well a clip holds rounds but isnt enclosed and has no spring and "most" times doesnt stay in weapon when its loaded except for garands and maybe a few others.... mags hold ammo enclosed with a spring and ALWAYS stay in weapon while firing...not that it matters to anyone outside of the military or law enforcement,...just saying

Just because you don't care to use the correct word, doesn't mean that others are "gay" if they do. Some people really get into guns and they can't help it if it bothers them to hear others use incorrect nomenclature. Magazines and Clips are NOT THE SAME. Clips have no moving parts, it only holds the ammo so you can do a full load straight into the firearm such as the mosin nagant, m1 garand. A magazine is spring loaded feeding device that loads rounds one by one for each cycle of the firearm. Also in the case of M1 garand the ammo clip ejects itself after the last round is fired. Magazines do not eject themselves after the last round is fired.

Doesn't matter! In the American vernacular the terms are used interchangeably whether it's literally correct or not. Just like calling a firearm a "heater" or "gat" which are colloquial terms for said firearm. So while literally a "clip" may be slightly different from a "magazine" they are used interchangeably today in the American language, like it or not?

It does matter to some people, I used to say "clip" when I was a younger ignorant kid. But now I say mag when its proper and clip when its proper. Go to a shooting range and people will look at you crazy when you say "Load up another clip for my AK/AR." You said in your comment, whats the difference? Clips feed magazines, and Magazines feed weapons.

Now if you try point out that you can use the stripper "clip" to load an SKS, I have to point out you are only using the stripper "clip" to load the fixed internal magazine. The weapon feeds from the internal magazine, not from the "clip", and the same can be said of the en-bloc clip. it's the same deal, just the timing is different when the clip is discarded.

You would never state a Garand is magazine fed.

M1 garand uses "en bloc" clips.  you put the clips inside the bandoliers.

The Mosin Nagants, military Mausers, Enfields, Springfields, and almost every old surplus bolt-action, and many of the semi-autos from that era, have magazines that are loaded using a stripper clip. Very, very few rifles can feed from a clip, though, or function while the clip is attached to the firearm.

Saiga 12ga runs from about $500-700 for the standard set up depending on where you are. In KY I got one for $550 total with tax. Honestly, I dont think you can get a better simi auto shotgun in the $500 range. AK design, highly modable and made in Russia by the legendary ISHAMH who invented the AK and in fact Mikhail Kalashnikov still works there. The Saiga 12 is used by the infamous Spetsna Russina Special Forces.

Well, if in a war or battle, magazines are not something to wory about too much if you can get an infinite supply from uncle sam but if its my own stuff, I don't do that either (especially with polymer mags) as they may become damaged and have to be replaced or I have a useless gun. If they are considered trash, can I have them (in one peice) when you are done with them? Can I have your gun since its trash once it runs out of ammo and is useless? Thanks.
