  • I mainly love classic rock, but the Oak Ridge Boys are one of the few country bands i like.

  • My sister and I saw The Oaks many moons ago in Frankfort Ky. By some miracle we met them and they invited us back to the hotel where they were staying. We met them in the hotel bar and talked and talked. NO funny business involved just one memorable night.

  • this is to my favorite brother oh the times we had listening & enjoying this music God Knows i miss you and can't bring you back Rip I love you

  • is bill golden in this video I don't remember him without all the hair

  • @mrjakedog07

  • @Rusty3659 I always wished he kept this look. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE the oaks. I first saw them when "Elvira" came out> He was just starting to let his hair/beard grow. He couldn't hanged his image w/out all of that IMO>

  • @musicguy4fun.....Could be true .....My late wife and I used to dance to this , we loved them .......Now I find out that we were dancing to un-engineered sound .......O the shame ....P.S. We never did drug's .

  • I like this song alot...

  • I love this song!!! I'm 38 & I witnessed the last era of good country music!!! Who the hell is the dork in the red pirate shirt & cape with the sword??? WTF??? This dork is just a back up player & he thinks he's got his own show goin on!!! Anyone else notice that??? Dorky Swede!

  • Grand to see what Old Long Greybeard looked like when he was young.

  • @ittybitty149 ...WOW, I seen them in 1974 in kokomo indianan at the young age of 10 with my Dad. Just love them!

  • A guy at Subway told me to listen to them, I dig it. Even tho I'm more of an Indie and New Wave girl.xD

  • Wow, as a professional sound engineer, I can honestly say that the sound man must have been on fucking crack... that's the worst mix of a vocal harmony group I've ever heard.

  • @musicguy4fun well the music is not as bad and the way they are dressed, surely with the money they have made they could dress better

  • good memories

    thanks for sharing

  • Seems like it was only a couple of years ago......in their prime.........

  • cocaine is a hell of a drug

  • c bon sa :)

  • One song that comes to mind when hearing the country music from this decade is the song by George jones 'Who's Gonna Fill Their Shoes'

  • love this song

  • what a great by gone era for country music.

  • My Dad would put the Oak Ridge Boys on and we would sing together along with the tape. I was around 11. Those are some pretty fantastic memories. Thanks ORB.

  • @flowerpotent if only we could relive such memories am i right. would be nice. back then things were so much simpler. im 20 now and i still listen to the classics.

  • I had the opportunity to meet William Lee Golden in Elko, Nevada back in 1993, when he was soloing. Very caring, patient gentleman, and took time for the fans. I sat in for the second show and thoroughly enjoyed it.

  • Duane is from my part of the country. He actually taught school at a country school before beginning his singing career. I live in NE Texas

  • Duane is from my part of the country. He actually taught school at a country school before beginning his singing career.

  • Amazing how Dwayne Allen's look changed in just a few years. He was a hip, disco-looking guy in this video and morphed into a mountain man. Great sound, though!

  • @gatech42 You're thinking of William Lee Golden

  • @gatech42 ....I think you are referring to William Lee. He's the one who grew his hair and beard out.

  • Should I even mention that I was 6yrs old when this was filmed.... This music has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. LOVE these guys! God bless them & theirs!

  • Had not heard this song in 20 yrs and out of the blue one night started singing it. Just had to look it up and hear the original. Love this song!

  • Country now isn't really country. This is real country!

  • @MrDesperado91 Country now is just 21st century country.

  • @MrDesperado91 Youre damn right. We should treasure these classics

  • Oh the Oak Ridge boys~~~

I will always love listening to their songs~~~

    thanks for sharing~~~

  • I want To meet Richard Sterban & Joe Bonsall, they are HOT!!!!!!

  • I am Starting To Like Richard Sturban.

  • Richard Sturben Scares Me!!

  • @vseas3 I imagine the voice of God sounds a lot like Richard Sterban hitting a low note.

  • this is a good old song

  • "losers evening prayer" Brilliant! Four part harmony at its best. The Oaks are the greatest.

  • This is from the Montreux Jazz Festival 1979- not 1977.

