If he did cause her to sing as badly as she did ,he certainly should pay for it . Why is it that
women seem attracted to ugly men with tons of money -can't imagine Callas going out with an ugly garbage collector. Suppose life on a yacht with rich ugly boyfriend is not the same as life with garbage man in a walk up flat . There is a name for her type of woman.
@dziady1 Callas was an incredibly wealthy lady in her own right you stupid fool, have you not got anything to do than slander a dead lady who is not around to defend herself?!
@romaitalia29 It is always interesting to note how the lower orders resort to name calling whenever their ignorance is questioned and seem unable to put a coherent sentence
@dziady1 hmmm I would have though 'romaitalia29' was a clue for somebody with any intelligence :) As for name calling, I suggest you read your own comments rather that amusingly pompous yet highly hypocritical comments, thanks for laugh best way to start a day....!! As a medical doctor I feel more than empowered to construct a sentence despite English being my 4th language, how many languages to you speak?? ha ha
@dziady1 It however implies a level of education you clearly lack :) Why you feel I would want to treat somebody like you?... Somebody whose hobby is to insult dead ladies who achieved lots but who are no longer around to defend themselves is quite frankly pathetic. End of discussion.
Long before Callas, Onassis as a young struggling buisnessman managed to snare the legendary Soprano Claudia Muzio into a romantic relationship and got her to publicize his pink ladies cigarettes . He dumped her and never paid her for her endorsement. He also was assisted by a beautiful nordic woman in launching several enterprises. He used her too.He was not good looking, but women found him sexy and fascinating even before the money came in. Don't know if I buy the baby tale!
This Greek selfish pig, Onassis was a spoiled child to Maria who loved and took care of him. He betrayed her. But, she forgave him and, eventually, met her tragic fate. Not giving a birth but got an abortion. This Goddamned Onassis not only caused Maria's early death, but also a great loss to Opera world. Hope he is burning eternally in Hell!
In his biography "Troppo fiera, troppo fragile" Alfonso Signorini insists Callas was pregnant, that Onassis blew up at her when she told him, said he didn't want children by her, he already had two by his wife. The child (christened Omero) died of breathing difficulties shortly after he was born and was buried in a cemetery outside of Milan.Callas supposedly visited his grave once a month till she died, flying from Paris on Onassis' private jet, all according to Signorini. Who knows for sure?
See...this is utter crap...because Maria HAD Ari's child (a boy...named Omero, who died several hours after she gave birth...of breathing difficulties)Ah DO so wish peopler would at LEAST do their 'homework...BEFORE propagating myths and blatant lies...it not only does the angel of God (Maria) a HUGE disservice, but ALSO lessens the integrity of the person repeating the crap to begin with!!!!
@TheMrMarilyn I don't think anybody could be certain Callas gave birth to a baby boy, her maid never confirmed it, and the paper that "proves" this story is dated "1998" (28 years after Callas' death) and nobody could ever prove it wasn't a fake. Plus some pictures taken during Callas' "pregnancy" show that she was still fit for a 5months pregnant woman. I just think this story might have been made up. Anyways, it saddens me, Maria Callas was an amazing artist that's how she should be remembered
@Aspett0 I couldn't agree more. The story of her alleged pregnancy and following birth is so thin and derives attention from what is really important: Her amazing art. Furthermore, she was extremely sensitive about keeping her private affairs private, so if her fans truly love her as much as they claim, I think it would be more appropriate for them to leave her private life in peace and just enjoy all her wonderful recordings.
@Aspett0 I also think she would protest strongly if she knew that complete strangers consequently referred to her by her Christian name ("Maria did this, Maria sang that"), as she seemed to value oldfashioned courtesy and politeness. So - I agree with you 100% :)
Onisis was a whale killer. He made his forture driving this order to the brink of extinction. No class at all.
