  • oh and by the way retards the concept of zero every one knows came from the maya, aztec original natives of mexico.......

  • @DeutscheGesinnung You know it so much ... you must be an expert in goat love making ... whatever you fancy ...

  • i do think ur life is a bitch coz u are not a muslim.....

  • Science is beautiful. God commands in the Qur'an to both women and men to acquire knowledge. He encourages the believer and non-believer to ask questions about science in all it's forms. Devout Ottoman women were the first female astronomers. Non-Muslims too have benefited greatly from Islamic science, so one needs not to be a Muslim to find inspiritation in the Quran.

  • You are comparing cockroaches (muslims) with humans (non-muslims). No competition there.

  • @tempac91 u probably need to see a lot abt islam...... i think u are thinking that islam is a pure cruel but like i said u need to see a lot of islam......

  • i got a dick to beat ur mom u mother fucker

  • stupid..do yuo know zero is arabic, alchol is arabic, alcaly is arabic, algebra is arabic...and you talk shitly here.you must be only a stupid..and 1,2,3,4,5 is passed from muslims to western languages..

  • @erhan7332 The Number "Zero" & Concept of "Infinity" was first proposed by Ancient Greeks 1000 years before Islam & Also practically used as a Number by Ancient Indian Mathematicians. Through Trade & Travel, Arabians came to know about the Hindu Numerals as they were originally called. Muslims never actually Invented Algebra but Muslim Scholars can be credited to coming up with new Methods of Solving Algebraic Problems with the help of old Works as their reference & also helped preserve them.

  • @erhan7332 yo a, even Fibonacci learned to a Muslim scholar

  • hahahah there the device that you use today shame there wasnt western

  • 27 languages! genius

  • In the name of Allah,

    Most Gracious, Most Merciful.

Has not the Time arrived for the Believers that their hearts in all humility should engage in the remembrance of Allah and of the Truth which has been revealed (to them),

and that they should not become like those to whom was given Revelation aforetime,

but long ages passed over them and their hearts grew hard?

For many among them are rebellious transgressors.

    Surah 57.16 Al-Hadid (Iron)

  • In (2 Kings 10:18-27), your God orders the murder of all the worshipers of a different god in their very own church!

Your God of the Bible also allows child abuse (Judges 11:29-40 and Isaiah 13:16), slavery, including selling your own daughter as a sex slave (Exodus 21:1-11), and bashing babies against rocks (Hosea 13:16 & Psalms 137:9).

  • Third point - Some countries in the middle east are so filthy rich and yet they don't produce anything. But you take any country in Europe, America or Far East you'll see that every country contributes something to human kind, be it a car, a watch, a stereo and so on. On the hand countries like Kuwait, Qatar, UAE build their economy only on oil and gas. And with all that money people there send their children to get the best education in Europe

  • I agree on the conditions of Muslim world today, similarly you should not deny history.

Like everyone wants (needs) English & to settle in USA, scholars were flocking to Baghdad, Damascus, Cordoba, Cairo in Middle Ages and learned Arabic coz volumes of books from around the world were translated in Arabic

Paul Lunde: "One of the earliest of these scholars was Abbas ibn Firnas, who died in the year 888 and who, had he lived in the Florence of the Medici, would have been a Renaissance man."

  • You turned from your ignorance of history of science to religion (your ignorance to anything except present day Western society).

    1. Allah = Al ilah = The God (Hebrew for god = Eloh)

    2. Prophet did not execute mass killings read history to see the explanation (if you are referring to Jews of Qurayzah, they violated a treaty and that's why Muslims fought them).

    3. Do you think it's right for 12 and 14 year olds to have romance? Shakespeare's Juliet was 13, it was norm of that society.

  • (contd)

    Paul Lunde

"In the ninth century, the library of the monastery of St. Gall was the largest in Europe, boasting 36 volumes. At the same time, that of Córdoba contained 500,000. The cultural lag between East and West in the Middle Ages can be attributed partly to the fact that the Arabs had paper, while the Latin West did not."

"Arabic, in a surprisingly short time, had become the international language of science, as English has today."

  • my second point is - religion and science can't coexist together, simply because they contradict to each other, one of the major reasons why West advanced so much is because scientists distanced themselves from religion. In muslims world people are much closer to religion and it seems to me that Islam does not provide the opportunity development, and I'm not talking only about science.Take art, music, ballet, opera, space exploration, financial market and so on.

