I love his music! It always comes from his soul. I was almost done with guitar until I first stumbled upon his music. You have a good soul sir ty and keep em comming :p God Bless
Are you playing with an amplyfier or some guitar amp sim program? I can't get enough sustain with guitar rig Podfarm revalver etc.... any idea? I have an Ibanez RG 1570 its not too bad guitar so i think its not guitar problem. With a good amp i have endless sustain. So its program /equipment problem?
One of the best 4:45 mins in my life. Thank you buddy. I think Its time to make a Q&A video about soundding, a couple lick, your experiences, musical ideas ..... I believe there are many ppl who is on same idea.
@ParadoxCAVA Music is an art, art is a way of expressing ideas, emotions and/or causing them.
No matter how much you shred, there is always information and feelings to be passed.
Even a fast shred can express happiness, animation, sadness or anger, for example.
I don't see why this "emotion" thing is so much emancipated, because it conflicts with art, if art is a expression of emotion, how can you do art without expressing intentionally or not an emotion?
@carlosewm True, but consider this idea: Hypothetically, Shredding can encompass maybe 50% of emotions, and slow playing can encompass 50%. The percentages can vary depending on the interpreter. And when there is only shredding, then a decent percentage of emotion is gone, and then people interpret that loss as, "oh this lacks any emotion." That's what I believe on the matter.
@CoreThrasherGLB I get your point and I agree, the problem itself, in my opinion, is that some players tend to exaggerate on shredding, which makes them sound too "robotic", it gets boring and bit repulsive as it might be interpreted as laziness or lack of creativity.
I think the main problem with the constant fast playing is that we don't have enough time to appreciate the notes but only the overall message in them while understanding each note in a composition has a decent emotional impact.
@carlosewm Why do people think that just because a person plays slowly that they're playing with more emotion than someone who shreds? Whether that person was playing fast or slow, can you honestly say that you know how that person was feeling when they were playing? It comes down to perception of your own truth. Which may or may not be the perception of others!
@1lordzock1 All good music must have emotion. Do you actually suggest that a principle and understanding is bullshit? Kar98 has feel to his playing. Is it his playing that is bullshit?
@CoreThrasherGLB Emotion in guitar playing is divided in 2 parts, 1. What the guitarist is feeling while playing 2. What the listener is feeling at the momnet. You listen to 1 guitarist and say that kind of bullshit of "he's only speed, no emotion" but maybe he has even more emotion than an average guitarist (point 1). You cannot judge if someone has or has not. Thats why talking about emotion as a general quality is bulshit. PD: I'm a profesional guitarist myself.

@carlosewm There are some emotions that 6 minutes of shredding cannot capture, and some emotions that slower playing can. And vice versa.
CoreThrasherGLB 4 months ago
@CoreThrasherGLB Exactly, but it's a matter of how you interpret it, it's very subjective, that's what I am trying to tell.
My point is we shouldn't confuse fast playing with lack of emotion.