  • i like them i saw them for the first time in concert a couple of months ago

  • yea this song rocks

  • OK. I just got a huge laugh watching the guy in robes with the sword. What the heck was that all about?!?!?! These guys ROCK. I saw them at my county fair last Summer and I've been hooked ever since. Don't know how I missed them all my life, but MAN they're awesome.

  • what happened to the one with the long hair and beard ..... ha

  • He... William Lee Golden... is standing right there in his normal place. This video was pre-beard.

  • haha, he's there sans the beard!

  • @cellpals2 Yeah, just look at the way he stands back from the mic and leans forward at the waist to sing. Nobody else does that.

  • Saw the group twice in Plant City Florida at famous Strawberry Festival in addition to viewing many TV performances. What fun entertainers. Due to old age and illness I was unable to go to Indiana concert last year. God Bless 'em for the good music - current country, Gospel and the new things.

  • Belongs to my absolutely favourite song of the Oaks. It is such funn to listen too. Thanks for the

    upload too. <3<3<3<3<3

  • Joe Bonsall looks Melungen , an ethnic group native to Tennessee.

  • from the wiki "found primarily in northeastern Tennessee, southwestern Virginia, southeastern Kentucky"

  • thanks newsman

  • love this song!

  • This is a great video and I love Garland!! He rocks!! He's such a nice & gracious guy!! All of the guys were so young in this video, too. I love it. Brings back great memories for me. =)

  • I cannot believe there is footage of this song on here!

  • Duane you are so sweet and great!

  • awsome

  • THIS is country music. All these tigh jean wearing momma boy queers who think their singing country today with their telecasters and the amp distortin wide open should look at this and get a CLUE! AWESOME SONG!!! 5**********!

  • It's great to hear some real country music.

  • this was the title song to their 1st all country recording. it was a great album and sent the oaks into another class as country artists.

  • AAA+++. The best.

  • they rock

  • Love their music, always have. But in looking at this video, the guy (maybe the keyboard player) who's clowning around with the mic prop (?). That is such a distraction from the stars of the show. If it was my call, that guy would be fired at the end of the show. You flat out do not do anything to distract from your headliners. Nobody paid to see that clown. Just my opinion.

  • That's Garland! he's awesome and that's his cane! why you gotta be hatin' on Garland?

  • Like I said just my opinion but that clown (Garland you say?) is terribly unprofessional and should have been fired.

  • By the end of 1979 ---they went country in 1977--- the Oak Ridge Boys had a new band.

  • Mikey-B, Donna and Matty Boy this one's for you ! Didn't we have a grand time singing it way back when !! What memories ! I love you. THANK YOU OAK RIDGE BOYS !!. A.N.

  • Love the Oaks!!!

Listen close and you'll hear Duane and WLG hit a unison at 0:58-0:59! I think its so funny to hear great artists like this goof up every now and then, espeically a group like the Oaks who are harmony masters. Not too big of a goof-up though.

  • TRUE,

  • Love it!

    Thanks!!

    George Vreeland Hill

  • Is that freddy mercury on the end with the blue shirt and scarf?

  • No, that's Joe Bonsall, the tenor singer for the Oak Ridge Boys.

  • This may be the greatest video I have ever seen! Joe is fired up at the end of this song! These guys were great!

  • This was my introduction song to the boys back in 78 or so. I have been a fan since.

  • for a collage 100 year birthday the oakridge boys played it was great i like come on in

  • Brings back memories of the WS Cowboy who is no longer with us.

  • Do you have anymore videos from this concert, that you can post? Thanks for posting this also!

  • Thank you for posting this!

  • I love the Oak Ridge Boys!

I hope to get to see them perform in person oneday!!!

  • I've seen them 4 times. They put on a great show even if you don't like their music

  • Just the best!

  • I first saw the boys when Golden was just letting his hair/beard grow. Lookin back I wish he hadn't grown it out. He looks better this way.

  • that is wlg, he didnt leave till later

  • i know they always stand in the same spots, so he is standing in william lee golden's spot. is that william lee golden third from left? i'm not sure without the beard.

  • From Left to Right... Joe Bonsall, Duane Allen, William Lee Golden, and Richard Sterban.

I'm 24 and I'm a huge Oaks fan! I love them, I so went to see them in a concert someday.

Duane and Richard are both look sexy here. WLG is not bad here either.
