  • amazing machine...good work !

  • aaand i'm back again :))

  • Have you heard Bonobo @kaylakavanagh He creates beautiful intricate sounds like this.. You're in the same league as far as i'm concerned. Beautiful piece. Have you a longer version of it?

  • This reminds me so much of Kuroshitsuji (Black Butler), just....... happier.

  • Very enjoyable! I have a Pico too but you're streets ahead.

  • Very nice

  • may I say, your stuff is absolutely spectacular ... keep doing music girl!

  • awesome, well done, and cute ;)

  • Just read blog post by Josh Kopecek which prompted me to look for videos of the Eigenharp. Wonderful piece, very atmospheric!

  • @brownmariannes his post is here joshkopecek.co.uk

  • Fabulous!

  • Very nice arrangement and composition Kayla .... loved it !!!! ;o)

  • really nice Kayla what a cool instrument

  • wasnt this from futuranma

  • sweet chick that was fuckn awesome!

  • Everybody seems to be saying "Chocolate Rain", and I hear the similarities, but I hear inspiration derived from "Tubular Bells", Mike Oldfield. Either way, I'm calling shenanigans.

Stravinsky says: "A good composer doesn't imitate; he steals."

An anonymous composer says: "A good composer isn't good at stealing; he's good at hiding what he steals"

I say: "It isn't about how much beauty you can create, for that is subjective, it is about what you can offer us, that we have yet to receive."

  • still not buying at all that the eigenharp is the future of music, but this is pretty cool! gud work

  • @squeakyfromme69 more like the eigenharp is just another entry into the vast field of music, am i right? i agree, her performance is really good.

  • @StoutKrautOne word. there are lots of cool instruments popping up. it's kinda like the late 70s when analog synthesis was a new deal.. imho

  • groovy baby

  • terrific

  • I love this, great composition.. just off to listen to the original :-)

  • Fantastic piece!

  • Very Cool!

  • @exeter890 and yeh, seriously, wtf. yeh. theres an arpeggio in each (hmm, the rain maybe), and they have a loosely similar feel, but they are not the same. yeh. just saying. yeh. may want to listen to them both again. yeh. yeh.

  • Chocolate rain!

  • how much did you get your pico for? and what store did you order it from

  • @exeter890 sounds nothing like chocolate rain

  • @Daraplzmusic your mental it sounds almost identical

  • @Daraplzmusic er yes it does. Same chords, same time signature, same descending "arpeggios".

  • nice chocolate rain cover

  • @stev0205 Bizarrely enough this piece was written before I'd even heard Chocolate Rain! I wrote the piece in 2006 when it was performed by the Kokoro Quartet (see my other videos for the performance) - purely coincidental!

  • holy crap, i want a pico right now....this is the future of music composition.

  • you rock.

  • that was so awsome

  • Nice composition, very pleasant sounding. I am curious what time this was composed in. 7/8?

  • Thank you very much! It is composed in 7/4 :) Kayla x

  • Many thanks, beautiful stuff. Theres a very distinct Kayla Kavannagh sound.

    B

  • Kayla, you thoroughly rule! I got my own pico last week and have been wrestling it, but you are totally inventing the way this thing is played. You're my fave for the Alpha competition... and when you win it, you'll have to come here to the US and show us how it's played. Love you and keep the beautiful music coming!

  • I saw the first video you put up with the eigenharp you play it well.

  • Thank you very much! You can also watch the second entry "Eigenharp Pico: York Minster" in the Related videos section ---->
