  • It isn't at all from Prehistory. It's music of the Singing Mountain on the Dimensional Vortex in Chrono Trigger for Nintendo DS. Otherwise, the music appears on Prehistory only if you're playing Crimson Echoes.

  • Chrono Trigger. The most epic game in the world.

Nothing is better but maybe a better game can come but i fight Chrono Trigger will be the best game for me.

  • reminds me a little bit if laputa:castle in the sky. Dunno why

  • @AslanisJc Do u know that if they kept Singing Mountain, Black Omen wouldn't have fit. I like the fact u can choose which era u can fight it. I would luv to explore Singing Mountain and it's caves.

  • It's a shame this was removed. Prehistory never got really fleshed out. If they could release this as DLC I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

  • Square Enix should have put this dungeon back in the DS release instead of giving us that god awful Lost Sanctum side quest. Every nightmare I have now somehow involves Mount Emerald.

  • When I first heard this song on the Chrono Trigger OST, I honestly thought that this song was from Actraiser. This song sounds like it belongs in Actraiser.

  • what was the the singing mountains? because ive never actully seen any more than the music maybe it was replaced with the tryano lair perhaps?

  • @magus499

It was a dungeon in prehistory era that was removed.

Best guess, it was a sidequest area for Ayla to go with all the other character sidequests after you get the flying Epoch. Ayla doesn't get one, unlike everyone else.

  • Favorite song from one of my favorite games ever.

I only got the regular ending. Now to get other ones.

  • That's the theme that wasn't used in first CT. In CT for Nintendo DS, where you have additional areas known as Dimensional Vortex, the one from Prehistory ends up with Frozen Cliffs and as a music for that area, they use Singing Mountain

  • I don't understand why they bumped the piece off...

Though personally, I feel like it suits the Dark Ages more than the Pre-Historic era.

  • Didn't know those bitmaps were freely available.

  • I always figured this would be the music for Death Peak... Sounds melancholy enough.

  • This game one of the best compare to other RPG and I just wish this game went on forever because of the music and game play and traveling thru time is so epic. I have to still say the best RPG I had ever played with the most epic story line was XenoGears.

  • it looks a lot like hecron cave from 1000AD

  • Comment removed

  • i think this is the original map from the proto but i am not sure

  • There's also a cool RPG-Maker game called "Mondschein" (means moonlight) which starts exactly with this song. This song has some kind of magic and a deep longing I can't really describe.

  • I still think they should have used this song for the mountain you have to climb to revive Crono.

  • @sagesaria Before I beat Chrono Trigger, I downloaded an mp3 of this and guessed it was the song for the mountain. Crying shame they didn't think to use it for that.

  • if anyone knows the castle in the sky OST, doesn't this sound like the Laputa theme?

  • I know it, and you're right ;)

  • I agree, - it does sound very similar.

  • Now i think about it I agree as well. And i love that movies sound track just as well.

  • @harlequinsCrest oooh hey you're right it KINDA does. xD

  • The inner map (especially the darker part) reminds me a bit of FF Mystic Quest

  • huh, I have this on my soundtrack, but I wish it was in the game :(

  • dude in chrono trigger ds they have used this track in the dimensionak vortexes

  • what version do u have i have ds

  • I don't remember this

    someone explain please?

  • this map, and song wasn't realesed in final version of CT, that's all

    really beautiful song btw

  • the final version was in ct ds in the dimensional vortex after you beat the game in chrono trigger ds

  • How? what was done wrong?

  • which version did you play the ds or the original one the ds one has this sondtrack

  • So is this from Prehistory?

  • Yes is was.

  • @kaoz1024 No. Singing Mountain was an unused music track that remained resident in the game ROM, along with a second battle music. It was never implemented in the game.

  • @VaatiOfDarkness

if you play chrono trigger crimson echoes you can see an remastered version of singing mountain

  • This song would have worked for death peak (crono's resurrection) very well.

  • VERY very well. It's almost like a lament...

  • why wasnt this level realesd and if it was then is it on the DS chono trigger

  • Dunno, but it is on Chrono Trigger DS in a hidden level. But it looks nothing like the video.

  • I guess at 1:31 would have been the boss^^

even if it wasnt important, but they still could have used the song

  • Was anyone else disapointed that Singing mountain wasnt in the DS version, I thought with Squares past fanservice bonuses on the GBA FF's (such as Czar dragon in FF6) that it would be a definite shoe in for the bonus dungeon.

  • It was. It's in the Antiquity (12,000 BC) Dimensional Vortex, in the large snowy area.

  • i could have swore it was. I was on some mountain in the bonus quests and this song played.

  • Sorry didnt say it clearly.... was talking about the area itself. i saw an earlier trailer showing one of the bonus dungeons opening up in the pre history era, and thought it would be the Singing mountain. Even though it would have been different to what it would have originaly been it would still be awesome to explore the area (though in away it would take away the mystery of the area like if sega remade sonic 2 with hidden palace)

  • u took it from Chrono Trigger Crimson Echoes ?

  • There are some Secret of Mana maps in the video ^^

    CT and SoM best RPG's

  • Makes me wonder exactly what kind of awesomeness was in store for this game. I kinda imagine Singing Mountain being some sort of revealing of the future for Ayla's tribes or something.

  • Actually apparently the reason Singing Mountain was taken out is because they needed room for the black omen dungeon and this one actually held very little in the story line, so I doubt it could have been such a key event as the future.

    Just what I heard/my opinion

  • it was there any monsters inusitated?exclusive to the singing mountain?

  • Where is Singing Mountain's location?

  • It's located somewhere in Ayla's time. My theory of it is that's it's Death Peak in the past because we all know it's the mountain on the cover so It might be in the north in 6,500,000 BC, that's what I'm guessing.

  • i agree with it being death peak in 65,000,000 BC and i also think it wouldve been alyas true sidequest. notice how hers is much smaller in the game compared to everyone elses?

  • you sir have good taste. chrono trigger is awesome in every way, beats FF7 by a long shot.

  • oh yea. i aggree ^^

  • imo star ocean 2, xenogears, and chrono trigger are all better than FF7.

  • @xxSkyangelxx Chrono Trigger beats all post-16-bit era RPGs...

  • @Dant2142 Hmm maybe...but it depends on your taste in games and perspective otherwise i would definately agree with you for the most part. hehe ;)

  • @Dant2142 I have to disagree on your comment. I personally think that Phantasy Star IV and Earthbound is the best 16 bit rpgs. Chrono trigger is still a hell of a game and deserves to be one of the best ever made.

  • @Eatmyassproductions Hey, I never said that now... I said all POST 16-bit games, I agree that there were a few better games that were 16-bit.

  • @Dant2142 Its okay man i misunderstood your comment.

  • @xxSkyangelxx Not just that, Chrono Trigger destroys the entire over hyped FF series. I like the series, but they never approached the perfection that was Chrono Trigger. It's a shame it was never expanded on after Cross.

  • @xxSkyangelxx WIN

  • @xxSkyangelxx But FF6 Beats All, Not Saying Chrono Trigger Is Bad or Anything Though Because It's Far From It.

  • cool good memorys
