I didn't buy it during the Steam sales... I sorta planned on buying all Guild Wars content during the Steam sales, but I didn't when it went on sale. I feared I wasn't going to play it enough to justify my purchase, and that it wasn't populated enough to make it work. Now I am just disappointed I didn't buy it. Even though it's not super-populated, it would've been fun to actually play Guild Wars before Guild Wars 2.
has anyone been playing GW recently? I want to get back into GW but I don't know how active the servers are. I'm afraid that I'll just log in to start a mission and find that there's no one to party with. I had a similar experience when I first played GW and was at the last area of prophecies, where there was never enough people to party with.
@flightoftheicarus it's definitely not as populated as it used to be - a large portion of the people playing seem to be either very new (people who purchased the game on sale from steam a couple weeks back) or veterans like me who are working on end-game areas and titles. That being said, some adjustments to heroes and henchmen (the AI party members available for PVE) have made it much easier to solo quests/missions if you can't get a party.
I went from D2 to this years ago like a few months before Factions came out. Spent many, many, many hours on it with my warrior and pretty much bought extra slots to have a lvl 20 of each profession.
Don't know why, but just playing through prof without the runs is fairly entertaining. I need to reinstall and play again, but idk, I burnt myself out on it really badly to where I just don't know what to do anymore lol. Amazing game though. Lots of good memories.
@vanished001 Thanks man, RPGs like this aren't always great for spectating if you don't actually play the game, but I'm glad you've been enjoying them!
I remember getting a free trial of this back in its earlier days but I was playing WoW at the time and was confused as fuck so I never ended up picking it up.
Guild Wars is a great game. I played it for more than 3000 hours overall and im not finished with it. The PvP content is awesome. Many modes you can play with different strats.. FUN ! ITs a great game. If you havent got it yet -> get it !
Awesome Jaye, I'll definately watch all your gw related stuff :p even though I already have thousands of hours on that game already x_x shame they nerfed 600 and 55 and all that stuff..
@Kijuto37 I have done a few GW streams, but I usually announce them on twitter. I will start putting up announcements on this channel too if I do them. Also I am happy to help subscribers do missions and such from time to time, but I can't commit to anything. Just let me know if you have questions or get stuck somewhere :)

@deffikE05 haha the lack of jumping is probably the #1 complaint I heard when this came out, but I migrated over from Diablo 2 at the time so I didn't even notice :) I have started working on my HoM too, I'm still pretty far away from the 30/50 mark but I'm having fun working on all the Hard Mode content.

@T0xinCF I think so, but it depends on what you get out of WoW. If you play WoW for the loot and leveling grind, then you may not like GW2 as it will follow a similar design philosophy of skill > grind that GW1 possesses. However if you play WoW for the huge areas, freedom, raiding epic bosses, and story development then I think you'll enjoy GW2. This is just based on the little GW2 content I've seen so far, only time will tell!

I love Guild Wars the only mmo type game I've played for hundreds of hours. Best pvp ever. Guild Wars 2 will be incredible.
