Grew up with this guy in Jackson, MS. This is always who he was. The music he released before came as a surprise to people who are fans of his very early work. He was never about bitches, hoes, guns, etc. He was about revolution and evolution. Glad to see that side peering through!

I too was surprised when he released the total opposite on a national level... but I respected his craft, yet wanted the man I knew from right here in the studio. He was doing some mean sampling also with his blue screen ASR 10... Glad he's returning to what feels so much like who he really is.
