I remember this scene, but for some reason I don't remember getting traumatized. It was one of those scenes that I didn't give a crap about as long as the movie ended soon, because the movie was actually kind of boring to me for some reason. Now when I watch it, I go "Heeeeey, it's that weird scene from Dumbo." and then I see the part where the song goes "THEY'RE WALKING AROUND YOUR BED, ON THEIR HEAD..." and I realize this is the scariest thing I've ever seen, along with Watership Down
