  • Very nice but I still prefer the Kenny Ball version with Dave Jones on clarinet...Pye LP NJL28 or PLP1086... one of my top 20 songs/tunes of all genres heard in my lifetime.

  • What a player!

  • I saw Acker Bilk and his Paramount Jazz Band back in 1964, in Gothenburg's Concert Hall. A Great Concert!

  • I certainly wasn't brought up on Acker Bilk, but I've heard of him through my parents. That instrumental was simply amazing. How can anyone play like that?

  • The best jazz clarinetist in the world!

  • Why so brief?

  • How Awesome to be able to hear this great musician through my computer!!

  • Clever musical phrasing, a signature sound, talented and to 'seal-the-deal' his distinctive look.

  • Enjoyed this lively tune, and I remember him from the time.

  • I really enjoyed this lively number, remembered him at the time (and Pete Fountain). Certainly got the blood pumping here!!

  • super merci

  • Colin Smith on trumpet

    John Mortimer on trombone
