Montoya didn't have that corner owned just yet so I could see why Rubens tried to stick his nose. In the end, I would say it could have been avoided by Rubens. All he had to realize was it was Montoya he was gambling with. But we have to ask ourselves the question "Are we entertained more by this type of racing?" the answer is an obvious yes. F1 has become so boring nowadays. I love the Juan and Michael days.
@twoevilsockpuppets Hahaha! i think you chose the wrong words to categorize this era,JPM in particular (see video). But then again you'll like to tell us about that era in were there was an abundance of qualities, personal qualities that you referred to.
If .. I agree completely... BMW invested million and million in his engine P 83 .. in the year 2003. Ferrari knew that as engine the BMW it was insuperable .. because of it it resorted to the disgusting dirty game of the politics ... it observes Montoya exit like he it eats to Scumacher..
@mgarofano What actually happened was Schumacher made a rookie error. And the FIA protect him to try and make it seem Montoyas fault. But it wasn't. Basically what happened, Montoya got a much better start than Schumacher. Montoya attempts to pass around the outside. Schumacher cracks under Montoyas pressure, and takes the corner entry to fast to try and regain the lead. He's going to fast to take the corner, and understeers into Montoya. It wasn't deliberate, but it was his fault.
@mgarofano And before you start with all your conspiracy theories about Schumacher doing this on purpose. Remember, you don't have to have a conspiracy for eveything. Simple fact of the matter is Schumacher made a rookie error. Taking the inside line of the corner to fast to try and regain position, and running wide. Shame Montoya was there. However, there is no doubt that the FIA acted wrongfully on this. I reckon Ferrari paid them off.
@mgarofano The science to my theory. The inside line is the tighter route, so it is slower. However it is shorter. The outside route, where Montoya is; can be taken at a higher speed. It is also the longer way round though. So it is interesting that Schumacher is on the inside line yet he was travelling at a higher speed. Basically, he cracked uner the pressure Montoya put him under; and took the corner to fast trying to retake the lead. Serious rookie error that one.
@mgarofano I dont see any dirty move from Schumacher , . Montoya is a very good and very fast driver , but in this case he didnt leave the space to Schumi for a corner !
@mgarofano i agree with you on the point of schumacher being dirty, but his car was almost level with montoyas, and as much as i hate him and hate to say this, he was entitled to be in that spot unfortunately.
@twistednormal The fact here is simply that during fight everyone is entitled to defend also extremely his position .No doubt. The problem here is that schumacher ,with blocked wheels lose his car and goes clearly without control to impact Montoya on the outside He completely lose his car and ,as the trajectory shows clearly , he lose completely the line .Pratically to defend he made breaking the mistake because to the end he was too long and lost the car. Shamefully ,Montoya got the penalty
@hejda123 Yes ,he got an incredible penalty. Not the only shameful thing happened during that period. Schumacher had FIA in his pocket and many times happened incredible situations wich determinated sometime even people asking for money back becaise the swindle was very evident. That's why, apart from annals, Montoya is considered the 2003 W.Champion.
Anyway also with the penalty ( drive through) Montoya was able to finish the race is second position just behind Ralf .
People should watch the video monza 2003 hightlight to for understand why people watching carefully things are sure that Montoya is very much better than Schumy. And,be clear, monza 2003 is just an example.Schumy was good but Montoya is very much better and against him the only way has been the dirty joke of Ferrari,Ferrari-Sauber,Ferrari -Fia-Judges.But this has been not enough to obscure the reality,on the contrary this made more brightly Montoya's work that has been simply extraordinary

->Silverstone 94, Adelaide 94, Jerez 97, Monaco 06 ... just to name the big ones!
2) This was no unfair manouver at all. He gave Michael the room for not getting contact. Later in the race, Montoya got a "Drive Through Penalty" for this Incident. That was an unfair manouver, but made by the FIA.
Totally agree. You know many people just follow mainstream and someone simply can face the fact that Schumacher was a very dirty driver and that he has been often uncorrectly helped and many time directly by FIA.

