  • Love to get my hands on that one and take it too the max on a track, just beautiful

  • cool helmet

  • yay

  • shit!!!! I completely forgot that I have it in my garage, let's go for a ride :):):)

  • Drove this july 2nd 2011 on the BMW Motorrad Days in Garmisch, must say it is a very nice bike. BMW states now that it has 202 bhp in its folder. Semi auto gearchange is suffisticated. Heavy on the wrists but hard accelleration in all gears. Handles well on Metzler tires. . . . There are cracks appearing in my Ducati 900 SSC '97 model. . . . well, it's over 15 years of development taking its toll. . . .

  • very cool bike, but whats up with the 2 different headlights? I know the larger one is for low beam and high beam but the lack of symmetry gets to me

  • Camera car screeching hard to follow in the corners...

  • Women climax to the sound of this bike.

  • Go Go Go! google

  • Germans rock.

  • awsome bike dude!

  • Mine will be here in a month. I am salivating!

  • Dear Santa...

  • how much for this bike? US price

  • sorry assed cameraman...

  • love this bike.wish have that bike.someone rich man.bring here in Phillipines

  • Thank You. Portimão its great track

  • ''live'' - sorry i'm Studying inglish yet here !

  • Brazil fuck our dream man, this bike is R$ 76.000,00 here - fuck you brazil when i grow up i'm going leave in USA - FUCK OFF !

  • anyone knows the model of the helmet???

  • @osm1981 It´s the BMW Double R Sport Helmet!

  • I want this bike so bad.

  • Supersweet bike, but what's up with the asymmetrical headlights? It looks like it's squinting an eye.

  • na j

  • That bike is soo sexy. *drools*

  • the new ninja has a bit more hp... has the features this has as well, but not yet available. Any thoughts on that bike?

  • 2010 rr1000 or 2010 e92 m3

god help me what to do

    /jizz

  • Wow, was für eine Rakete. Grandioses Motorrad, technisch absolut Spitze.

  • really gr8 bmw

  • wundebare :)

  • I love how you can hear the tire squeal from the camera car/truck =)

  • This is at Portimão race track? Portugal? Thanks

  • @RapelTT Yes, it deflinitely looks like it!

BRAVO!!!

    BMW RULES!!!!!

  • @windi1982 Und was ist mit der 2011er ZX10r? ;)

  • im not a bike guy, as a matter of fact this is the first bike video ive seen in my life ... but man i need that bike!

  • @Charlie135i - Fill out your organ doner card. That isn't where you want to start ;-)

  • @6string34639 I'd disagree, I own the S1000rr, and it is the 2nd bike I have every ridden......the 1st being the 250cc I did my test on. I ride every weekend at the Moto GP Losail circuit here in Qatar and I've found it a great bike to learn on! Stable, predictable, and unbelievably smooth to ride. I'm a very competent rider now, and can take on most seasoned riders around the track. If you have the cash and you think you have the natural talent, then go ahead, I've not looked back!

  • @Charlie135i tThis is never ever goin to be a starts bike just sayin. learn first on like 150cc dirtbikes or something.?

  • @areyouyo Oh yeah, I know, getting this for a first bike is suicide :)

    Beste Topspeed

Bester Durchzug (auch dank genialem Schaltassistent)

    Beste Technik...mit Abstand!

und für 15500 Euro preislich echt Okay.

    noch fragen?

  • I just read a test in a dutch magazine. The power of this bike is amazing. It has 205hp, and the best japanese bike scored only 182 hp on the same dyno. The least powerfull bike was the aprilia rsv 4 with 177 hp

The funny thing is, is that the aprilia had the quickest laptimes(professional race rider)

power isn't everything, but the others really have something to worry about.

  • it has 202 hp

  • @CarloBerlin89 crank hp doesnt count.. its really like 190

  • @asmovftw

auf dem leistungsprüfstand bringt sie 202 PS!

  • thankssss

  • top speeed?

  • @mapishpetin 324 km/h

  • rrrrrrr

  • Perfect video! OMG!