  • "religion and science can't coexist"

That has been true in Christian world where anyone saying "earth is not flat" was a heretic and sentenced to death until 16th Cent. but that was not the case with Muslims; Quran tells people to go out and explore the signs of God, Saying of Prophet Muhammad says "The ink of a scholar is holier than the blood of a martyr". Christians believed diseases were caused by God but Prophet said " Allah has not made a disease without appointing a remedy for it"

  • I knew you were gonna talk about quran and mushamed :)

    this is getting rediculous.

Quran just like Bible Torah or any other book was written by people to control people. But to prove you that quran is fake I'm just gonna mention one thing, and that is - there is no historical proof that Jesus existed. All Chrisitian philosophy is based on a myth, but Muhamed of course didn't know about it and included Jesus's name in the quran more than his own :)

  • You dont know better; Quran is nothing like the Bible, no one knows who authored Bible, there are several versions of Bible, original didn't survive, even the original language is now extinct.

We don't know anything about who wrote which book, what were the last names of Matthew Mark Luke John.

Quran still in original language, spoken by millions, no two copies on earth differ. Even sayinsg of Prophet are more well-preserved, biographies are there of people in the chain of the narration.

  • you missed the point

I said Jesus did not exist! but it's mentioned in the quran many times therefore quran is just like the bible or any other book.

there are many passages in the quran ordering muslims to kill the infidels, and not to become friends with them.

many say that you will burn in hell for something, over and over

Do you really believe that allah would write something like that???

  • 4. Adopted son doesnt make real bonds of blood, no issue with that.

    5. You believe Jesus didn't exist, why am I supposed to believe that?

    6. There is no passage in Quran telling Muslims to kill infidels except in self-defense and in fight against oppression.

    7. If there is no moral accountability (heaven vs hell) then why would you want to avoid bad things?

YOU IGNORE HISTORY, U CONSTANTLY IGNORED MY REFERENCES AND NOW U SHIFT THE TOPIC. IF U WANT TO BE IGNORANT I CANT DO ANYTHING.

  • first of all you brought allah and muhamad into our discussion, not me!!!

it seems you justified all muhamad actions even killings and marriage to his sons wife

    now that is sick

    you are delusional

religion should never teach to kill

religion should never scare a person by thretening to burn in hell

  • why should you believe that Jesus did not exist,

1 there is no historical documents conferming his existance

2 you don't belive in bible so how can you belive anything that written in it?????

  • who wrote quran?

    where is the original vergion?

how can you deny the bible if all Christian and Jewish saints are listed in the quran?

    You're contradicting yourself!!!

  • Muslim scholars were polymaths, they were learned in Islamic law as well as in Chemistry, Astronomy, Medical science etc.

Weird it may seem to you, many discoveries were motivated by religion; soap (7th century, for cleanliness), water fountains (ablution), clocks (timekeeping), astrolabes (Kaaba direction for prayers).

The first mechanical alarm clock was made by Taqi Al-Din (Turk/Arab). The magnetic compass was arguably invented by Muslims.

  • very pathetic, they talk about foundation of science completely disregarding ancient Greeks, Egyptians, Romans, Chinese, Indians...

turks did even exist then, nor islam

I would really like to know what scientific discoveries were made by muslims in the last 500 years!!!

  • You need to read history to figure out that Muslims were the first to use logic and reasoning and they were the first to doubt centuries old ideas based on scientific observations (like Ptolemy's model); it were the Muslims who started Renaissance, it were Muslims books on Chemistry, Medical Science, Mathematics, Algebra that were translated into Latin and taught in Europe for centuries, Copernicus of 15th century used Muslim works for his ideas and then Newton.

  • you're saying that muslims invented something and right away you're naming European scientists ... :))))

there is nothing else I can add

  • What is your point there? You are ignorant and I'm giving you European Christian names because you are familiar with them, but you have no clue that these folks used the existing knowledgebase from Muslim scientists, books written by Muslims were taught in Europe for several centuries, countless Arabic ideas, inventions and discoveries were introduced to Europe later and their latinized names are still in use.

  • my point is that you couldn't name any muslims scientist who made a discovery in the last 500 years

all you say is that muslims invented everything!

Why don't you say that muslims may have used and improved everything which was discovered by ancient Greeks, Romans, Egyptians, Chinese

No... you're not saying it... why?

You are the ignorant one, not me!

  • When ancient Greek, Roman etc sciences were lost to the West, Islamic scientists studied, rediscovered and reunderstood it and gave it back to the West in a more advanced form. The Muslims improved the concept of Maths and discovered 0. Jewish and Christian scientists were often the disciples of Muslim scientists who would then teach other Jewish and Christian students of science.

    Science truelly unites people.

