I have a friend whose son was very much into the hip hop culture when they lived in Ethiopia. When they came here in 2004, he was having hard time at school because all his classmates were white and he was unwilling to be friends with them. Fastforward 5 years, and the family had moved to Seattle and his class was very diverse. To my surprise he had no black American friends all his friends were IMMIGRANTS like him.

I have a friend whose son was very much into the hip hop culture when they lived in Ethiopia. When they came here in 2004, he was having hard time at school because all his classmates were white and he was unwilling to be friends with them. Fastforward 5 years, and the family had moved to Seattle and his class was very diverse. To my surprise he had no black American friends all his friends were IMMIGRANTS like him.
