passenger planes can't track missiles. If a missile was shot at the plane, the plane would not have stood a chance and batouty would not have known about it.

secondly, an explosion in midair would have been picked up on the cockpit voice recorder which clearly wasn't because batouty can be heard chanting until the plane hits the sea.

@ElSpewtardo Very good point. Not only would he have had no chance to know of any missile, as they travel about ten times the speed of the plane to begin with thus it'd be over pretty quickly... 1. How would he know that it was a heat seeking missile? It could have been radar or infrared, in which case engines would do nothing either way. 2. The Engines retain heat for a long time, the missile coming in very quickly, it wouldn't have made a lick of difference. Completely bogus. :)
