I personally started to treat the series and the book as two totally different things... I mean, I have no problem with what they did to the plot - movie is a specific kind of art that requires it's own means... The ONLY thing that bothers me about the TV series is how they portayed Eric - he's flattened and simplyfied, while in books he has a colorful and complex personality. They shouldn't have done that with such a major character. Though Alex Skarsgard is made for the part :)
I agree about the way the tv show portrays Eric, it drives me nuts. Don't get me wrong I love the character development of Jessica and Layfette. I hate how missing small incidents from the books will alter the eric and sookie romance in the books. Why because anna and Stephen are engaged? I hope they dont keep them together in the tv show cos they are off screen in love. Sookie NEVER hated eric in the books, she was always drawn to and attracted to him. Go back to the books please on this
The series is really different from the book. I'm not gonna say what happens, because I don't want to ruin it for anyone, but some characters in the show stay alive, while in the book they are killed off. And some of the characters in the show are portrayed as being more caring towards Sookie than they really are, when they have actually done completely bitter, brutal things to her that have torn her apart emotionally. However, I still like them both. The books and the show are still great.
The television series hardly shows all the risks Eric takes for Sookie. BILL DID NOT STAKE THAT VAMPIRE for her protection, not in the books - Eric did it.
yes he did!!!!! thats my only problem with the show is that they are changing a lot from the books. I understand that it can't be perfect but come on Eric is a badass and yes they kind of make him one but he seriously loves Sookie....even from the very beginning
I agree eric really dies like sookie. and now in season two he seems to be a total badass and you don't really see the attraction he has to her. Hopefully they will give us a like ericxsookie action in seasons to come! :)
Uhh..I dont think my comment posted. I typed all this stuff out. But now I'll just keep it short and simple. I like the result of Bill staking longshadow (?) instead of Eric because it brought Jessica to bill and I really like her. But I think Eric shouldnt have contacted Lorena because now Eric comes off more as...I want this hot girl to f her and not as caring and protective as he is in the books. xDD
I know! Bill just sat there and did bugger all in the book, I hope it doesn't try to screw too much with what is actually SUPPOSED to happen between Eric and Sookie from now on...
No, they won't! As they started...no way! it's beginning to be jst another kitch this show... Look at jason and the brotherhood....the false eric we see....No way...i'm not looking anymore...:(
Yea. theyre def changing lots of things. i guess we will see with this season if they are gonna be able to go more towards the books or if this new stuff will be worth it.
Holy cow, I love you for this. SOiL is one of my favorite bands, and this is like.. my favorite song. Two of my favorite things in one. The editing is great! <3

Just remember the books and the series are not the same.
Biggest problems I have had...
1 Bill staked Sookie in the show, when Eric does in the book.
2 Eric does not contact Lorena - Lorena seeks Bill out herself. Eric feels pity for Sookie and tries to comfort her!
3. All of the risks Eric takes for her - are just swept away by AB.