  • @melodyeastern but now we have nothing , time to rise , and it prooves what happenes if you teach people who against you

  • @melodyeastern I agree, and respect any development of science with no distinction of religion nor race. It is a pity that many people are ignorant towards other peoples ideology's, when they have been put in a bad daylight by so few. and from there kick against what they don't understand, It's only human I assume..

  • @melodyeastern and your point is,muslims didn't create it,your analogy is ridiculous....

  • What's common in:

Algebra, Algorithm, Alchemy, crystallization, filtration, liquification, water purification, gun, matchlock, explosive gunpoder, lusterware, tin-glazed pottery, tar roads, pavements, paper mills, sugar refinery, cosmetoloy, soap, toothpaste, lotions, perfumes, restaurants, Library, Hospital, parachutes, gliders, spherical astrolabe, Coffee, University, University Gown, cap

Muslim invented, improved these centuries before Christian Europe knew about them.

    1001inventions[.]com

  • once again, completely disregarding the ancients, like they didn't even exist...

when you say stuff like that, does it make you feel better?

you talk about something that took place thousands of years ago, why don't you take a look at islam now!

Everything you use is designed in the West or far East, everything! your watch, car, mobile phone, computer...

  • gevork2007, your problem is that you have been told that there were the ancients, the Greek and then 1000 yrs of dark ages and then renaissance, you are not told that Columbus used maps & navigation of Muslims, that Copernicus and Newton used calculations of Muslims, that Muslims invented/discovered these: Algebra (Al-Jabr wal Muqabla), Algorithm (Alkhwarizmi), Alchemy (Al-Kemia), soap (same formula still being used today), surgery (Christians didnt cut body coz it was "sacred").

  • Islamic countries in general are going through a dark age for the past few centuries but you can't ignore the contributions of Muslims to the things you mentioned; Muslims had the latest clocks and navigation 1000 years ago, Muslims designed Algebra and Algorithms, there would be no computers without Algebra and Algorithms, both Muslim contributions. Read about Al-Jazari's automata. Da Vinci's Vitruvian man is famous but Muslims knew about that proportion 500 years earlier.

  • I'm not ignoring the contributions of muslims, I'm simply saying they inherited the knowledge from the ancients and improved technology, just like Europeans did.

The problems with your logic is that, if muslims were the first to invent something why is it that Europeans used it and advanced so much in technology. Every modern discovery is made my Europeans, Americans and Asians.

  • gevork,

That sounds like a reasonable response from you. You can say the same about British sceintists, they gave ideas on several things that materialized in USA.

Decline of Muslims started when they distanced themselves from education (Europe was just starting to embrace education).

    1. Crusaders destroyed libraries in Syria, Lebanon, Palestine

    2. Baghdad & its books destroyed by Mongols (Helagu & Ghengiz)

    3. Spanish Christians did the same in Cordoba.

    Millions of books lost.

  • well, if muslim books were destroyed how could Europeans learn from them?

    you're missing something...

  • You can check references on wiki page for "Islamic Golden Age":

"By the 10th century, Cordoba had 700 mosques, 60,000 palaces, and 70 libraries, the largest of which had 600,000 books. In the whole al-Andalus, 60,000 treatises, poems, polemics and compilations were published each year. The library of Cairo had two million books, while the library of Tripoli is said to have had as many as three million books before it was destroyed by Crusaders."

  • (contd)

"The number of important and original medieval Arabic works on the mathematical sciences far exceeds the combined total of medieval Latin and Greek works of comparable significance, although only a small fraction of the surviving Arabic scientific works have been studied in modern times."

  • If you really don't know, you can look up these FACTS, you can find references on wiki pages for Islamic Golden Age, Al-Andalus etc.

Millions of books were destroyed but many of the important works were preserved, many of the Muslims' books were translated into Latin and taught in Europe for centuries. Ibne Sena's Canon of Medicine (from Arabic: Qanoon, 10th century) is the most prominent that comes to mind, it was taught until 17th century in Europe.

  • Before these tragedies, Muslims were at the forefront of science and industry, Muslims built the first Libraries, the first hospitals (i.e. separated medical science from exorcism etc), Muslims built the first Universities. Each of Baghdad, Damascus, Cairo, Cordoba etc had dozens of hospitals, pharmacies, libraries, that was centuries before Europe had anything like that. In 1400CE Univ of Paris only had 2000 books whereas 10th Century Muslim cities had 50+ libraries, 100's of thousands of books

  • I must have read this somewhere, and it seems like this information confused you

First libraries? Even queen Cleopatra had Libraries!

Hospitals - Romans and Egyptians had then in BC times.