Just one of the many situation in which judges"FIA" give no sense penalty to Montoya.
All this has been simply disgusting.Montoya had always to fight against Ferrari,Ferrari- Sauber,Judges(Ferrari-FIA) and if all this is not to much ,don't forget the useless Ralf Schumacher always disturbing.I suppose that considering all this Juan's job in F1 has been simply extraordinary
If JPM wouldn´t copied the set up from Ralf over the years he wouldn´t had a chance to beat him:
Do you forgot the races where Ralf missed (in 2004 after the Indy crash) some races ? Williams have become worse and worse and when Ralf came back they were much better ...

Montoya was up against exactly the same kind of bullshit that Hamilton was up against last year with the FIA... bullshit politics, unfair stewarding & 'red' money! And he was up against a driver who had a 'win at any cost' attitude who was allowed to get away with all kinds of dodgy shite. Montoya probably felt like he was fighting a losing battle, so nobody can really blame him for fuckin off to NASCAR.
F1 lost a great driver in Montoya, no thanks to the FIA!

I think Montoya made Schuey stick to the inside line as he swerved so aggresivelly towards it , n1 Monty 1 of the few drivers to give Schuey a good run for his money.

montoya is just a plain pussy. He knows that schumacher will not stop for no one and so he thinks he can take the corner. Its quite simple, when MS arrives, move out of the way :)
Montoya left F1 empty handed. I think Montoya was far better than Alonso but its unfortunate monty didnt have a team backing him all the way. He would have suited the current BMW.
You clearly don't know how race car drivers think. They don't care who is in front of them, if they have a chance to overtake them, they'll do whatever it takes.

I really belive that there are two kind of people in the world. Those who understand Montoya's art and those who don't.The second one usually are those who still haven't understand the dirty joke that Ferrari Fia did against Montoya.I suppose there is no way to change their "opinion" they usually simply follow in blind way the mainstream

I remebere very well this GP. Schumacher made a very dirty and frustrated move on the first corner but incredibly the penalty was for Montoya........without the shameful penalty the race should have been surely won by Montoya. Simply disgusting...

Montoya was one of the biggest motherf**** bastards ever in F1.
Nobody else made more unfair manouvres than Montoya.
Fskylos 2 years ago
1) Think about Michael Schumacher.
Allrounder182nd 2 years ago 2
Totally agree. You know many people just follow mainstream and someone simply can face the fact that Schumacher was a very dirty driver and that he has been often uncorrectly helped and many time directly by FIA.

Just one of the many situation in which judges"FIA" give no sense penalty to Montoya.
All this has been simply disgusting.Montoya had always to fight against Ferrari,Ferrari- Sauber,Judges(Ferrari-FIA) and if all this is not to much ,don't forget the useless Ralf Schumacher always disturbing.I suppose that considering all this Juan's job in F1 has been simply extraordinary

is that a joke ?
If JPM wouldn´t copied the set up from Ralf over the years he wouldn´t had a chance to beat him:
Do you forgot the races where Ralf missed (in 2004 after the Indy crash) some races ? Williams have become worse and worse and when Ralf came back they were much better ...
Coincidence ?

Yes, in that case he was on the out side and he did the same dirty move .
The incredible fact is that this time the penalty has been for Montoya.......no words !! Simply shameful .

It was 100 % Schumacher's fault. Montoya left him so much space!

I can't believe Montoya went through with the penalty. Should have made a stand.
In the end justice was served. Micheal lost in 2006 and Lewis defeated Ferrari in the best way possible.
I will never forget Montoya going beyond the apex in the Esses getting along side the Toyota.
Montoya's co ordination and reflexes were off the fucking scale.. the anger triggered that.

Because Montoya is Columbian and Schumacher is German. In which country there are more F1 sponsors??
legia97 2 years ago 2
Totally agree ,it' evident that this has nothing to do with true sport and at the same way F1 boycott sport we should boycott F1 simply avoiding to watch F1 races.

I would love to watch the entire race from this perspective, Montoya had a car fast enough to make may more overtakes.

like he said its like driving from a ferrari to a truck....but than again he did it for da money but still id never leve f1 for nascar

hondax72 ur missing the point!

Do you know how useless your comment was? Some kind of envy to Schumacher is that what I call ^^
Montoya made a mistake, it is his own fault, when he has the opinion that the track belongs to him.
BtW: Schumi & Vettel FTW in Wembley ^^
astra606 3 years ago
Looking at it, Montoya didn't give Michael enough room, so naturally contact and fighting over who's fault it was.
