  • Easy raku clay body -- 50% talc 50% ball clay :)

  • Well, technically I'm 'reducing' the hot wares in a combustible media. this is where the black clay body is formed and all the really cool black cracks come from. then we take the pot and quench it in water to stop the colors changing (if it has colors)

  • Hey! Cool video! I agree with her...both of them turned out REALLY well!

Any more of these coming? I hope so.

  • any chance of posting how to make one of these trashcan kiln's was wonder what you use to burn inside it to get it that hot

sorry if double posted dc'd as i posted the first one

  • Head over to our web site @

    doubleyou-doubleyou-doubleyou-dot-corvusmoon-dot-com

and check out the plans to build a raku kiln.

  • do you ever worry about the vessels cracking when you put them in water because of the temperature change?

  • Nope- Raku clay is a highly 'refractory' clay body, but it does happen! about 1 in every 20 will pop.

  • Amazing!

  • Beautiful!!!
