Is it possible to take street performing to the next level?

I'd guess that depends on the individual. I started out playing things like parties, wedding receptions and taverns. I've played, profesionally, and open microhne, at comedy shops and have bounced around with a couple of bands, briefly, and several combos..duets/trios-mostly. Many gigs I've played (including both the street and in taverns/parties) start out as a solo or duet then expand to around 4 or 5 players.
