@slimepuke Sometimes you can't take down a tree at in one cut (too tall). Then you cut it in sections. Like he's doing, a little at the time. He could prolly have taken a little less, but you get the idea.
Just for your information. This is no accident. It's intentional to not drop the crown to the ground with the risk of cutting wires on the way down. It's a bit stupid to take such a big piece right away, but he sure is a pro. Just look how calmly he attack his motorsaw on his belt and take a firm grip of the pole before it start swinging. This guy is actually a pro. All of you who call people idiots who are doing something you know nothing about are the true idiots. This is a residential tree removal. The top is being lowered down so it doesn't destroy a house, fence, landscape or whatever else is under the tree. There is a guy on the ground with a friction device who's job is to control the decent in order for this not to happen. When you do this five days a week, things happen. Skilled arborist here. But you all know better.
If a race car driver has a tire blow out, would he look skilled rolling down the track and burning? Does it mean he wasn't a skilled driver? No. But it wouldn't stop fools and critics like yourself from calling him an idiot based on footage of something they know nothing about.
You're criticizing a skilled arborist who has more balls and ability than you ever will for a few moments of footage that you know nothing about. And you disregarded my expert explanation. Fool. Critic.
It takes some time to notice the true error. It looks initially like he tied himself to the section of the tree that he was cutting off which is pure idiocy.
However, when one pays attention, it's more obvious that the rope attached to the top of the tree somehow got caught on him and that obviously someone off camera wasn't doign their job.
There is a rope on the very top which he uses to run a work line through in order to lower the top down. He also has a personal rope and a flip line for climbing. The working line goes down and through another device controlled by one of his ground men. Nothing got caught on him. If the guy on the ground slows the top of the tree down slowly, the tree doesn't go BOING. But if you let the top fall and then stop it suddenly, it does go BOING! Which is what happened here...
Its actually a matter of miscalculation they didn't give enough rope for the cut tree part to lower it self to a point that so it doesn't dangle or fall on the electric cables, probably they did, it just got stuck.
That is funny, but not very smart lol.
