i saw him playing live and i was amazed

    he's absolutely a titan

  • cool

  • The first song I can just image a scene that is just like Vincent Van Gogh's "The Night Cafe"! Beautiful, great upload! Thankyou

  • It's "Duke Ellington's Sound of Love" by Charles Mingus.

  • Thanks very much!

  • wow, hearing him play eternal joy with the aulochrome is like a dream coming true. I can't wait to buy this cd!!

  • Hey Joe -- I know a lot of cats who bitch about your sound. I, for one, think you are "the shit". Great job.

  • I am guessin' it is because they are either jealous or lovers of the shrill bottomless sax sound...

  • @bsharp2222

I got this CD mainly because of Abene's arrangements for large orchestra. I know Joe is a fine musician, however I don't dig his sound nor his approach to improvising. He sounds as if he is always babbling. I am more oriented to a fluid, liquid clear and solid improvisation on tenor such as Ernie Watt's of Bob Berg's.

  • Good stuff.

  • joe you are such a wonderful musician,i love it

  • Wonderful, innovative music. Thanks for posting this. I'll look for the CD in September.

  • Wow, really interesting, I guess I'll be standing first in line to buy this one when it comes out in september!

  • Great news. sounds great.

  • The Amazing Joe Lovano!

What other musician plays with so many different groups in so many different settings.

  • brilliant!!