  • If BMW's are so good, why aren't they leading the SBK World Championship? Two teams with such renown names like Corser, Xaus, Tamada or Pitt and they're nowhere to be seen.

  • bike looks good but its very little for a 1k and the mirrors are ugly as hell

but over all a nice bike but cant mess up with a suzuki

  • @chris2010 This bike will whoop a GSX-R 1000, look at the stats , this beamer has 193 horse at the rear wheel.

  • @JACKSONAXER

it has 193 engine hp doesnt mean rwhp

    and the gixer has 185

thats a 8 hp difference but look what a gixer do with a r1 and the r1 has 190

so also the bemmer would be no problem for the gsxr not on the street and on the track no way

  • This vid has very good camera angles!!!

  • i wouldn't know what to buy...Ducati 1198s or the BMW S1000RR....

    PS: Japan sucks ;-)

  • @KTMFelix this is stupid to say !!!!! wery stupid....

  • Why can't anyone design a statement bike properly? For instance, the turn signals should be swept back...a innovative, German core aviational trait. BMW shouldn't have left any corner uncovered. Its surprising that anyone attempting to produce a hardcore, technologically stellar bike would overlook 3rd-order design details. BMW could have devastated the competition with a price not more than $1000 over their price.

  • @Tata996

cuz nobody uses mirrors on the track

  • Is this love.... that i am feeling.... Is this the love that i´ve been searching for is this love? Or am i dreaming....

  • @Kommanter51475 neither you just came

  • @nastynash96 Sorry... Couldn't help myself dude!

  • @nastynash96 lol

  • @Kommanter51475 Its love...true love...this bike is amazing....

  • einfach nur geil

  • 193hp 204 kg.or the yamaha ri .190 and 180 kg kerb

  • @ 1:50, can anyone explain to me why one headlight is round and the other is a parallelogram?

  • Because the high beam doesn't require as much space, they then simply didn't make it any larger than it absolutely needed to be. To save space and weight.

  • to save weight, the high beams don't need to be as big. every bit of weight helps

  • @songofthebong

because bmw likes to make everything different

  • @songofthebong Styyyyyyle baby

  • ur ugly

  • shit, this is a 1k and it barely weighs more then my 250

  • Those colors make it look like a BMW F1 car with half the wheels and half the cylinders. Awesome.

  • This bike looks good. But I checked the engine specs and in my opinion the crank shaft is too small. Its max torque doesn't kick in till about 10k rpm's. I thought kawasaki and yamaha had small cranks. But this one is 5mm smaller. It's build for the track and it doesn't perform well on the street. Now I'm talking about what could be considered a real street scenario. A rolling start dragrace on the freeway or on the street. Suzuki has one hell of a rep on the street. And thats why they sell

  • The bike is built to preform on track and nothing else, if you want to race on the street you simply need to use a lower gear and make good use of the speedshifter. This bike hits 200 Bhp in benches and it 0,5 secs faster to 200kp/h than the rest of the sportbikes.

  • Yeah you guys in Europe are more into high speed then drag racing. So I can see why you like this bike. But here in the United States the max speed is about 75mph or about 120kph. So street drags is whats more realisitic for us here. But most people in the bike hobby know that a light less powerful bike can handle just as good if not better in the corners then a bigger engine bike. Its not as critical to have a powerful motor in a turn as is the setup you have in your suspension and brakes.

  • Its when you come out a turn that the more powerful bike can now show its performance advantage. I've been to road races where I've seen experience riders on smaller bikes out perform bigger bikes. because they would dominate in the corners. And yes when the bigger bikes hit the triaghts they would start to regain some of what they lost. But not enough to win. 1000cc bikes only have an advantage in the straights not the corners. So when talking about power thats what you have to keep in mind

  • Weight reduction has done alot for modern 1000cc bikes... you can even look at the pure dimensions of todays liter class, they are like 600cc bikes ... light, super power and agile... ok, my KTM with 65 HP and 123kg can eat all of them in tight corners.... but thats all it can do :)

  • I agree. !000cc bikes are pretty close to the weight of a 600. But a 600cc bike's are still lighter. And can match or exceed the speed of a 1000cc bike in the turns. But be out ecellorated in the straits. If you have a street bike. Race someone even if its the same size. Let them get the jump on you and see how hard it is to catch back up with them. If a 600cc bike gets about 2 to 3 bike lengths on a 1000cc bike. That bike is going to have to work like hell to catch it.

