  • Really amazing, awesome job and awesome Max patch!

  • I'm sure Glenn would approve, this is awesome.

  • Glenn Branca Deddan!

  • This sounds like the ending bit of "Go To Sleep" by Radiohead. Is this the same kind of thing that Johnny Greenwood uses?

  • can some1 explain briefly what was the "editing" and what algorithm used?

  • It's going to sound somewhat obscure - but basically I am using an algorithm which generates cellular automata in real time (Google "cellular automata " or "Conway's game of Life" to find out more about that) to re-sequence the video in cyclical but non-repeating patterns. These "non-linear" cycles are advanced through the original video clip from beginning to end. The sound is generated in the same way, except that samples are triggered by the algorithm as well. All done in Max/MSP/Jitter.

  • This is fucking amazing. I keep getting goosebumps from listening to this.

  • Really good stuff! Thanks for sharing!

  • Too nice... I always got a feeling that Max/MSP has been made for this kind of stuff.

  • I think I like this reedit as much as the original. :)

  • great idea it's awesome man!!!

  • this is really awesome

  • Outstanding, splendid, excellent, marvelous, brilliant!

  • man... this is a new form of music! those who doesn't believe the musical power of film montage must hear this new kind of visual music through Glenn Branca's solo. i loved!

  • Super video & real shredder style!

  • It's a sort of process music / cubism...

  • Holy shit! The original of this is mind blowing but this is pretty impressive. Can you get Branca to see this?

  • VERY cool. This is the man that influenced Sonic Youth, one of the most influential alternative bands.

  • Dude! Wasn't this in the video from the "The Ring" movie?

     I think i just had a seizure...

  • hope you're feeling better!

  • Wow! How was this done?

  • MAX/MSP running a program I wrote with John Keihl which uses cellular automata (a numbers game) to trigger edit points and sampler playback. Glad you like it. I did a similar processing of the shower scene from Psycho - check it out

  • I saw it. It's really brilliant. I saw a cartoon years ago with that same jumpy quality. I always thought it would look great in film.

  • Great stuff! Where's the Psycho scene?

  • @maurice666

A million thank you for this work