As for Universities - go to Wikipedia and type University, you will see that by the time of Muhamad, Universities were all over the Europe an Asia

  • From the very page you referred to, wiki page for University:

"If the definition of a university is assumed to mean an institution of higher education and research which issues academic degrees at all levels (bachelor, master and doctorate) like in the modern sense of the word, then the medieval Madrasahs known as Jami'ah founded in the 9th century would be the first examples of such an institution. "

  • (contd)

"The University of Al Karaouine in Fez, Morocco is thus recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records as the oldest degree-granting university in the world with its founding in 859 by Fatima al-Fihri."

  • The first lending libraries as we know them today in modern civilization were introduced by Muslims.

    Wiki page for Library:

"The "halls of science" run by different Islamic sects in many cities of North Africa and the Middle East in the 9th century were open to the public. Some of them had written lending policies, but they were very restrictive. Most patrons were expected to consult the books in situ."

  • The first hospitals as we know it today (separate from healing temples) with separate wards for different treatments, were introduced by Muslims.

    Wiki page for Hospital:

"In the medieval Islamic world, the word "Bimaristan" was used to indicate a hospital in the modern sense, an establishment where the ill were welcomed and cared for by qualified staff.

Muslim physicians were the first to make a distinction between a hospital and other different

  • (contd)

"forms of healing temples, sleep temples, hospices, assylums, lazarets and leper-houses, all of which in ancient times were more concerned with isolating the sick and the mad from society "rather than to offer them any way to a true cure." Some thus consider the medieval Bimaristan hospitals as "the first hospitals" in the modern sense of the word. The first public hospitals, psychiatric hospitals and medical universities were also introduced by medieval Muslim physicians."

  • Muslims did not merely improved on existing knowledge, they were the first to introduce scientific method; scholars like Ibn Al-Haitham were the first to present the idea that science must be consistent with observations and maths and the results should be repeatable. That was the BIRTH OF SCIENCE as we now know it.

Muslims were the first to doubt centuries old traditions, they knew centuries before Christian Europe that the earth is round. These ideas and books started Christian renaissance.

  • again, these ideas are not yours, you're just repeating them after somebody said that - which does not necessarily mean true history.

You need to read about Ancient Greek scientists - it might change your mind. You'll be amazed to learn how much they have contributed to Science.

    Why are you ignoring them?

Why are you so eager to say what Europeans have learned from muslims but you never want to admit that muslims learned everything from Europeans???

  • gevork, why are you hell bent on not accepting the fact that Muslims did not learn everything from Ancient Greeks and Muslims actually introduced the scientific method (experimentation, observation) and that Muslims laid the foundation of our modern civilization?

What I quoted is from scientists around the world who give due credit to Muslims.

To say that Muslims learned all from Greeks would be as absurd as saying modern scientists as Copernicus, Newton, Einstein learned all from Muslims.

  • why? because to say that Europeans learned all from Muslims would be even more absurd

Name one non islamic source which says that Copernicus, Newton, Einstein learned all from Muslims.

    this is too funny :)

Einstein must have turned up side down when he heard something like that :)

Edison and Tesla also learned electricity from muslims???

What about Sergey Korolev, Guglielmo Marconi...

  • Copernicus used the works of Al-Tusi, Urdi and Ibn Al-Shatir, Newton used the observations (pendulum swing time etc) from all around the world to prove his theory of gravity and a large part of the data was from Muslims, Einstein (like all modern scientists) used Algebraic equations and Algebra was introduced by Alkhwarizmi.

Note the difference; I am saying the Europeans used Muslim knowledge and data (not that they learned all from Muslims), you say that Muslims learned all from Greek.

  • you just said "modern scientists as Copernicus, Newton, Einstein learned all from Muslims"

  • I thought English was your first language but let me explain:

There is a difference between "they all learned from Muslims" (means all of them borrowed some from Muslims)

    AND

"they learned all from Muslims" (means all they knew came from Muslims)

What I am saying is that modern scientists built further on the platform that was originally built by Muslims; empirical data, observation and repeatable experiment is considered science (Greeks did not give this idea, Muslims did)

  • so if Einstein used Algebra, you're concluding that he used muslim knowledge?

by they way this is what Wikipedia says about Algebra - word "algebra" comes from Arabic word (al-jabr , الجبر), its origins can be traced to the ancient Babylonians, who developed an advanced arithmetical system with which they were able to do calculations in an algebraic fashion...

Well in that case you can say that muslims used Babylonian knowledge for their inventions, right?

  • Like I said before, I'm not saying that "Europeans didn't give anything new, they borrowed all from Muslims "

You are the one who is saying that "Muslims didn't do anything new, it as all taken from the Ancients, the Greeks".