  • You really have max speed limits of 120km/h? But.. ok, we have speed limits too, but, thats not the end of the world, there are miles and miles of roads where you can drive any way you like :) (Croatia ;)

  • Yes max legal speed of 75mph/120km/h. But I have been 150mph+ and I've seen people do 185mph+ or 280km/h. But if your caught doing it your going to get arrested pay fines and yout insurance is going to go up alot.

  • Sorry, but I think that guys at BMW know a bit more about engines than you do, so I`ll trust their knowledge :)

  • I hope they know more then I do about engines. I'm sure the engineers designed th engine to meet their criteria. What ever type of racing they wanted it to be designed for. But I do know this bike would get its ass kicked in a dragrace against my 1994 honda.

  • @1137rr: Well, all supersport bikes are made for high revs, so if you start from lower revs, you need some time to get to the real power... unless you have a good feeling for your clutch and throttle, then you can start like hell... ok, never like a single or twin cilinder bikes that have most of their torque on lower and mid revs, but, you`ll catch up really soon. I destroyed many supersport bikes on start with my KTM, but after 100kmh... they go like rockets by me :)

  • Not all. A friend of mine was lusting to get a 2004-05 kawasaki zx10. Or a 2004 Yamaha R1. He was reading the horsepower numbers of these bikes. About 180HP. His alternative pick was a 2002-03 R1 because the bike he wanted was too expensive. I compared the engine specs of the zx10 and the 04 R1. I told him "The 02 R1 looks like it should be a better bike because of the bore and stroke combo on the 02 R1. this bike ended up being a bike he settled with not what he really wanted.

  • But it ended up being the bike of his dreams. He raced the bikes he wanted to get the 04 R1 and the ZX10. And whipped their ass. Just about everything he came across he would out perform. Busa, zx14,and newer R1's. The only bike that could out perform him was the GSXR1000. The reason is the bore and stroke combo. The 02 R1 has a 58mm crank. The GSXR1000 has a 59mm crank. Everything else except the busa and zx14 has a 55 or 54 mm crank

  • And I know you heard about how good the old honda 900rr used to be. The 1993-99 900rr has a 58mm crank. My 1994 900rr is the same weight as this BMW. Look up the specs yourself. SEe to me their is a sweat spot to the crank strike and cyl. bore. and 58mm is it for the stroke. Why did they stop making engines with this combo? Because the torque is so strong at low speeds. If you know someone with a 2000-04 GSXR1000 ask them if you could ride it. Thats if you haven't road one already Their nice

  • This thing is going to take the pants off all the Jap comers.... Ducati and Aprilia as well.... The 1000rr is a full 30 bhp more than the rest of the litre class competition. We going to be hearing 'BMW' and 'super sports bike' in the same sentence a lot from now.

  • @motorzeff the best thing about it is it will cost you less than 100 dollars a month to own one thru bmw

  • BEAUTIFUL!

  • I honestly didnt know BMW made Sportsbikes.. i knew they made bikes but not sportsbikes.. Hell all I see on street is Suzuki and Honda.. maybe a yamaha or kawasaki

  • How come this bike looks like the zx10?

Are kawasaki and bmw on teams or something?

  • and the yamaha R6?

  • Take a very good look at the front..Then look at the front of the new R6..You will see that they look almost alike..The difference between the 2 is that the r6,the front is more extended out but this bike, keeps it close in..Like the zx10..That head light is the same as the R6 also...Check out the center part of the bike..It also has a triumph look to it also..The difference is that the triumph stripes are painted on.This bike has them cut in the plastic..

  • no, think about it, there is one single BEST design out there for aerodynamics. As the companies continue to approach this "perfect" design they will all meet up at the same point. Basically all sport bikes look the same at this point cause they are all trying to achieve the same thing which is awesome aerodynamics. Its the same reason that the prius and the new honda insight have the same general shape.

