  • Actually, the suits at Capitol gave him a lot of leeway and money to put up his orchestral funk partly because of his work as a producer (usually using the session musicians that would appear on his albums, like Earl Palmer), partly because they were into his music. His albums just never made any money, so he eventually had to go looking for record companies willing to fund his ambitious projects.

  • just incredible...had 2 listen this again...and again..

  • Total porn music. Where's John Holmes :) ?

  • @jonsilence nothing to do with porn music, you obviously dont get it.

  • On some man to man shit, David AXELRODS music brings tears to my eyes and digs in my soul soo much that goosebumps are permanent on my body now smh god dammit this is what music is suppose to do!

  • @VITHYM

No doubt, I'm totally with you. That guitar and bass work @ about 1:30 got me all choked up.

This music just cuts the shit and gets right down to business. Just viciously honest business.

  • Im 15 and I fckin love David Axelrods music

  • swag

  • @chudslayerr fuck you buddy

  • AMAZING

  • Remember when Pete Richardson played this while making out with that 280 lbs butch queen right over his deck! We were snowed in U.K. fag nights are the best-Thanks PETE!

  • Man, Axelrod is so cold. Nice.

  • how anyone could not think this man is a musical genius is beyond me

  • @silyen420 Who says otherwise? lol

  • OH MY GODDDD

  • thanks for posting this

  • kool g rap?

  • no, not quite. i know which kool G rap sample youre talking about. its the "take em to war' song off of 4,5,6 which came out before this song did. however, they did sample axelrod on that track... it was 'the divine image' off of songs of experience... to be more definitive, the sample occurs at around the 2:30 mark of the song.

  • whats the song at the start it is mesmerising lol

  • May be my favorite song ever. Incredibly emotional, and the bass player really shines on this cut. (Carol Kaye I believe)

  • @dampsox you are correct Kaye played on most of the old stuff from 68/69 into 71 i think, then he got some other guys who were ok but the sound changed a bit