I am saying that your statement is as ridiculous as saying "Europeans didn't give anything new, they used everything from Muslims."

The names of the great Muslims scholars should be right there with Ptolemy, Copernicus, Newton etc, that's all I say & you deny that.

  • I disagree with you, but that's not important, we can argue forever...

my point was that muslim world stock in the dark ages whereas West and Far East have advanced so far that the standards of living there cannot even be compared. As a result millions of muslims live their homes and immigrate to the West. What affect do you think it will make to the muslims world?

  • I agree with you that the Muslim world is in decline for the past few centuries, reasons are the Crusader & Mongol invasions, Spanish Reconquesta, plagues that killed huge parts of populations, giving up tolerance for ideas and innovations, they grew so weak that they were easily colonized and even today most Muslim countries have Pro-Western puppet dictators. Muslim countries don't spend a lot on education (except Turkey and Malaysia) and many Muslims chose to immigrate to West (like msyelf).

  • The affect on the decline of Muslim world is evident in many forms, the standard of living, the quality of life, health, education, economy, military etc and the divide between the strong (generally) West and the (overall) weak Muslim world is more evident in this post-modern world where the countries who are just a few decades behind are so weak that there's no comparison. USA wont have attacked Iraq, Afghanistan etc if they were like Germany or France militarily.

  • About Medeival Muslim science, I urge you to read some of the references I mentioned, these really were ground-breaking things and the Muslims were centuries ahead of the Christian Europe and that part was systematically erased from history.

Today Muslims aren't centuries behind but the technology has developed at break-neck pace that even a few decades are light-years.

I urge you to read the many articles that give Muslim contribution its due credit: tinyurl[.]com/planetherbs

  • From A Short History of the Arab Peoples by John Bagot Glubb

"The indebtedness of Western Christendom to Arab civilization was systematically played down, if not completely denied. A tradition was built up, by censorship and propaganda, that the Muslim imperialists had been mere barbarians and that the rebirth of learning in the West was derived directly from Roman and Greek sources alone, without any Arab intervention."

  • The Greeks were great philosophers, first to suggest answers but they didn't have it all right, they thought earth was flat, everything consists of fire, water, wind and earth.

Muslims started classifying substances based on their phsyical & chemical properties (Al-Raazi 9th cent), Ibn Al-Haitham (10th cent) first explained eye, built first camera (Qamara), Ibn Sena wrote 450 treatises incl Canon, Ibn Al-Nafis first described blood circulation (13th cent, 400 years before William Harvey).

  • Greeks thought earth was flat, and you say Muslims learned all from Greeks? Muslims knew it was spherical and they calculated earth's circumference within 1% of today's figure in 10th century, Europe didn't know about it until 16th century.

"Al-Biruni 973-1048 (calculated the radius of earth as 6,339.9 km which was only 16.8 km less than the modern value of 6,356.7 km, the number would not be known to Europe by 16th century)."

  • you did not answer

if muslim books were burn as you say, how could Europeans learn from muslim???

what about all modern invention? for the last 300 years there wasn't a single muslim scientist who made a discovery.

All you talked about was what happened 1000 years ago. Western world has moved despite all the wars. West has created a better life for people, millions of muslims prefer to live there than in islam - you can't deny that.

  • gevork,

I will give you references of Non-Muslim scientists and you promise you will check the references and you won't deny the facts any more, we have a deal?

Read the following: Lost History: The Enduring Legacy of Muslim Scientists, Thinkers and Artists, by Michael Hamilton Morgan. (Nat'l Geographic)

Several books by George Saliba, esp: A History of Arabic Astronomy

Astronomy and Islamic society by David A. King

How Islam Created the Modern World

    by Mark Graham

  • "A number of important institutions previously unknown in the ancient world have their origins in the medieval Islamic world, with the most notable examples being: the public hospital (which replaced healing temples and sleep temples) and psychiatric hospital, the public library and lending library, the academic degree-granting university, the astronomical observatory as a research institute (as opposed to a private observation post as was the case in ancient times), and the trust (Waqf)."

  • malaysia is islamic country..and these muslims have built many models of car..the brand is called proton..

  • Proton is based on technology and parts from Mitsubishi Motors

    think again!

  • Is there a single islamic country that can design, let alone build, a car?

  • Hello do u kno that if 1/2 muslims in usa form india leave usa and come back home or if we take Europe the country or the continent will fall down to a level that no one can imagine coz. the countries like usa nd european countries offer us more salary than our country if u look in car factory before and after this event in europe and usa the factory will be working fine but after this event their wont be any factory's in these countries............

  • I think this is supposed to be in English. Will someone please translate?

  • mashallah
