yeah, but you can still play heavy stuff witha guitar in standard tuning. In my band we mostly play in standard tuning, whatever the key. But for one or two songs, we use half a step down tuned guitars. Cos some of the chords arnt possible on a standard tunined guitar.

I just made half a song from one riff by doing that.