  • fucking werbung xD

  • I don't care what anybody says, Red White and Blue bikes are the prettiest!

  • @hkusp460 well you're half right..

    Blue is ugly on bikes..

  • i had atest ride on this bike on saturday on scottish gritty and ice roads and it blew me away ..what a bike ..and i ride a gsxr 1000 .... I WANT ONE AND I WANT IT NOW

  • Can't wait to hear an aftermarket exhaust for these.

  • Ein absolut geiles Teil.

Endlich mal wieder deutsche Wertarbeit.

  • I would rather buy an Aprilia RSV4R.

  • @ormand3000

haha ok, go spend an extra $6k for minimal, if any, performance gain.

  • now every one need to say sieg hail to this one;=))

  • I'm proud of BMW. Breaking out of the sport touring (?) thing since the ages and beating the Japanese bikes. What an accomplishment. You can expect an epic response back from the Japanese manufacturers :)

  • I know you all won't believe me but i will get one when I'm 18. My dad trusts in the ABS and in BMW and that's why he is buying the MONSTER^^

  • No amount of technical helpers is going to save you from going too fast and judging from the content of your message you're sure to do just that :P.

  • @virus2547 Well i can't get too fast the first 2 years because I'm only allowed to drive it with 25 kw you know. I hope I can overcome the temptation to drive it with 142 kw.^^

  • @Bloodhunter1992 u sound like you should start on a 150

  • looks simple and front side so ugly, but woice is ok. prefer R1 or 1000rrthats it.they need to improove little bit mote l think.

  • R1 REMAINS ALWAYS THE BEST.....!

  • I like this bike very much. Those that gripe about the look I cant disagree with your feelings but c'mon if anything this is quintessential BMW; notable stylistic quirks and asymmetry. Something stylistically/mechanically distinctly different so as to differentiate and identify themselves. Old news here..

R U men or wimmin? Looks should be the least of it (that's why I love naked bikes), does it have the kit to do the job at hand? Hell yeah!

  • looks like a Yamaha R6 after an UFC fight...

  • Hah. Saw this in person. Its a great looking bike even with the odd design. The BMW dealership that I bought my bike from had some very knowledgeable people working. Then again, it was a Triumph, Ducati and BMW dealer so there were plenty of sportbikes to go around.

  • loooooooove the front...

anybody can devide this from the japanese bikes....

  • @fozenking thats horrible men!

  • That round headlight looks so stupid. Who the hell makes(RUINS) nice front end like that?!?!

  • wonder how long it will take the tuners to bring a symetric-face-kit

  • i just keep watching this video!

  • wow beautiful bike and is fast too

  • there is no perfect world , maybe the challenge to get one will make it all the more worth it. If power is what your after, this price in todays world is nothing. Go bring your wife to a womans purse store, they have the money to buy $20K purses

and more to buy anything else in sight.

  • Comment removed

  • first appearance looks like suzuki bcoz.. the stripes and colour

  • I will tell you something that is so stupid. In Australia if you wish to buy one of these you have to go to a BMW car dealership as they have taken them all away from real motorbike shops. I am seriously considering buying one of these but I wonder if they will even consider trading my 08 gixer 750 and I don't look forward to dealing with those wankers. Would you say this is a good move when launching a sportsbike? Sounds like the tail wagging the dog to me.

  • Rubbish,

I just went to the launch at a BMW bike shop and they definitely would trade in. However most people there were already BMW riders and didn't understand what a chain was......

  • I sort of agree with you but I hope you understand where i am coming from. A lot of the other dealerships have trouble getting staff that have a clue so i am skeptical about the bmw dealerships. Maybe I could best express it as imagine if Holden started selling a super car, you would have concerns with, the back up, servicing, advice etc no matter how good the reviews were let alone a decent trade in for your Porsche.

  • classic xD hahahahaha

  • Sell your house - borrow all you can and open a dealership. You will be a rich man.

  • hanep porma ng motor
