So If accidentally the headphones slip off from the jack the music comes instantly from the speaker? Can it be turned off so the music doesn't pop right out from the speaker?

You can drag & drop files onto the unit? Sold. I detest few things as much as iTunes or any other bloatware that stands between you and simply putting your music on.

ive had my sony Walkman S540 for a little over a year and saw cowon....im really looking toget this...especially since even when it first came out, it never wowed me, plus when i used itunes for my sis' ipod, its was a pain in the ass, syncing through Windows media player or drag-and-drop is sooo much easier and it isnt all anally selective with formats like itunes...I might get a Cowon

My Klipsch ear buds are not working with the iAudio 9. the klipsch earbuds are 3.5mm. I noticed that the ear buds that have two rings around the metal part do work with it but the ones with three rings dont, should that be an issue? Do u know?

@Gabester64 Dunno if it'll help, but all the earphones I've owned had 2 rings, my charger for my iPod Shuffle however as 3 rings (it uses the headphone jack for charging)

@Gabester64 headphones / ear phones that have 3 rings around the jack don't work with Cowon i9 as they are designed to be used with iphones, ipod touch or the ipad because they have the controls on the cable and not all MP3 players work with them. Makesure you use headphones with two rings on the jack, I discovered this when I was trying out a Bowers & Wilkins P5 in my local apple store.

Can I listen to the FM radio on loud built-in speaker when headphones are attached (antenna)? Does it have such option in settings (to use: speaker, headphones or auto) or I can specify the output right in the radio player menu?

@davomrmac yes!! which makes me very sad because i want to be able to try it out, but i dont seem to see any cowon in any store and i dont think anyone even knows that a cowon is, most people only know ipod and zune, its sad that they don't know about the greater and actually goood mp3's out there :(((

anyways, should i get i9 or the j3? is battery life better on j3 and audio is the same right?

@davomrmac Not at all. iPod and maybe a Sansa. Apple is far too powerful here, and unfortunately everyone falls for their bullshit.

looks like a great player, I am just thinking about the inconvenience of navigating the player by using a touchscreen. the picture of taking it out of my pocket like million times a day is an ordeal for me. any comments on this??

@frankenstein5 inline controls on some MP3 players solve this, but to interact with devices we either need to click the buttons, turn the wheel ;) or touch the screen. Maybe in the future we will have a genius type app that'll learn what we like and create playlists for us… hmmmm that sounds familiar. I know what you mean though, someone needs to come up with something new on the control front.

@davomrmac a simple control on the headphones cable would do the trick in my case..I don't really need much, next & previous track would do the job just fine but then there is a problem of compatibility...anyway, i9 is sitting on my desk in front of me so the manufacturers have another 6-8 years to come up with something. I don't plan on getting a new until any time before that

Problem with Cowon is they're about 30% too expensive

That said, I only buy Cowon. Love this but don't need it, and would prefer to wait for the J3 which has a expandable slot for an extra 16gb (I need a minimum 30gb you see !)

Is there any difference in audio quality to the iPod besides the fact that it has more equilizer adjustment options?

I got an iPod nano 5g 16 gb with Sennheiser cx 300 II and it sounds pretty good too.

My first mp3-player was an iAudio U2, then iAudio 7 two years ago, and now I'm thinking of buying this. But I think the design was better with the iAudio 7, with such a small device it's better to hold it "horizontally" rather than "vertically", they're just trying to make it appeal to those used to iPod (that'll be about 90%).

Guys..! I just bought this mp4 one week ago and im sooooooooooooooooooo happy i bought this!!!!! The sound quality is AMAZING but it is recomendable to buy new in ear earphones.

The touch is sensitive as the Ipod Touch screen. (Multitouch)

This is very ver light! And small. Just buy it..! It sooo goooood! In terms of Sound Quality thi thing is MUCH Better than nano... ( i did a comparation)

@RobinScott93 Cowon just produces music player gadgets but apple? I have listened both and u can not compare sound quality with iaudio. Iaudio is the best player around now.

well you might wanna know that the sound quality on these things is WAY better than what you get on an apple ipod. if you haven't tried any iaudio, give them a try, you'll get the idea.

@RobinScott93, What is there to not understand about?...Its not that people hate apple so they buy cowon...its because it has more and useful functions than the nano, and its cheaper...and easier to use :) , and plus it does look better than the nano...and its something different than having an ipod which everyone else has :)
