Nice video guys. A couple points of calcification: This machine weighs 15,500lbs. The massive weight is needed because the unit is only 3'11" wide. Secondly, as a general rule the steer end of the lift is concidered the front, the drive tire end the rear. Thanks again for the video. Bill @ Titan Equipment.
Good video guys, I used some equipment like that in Cedar Springs Mi. It was call a Sky-Jack. It was very similar to that one, and yes the tilting basket does come into play frequently.
IIRC, when they said once you take the key out you cant control it from the basket. Isnt that incorrect? least on the few i have used here in Australia. They key only controls the ground controls. You can still control it from the basket even if there is no key in it down at the bottom. Otherwise you have the potential for someone to take the key out while someone else is up in the basket and trap them up in it.
Very Good demonstration, Steve was certainly the best choice for demonstration despite the fact he spent a lot of time using it. A wide angel shot of it in motion with the boom part extended would have polished this video but all round an excellent promo for Titan Equipment.
If you work on a slope with the far end of the base pointing downhill, you can tilt the basket to work level, note that you can tilt more towards the machine than away from it, this is to do with centre of gravity, as a fully extended arm and full tilt away from the machine effectively makes the arm longer.
From what I have been told about the one we have work, the end with the steering wheels is the front. The front is normally determine by the fact that the boom doesnt rotate over the steering wheels so you do not change the way you approach things cause steering radius change with front or rear steer. This is what I have been told with the one I use at work.
@thoughtchallenge i saw that as well, but then i noticed it is also on the other side, one is yellow the other is blue, it corresponds to the driver controlls. :)
@si1entdave There are basically 2 types of vertical lift, one is the scissor lift which has crossed arms
the other is a true vertical lift that is more like a forklift, there are 'portable' models that you drag around by hand, usually battery operated, and used in sports halls etc for repairing lights.
i find this way of producing a vid verry unpersonal cam is just standing there :)
but then again, you want production quality no?
when you talking to each other it's so static...
this no trolling, this is just what i think :)

We had miniature versions of the genie at the DIy place i used to work for getting stock from top stock.
Favourite thing to do is hit the big red emergency stop bottom while some was in the air, and walk away.

Don't you need a license/training to drive one of those things?

so you could totally dick someone over by turning the key off and walking away with it while someone is fully extended up in the basket? lol.
and whats with the surfboard?
st1dinoh 1 month ago
You forgot to put in a shot of the lift fully extended, it's hard to believe that little thing can get 20 feet out and 20 up.

Is there a way to get down if the key is pulled while someone is in the boom?

Why does the cage tilt ?

It has an arrow between those tires...that probably means that's the front.

@thoughtchallenge there's arrows on both sides

The vertical ones are known as scissor lifts, at least in the UK

@si1entdave We tend to call them that in most places in the US as well.
